In a momentous development, a crucial meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Delhi’s Minister of Cooperation, Shri Raaj Kumar Anand, at the Delhi Secretariat. Notable attendees included the Chairperson of Delhi Khadi and Village Industries Board (DKVIB), Vijendra Garg, the Managing Director of DKVIB, along with officials from the Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS) and the General Manager of Delhi Consumer’s Cooperative Wholesale Store (DCCWS). The primary objective of this pivotal meeting was to deliberate and solidify potential collaborations between DCCWS Limited and Delhi Khadi and Village Industries Board (DKVIB), thereby elevating business activities on terms mutually agreed upon.

The DCCWS and the Managing Director of DKVIB presented their perspectives on the proposed collaboration. Managing Director DKVIB highlighted that DKVIB, being 100% funded by the Government of Delhi, aims to promote the welfare of poor artisans rather than profit-making. Currently operating with two outlets at Delhi Secretariat and Patparganj Industrial Complex, DKVIB expressed interest in collaborating to expand their outreach.

General Manager DCCWS provided insights into potential collaboration outlets at Gulabi Bagh and Lajpat Nagar, inviting DKVIB to inspect and determine the most suitable space for the joint venture.

After thorough discussions, it was mutually decided that a joint venture between DCCWS and DKVIB would be initiated, with one outlet chosen by DKVIB to run as a pilot project for 11 months. The terms of collaboration include DCCWS providing space without rent, DKVIB arranging interior setup, staff deployment, and product range for the outlet, with profits to be shared equally.

To oversee and facilitate this collaboration, two officials have been appointed as nodal officers. They will visit available DCCWS premises, decide the final outlet, and submit a comprehensive report.

During this time, Delhi’s Cooperation Minister Shri Raaj Kumar Anand shared, “This collaboration represents a positive step towards fostering entrepreneurship, supporting artisans, and promoting local industries in Delhi. Both entities look forward to the successful implementation of this joint venture, contributing to the socio-economic development of the region.”
