Labour Minister Shri Raaj Kumar Anand held a significant board meeting of The Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (DBOCWWB) with the Labour Commissioner and other senior board officials. The meeting was convened to address and resolve the pendency of the application forms due to lack of verification process.

The DBOCWWB offers financial assistance to the children of registered construction workers to ensure their safety, health, and welfare. Since 2020, a significant number of applications are pending due to lack of verification. To expedite the disbursement of financial aid to these children, the Labour Minister has instructed to frame a revised, worker-friendly Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) This is aimed at addressing the pending cases promptly.

The Labour Minister emphasized that the financial assistance to the children of Labour workers should be easily accessible within the specified time, without any challenges. To promote awareness about Delhi Government schemes, printed materials should be distributed at all construction sites. The Minister also directed the development of a user-friendly App for the convenience of construction workers.

“The verification process should be streamlined to facilitate the hassle-free submission of application forms with all the required documents. Regular review meetings should be convened to assess the status of pending cases,” Minister Shri Raaj Kumar Anand stated.

The Labour Minister mentioned, “The Kejriwal government’s goal is to deliver a citizen-friendly administration, guaranteeing that the benefits of schemes and services are accessible to the most vulnerable members of society.”
