Delhi’s Food and Civil Supplies Minister & MLA from Ballimaran, Shri Imran Hussain attended the annual day celebration at Government Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, Idgah Road, Govt Boys Middle School, Model Basti and Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Quersh Nagar in Ballimaran Assembly constituency, on Saturday. These functions were also attended by Principal and school staff, School Committee members, invitees, guests and parents.

While addressing the students on this occasion Delhi’s Cabinet Minister Shri Imran Hussain said “There is no lacuna of talent among the children studying in our Government schools. As a result of the hard work of school teachers and students’ determination towards quality education, one day we will make India the No.1 country in the world with their talent.”

The annual day celebration at Government Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, Idgah Road commenced with the lighting of the lamp and performance of Saraswati Vandana. Addressing the students, the Minister appreciated the students’ determination to organize such a colorful cultural programme with great zeal and high spirits. The students performed festival-themed cultural programmes enthusiastically and enthralled the audience. The performance based on the school book ‘Gyan Dhara’ was also released by the minister.

The students of Govt Boys Middle School, Model Basti performed the Drama on the theme of the importance of Joint Family and geriatric care which also mesmerized the visitors. Minister assured the school authorities that the new school building will be constructed in view of the dense population of the area. The students of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Quersh Nagar performed drama on cyber fraud and awareness on how to prevent cyber fraud.

Minister Shri Imran Hussain also lauded the Education Department of the Delhi Government for its incredible achievements over the last eight years. He stated, “Over the last few years, the Delhi education model has become well-known and has been lauded throughout the country and elsewhere. Under the visionary leadership of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi Government has increased Delhi’s education budget to 25% and worked since day one to transform the Education system in Delhi.”

The Delhi Cabinet Minister congratulated school management and students on the annual festival of the school and said that quality education is the key to development in any field. The Minister further said that an educated person builds a better society and a developed nation. Ballimaran area is constantly moving forward in the field of quality education and the Government schools of Delhi are providing better education at par with private schools. The Minister assured school children that the new school buildings which are likely to be operational very soon conduct the classes on the same lines as model classrooms.

The annual day function also witnessed the distribution of Annual Prizes and Awards in the School. The academic toppers were awarded with the Medals and certificates of appreciation. In addition, the prizes for the Painting competition, Essay writing, Debate competition, Sports functions, Art and Craft Exhibition and prizes for other cultural events were also distributed by the Minister.

During this occasion, Minister Shri Imran Hussain appreciated the students’ determination to organize such a colorful cultural programme with great zeal and high spirits. The students performed cultural programmes enthusiastically and enthralled the audience.

The Minister also felicitated school teachers for their active participation in the betterment of the education model in Delhi. Shri Imran Hussain praised their work by stating, “The teachers of Delhi’s Government schools have done wonders in the country towards quality and competitive education.”

Shri Imran Hussain motivated the schoolchildren to attend their classes regularly. The Minister interacted with the students and shared, “Regularly attending the class helps children to cover their syllabus which also maintains the teacher’s morale. Today, I am feeling proud to see the confidence of Government school children and I can assure you that the science stream curriculum started in the school will be technically upgraded.”
