Food and Civil Supplies Minister Shri Imran Hussain conducted a review meeting and field inspection today, joined by various departments and agencies, to ensure a seamless celebration of the upcoming religious festival of Eid-ul-Azha (Bakrid). Senior officers from the Departments of Revenue, Health, MCD, BSES, DJB, Fire Services, PWD, and Delhi Police were also present during the visit. Shri Hussain directed the officials of Delhi Jal Board to ensure proper drainage and uninterrupted water supply. He also discussed cleanliness matters with MCD officials while urging BSES to guarantee regular electricity supply throughout the festival.

Shri Imran Hussain issued strict instructions to the MCD regarding the provision of adequate sanitation manpower for the cleaning of streets and lanes. He emphasised the need for regular cleaning of the streets and directed officials to ensure utmost cleanliness in and around the Eidgah during the festival. Additionally, the Minister emphasised the deployment of a sufficient number of tippers for the prioritised disposal of garbage.

Shri Hussain assessed the readiness to provide essential and emergency services, including drinking water facilities, ambulance and fire safety provisions, and support for Civil Defence Volunteers to ensure a seamless celebration of Eid-ul-Azha. Shri Hussain further stressed the importance for the relevant departments and agencies to fulfil their assigned tasks in a professional manner, ensuring the smooth provision of public services during Eid-ul-Azha without any inconvenience.

Shri Hussain extended heartfelt greetings to all residents of Delhi on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, a festival that embodies joy, happiness, and harmony. This celebration symbolises the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Delhi.
