In a bold display of resistance, AAP Delhi State Convenor and Cabinet Minister, Shri Gopal Rai, spearheaded a ‘Jail ka Jawab Vote se’ rally in the Krishna Puri and Janakpuri neighborhoods of West Delhi’s Lok Sabha constituency. Rally attendees, rallying behind INDIA Alliance candidate Mahabal Mishra, vowed to oust the authoritarian regime gripping the nation and uphold the sanctity of the constitution and democracy. Shri Gopal Rai underscored that this election transcends mere selection of Prime Ministers, MPs, or ministers; it’s a battle to safeguard the very essence of the constitution and democratic ethos.With the public keenly observing, Shri Gopal Rai vowed that the electorate would respond to Modi government’s authoritarian tendencies with resolute ballots.
Addressing the ‘Jail ka jawab Vote se’ ‘Sankalp Sabha’, Shri Gopal Rai said that Delhi’s CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal has been imprisoned by the authoritarian government at the center. This Lok Sabha election is not an ordinary one. It’s not just about electing MPs, ministers, and a Prime Minister; rather, this election has become about saving the country’s constitution and democracy. For the past two years, there has been a continuous attack on the constitution and democracy. If we fail this time, it will be difficult to save the constitution and democracy after this Lok Sabha election.
The AAP Delhi State Convenor stated, “Referring to some decisions of the Modi government that weaken the constitution and democracy, it was said that when the new Parliament session was called, 150 opposition MPs were dismissed in a day. All opposition MPs were ousted, and the central government took control of the Parliament and started passing arbitrary laws. PM Modi says this is just the trailer; this was indeed the trailer to end the constitution and democracy. In every part of the country where there is a non-BJP government, governments are being toppled and purchased selectively. Conspiracies are being made to end opposition governments. In the times ahead in this country, opposition governments will not be allowed to exist.”
“The Election Commission conducts elections in the country. The Modi government removed the Chief Justice of the country from the Election Commission committee and brought the Election Commission under its control. Within the country, all agencies including the ED, CBI, and IT are in their grip. It is said that the ED works impartially, but fears to go to the doors of BJP members. Not a single raid happens on BJP leaders. BJP members who face allegations are being included in the BJP, and all their files are being closed,” She affirmed.
Shri Gopal Rai further added that this is just a trailer. Posters and hoardings of over 400 seats are placed in many places. To form a government, you need 272 seats. Then why do they (BJP) need 400 seats? Their leaders are going door to door telling people that a government is formed with 272 seats, but they need 400 seats because they want to change the constitution. There is a plan to murder the constitution and democracy. The biggest example of this is CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, who won with a massive majority in Delhi, but has been put in jail. First, his wife, Smt. Sunita Kejriwal, was denied a face-to-face meeting. Information has been received that her sugar level has risen above 300.
“But under pressure from the central government, the jail administration is not ready to provide insulin to her. Many governments have come and gone in India, but no elected Chief Minister has ever been put in jail. They say Shri Arvind Kejriwal was involved in an alleged liquor scam. That’s why he has been put in jail. The BJP claims that their ED and CBI have been investigating for 2 years. Shri Manish Sisodia and Shri Satyender Jain have also been put in jail. They raided thousands of places, but did not find a single rupee of corruption. This is proof of Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s honesty. There will be no evidence in the next 10 years either,” The AAP Delhi State Convenor affirmed.
Shri Gopal Rai said that BJP people were accusing Shri Ajit Pawar of corruption every day. Now, the BJP has made him Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra. The BJP accused Ashok Chavan of Adarsh Housing Society Scam, now he has become Rajya Sabha MP. Himanta Biswa Sarma has become the Chief Minister of Assam. Magunta Reddy, father of corruption accused Raghava Reddy, has become NDA candidate, while there is concrete evidence that the BJP has taken Rs 60 crore from Sarath Reddy. The people of Delhi have made Shri Arvind Kejriwal their Chief Minister by giving them an overwhelming majority not once but three times in a row. Shri Arvind Kejriwal has worked wholeheartedly for the people of Delhi. He has made electricity, water, bus travel for women and pilgrimage for the elderly free in Delhi, built good schools and hospitals. Shri Arvind Kejriwal passed the budget to give an honorarium of Rs 1,000 every month to every woman in Delhi.
Shri Gopal Rai stated that the BJP people are trying to stop the work of the Kejriwal government from the first day. But Arvind Kejriwal told the BJP that if you have the power of the Central Government, then we have the power of the prayers of the people of Delhi and we worked. The BJP central government overturned the decision of a five-judge bench of the Supreme Court in the services case in the Parliament. Still their conspiracies could not stop us from working. They don’t have a single job to report. When the LG could not stop the work, the Chief Minister was put in jail. This is an insult to the entire Delhi. The BJP has not only arrested Shri Arvind Kejriwal, but has arrested the sentiments of millions of people who voted for him and made him the Chief Minister.
Shri Gopal Rai said that the people who gave birth to Shri Arvind Kejriwal are outside the jail. The police do not allow us to gather citing Section 144, but do not say anything to BJP. When we go out to protest, we are arrested. The MLAs and councilors are not allowed to leave their homes. They have arrested Shri Arvind Kejriwal so that he could not campaign. If they have the power, then Baba Saheb has also given us the power of vote. Appealing to the people of Delhi, he said that if you feel from your heart that Shri Arvind Kejriwal has done something for you, that he cares about your family and children and works for them, then today your son and brother, Shri Arvind Kejriwal is in trouble., he is suffering torture in jail. We will have to go door to door and convince people. 25th May is an important day of this fight. You will have to answer this dictatorship with your vote.
