NEW DELHI | As directed by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Uttar Pradesh Prabhari and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, AAP karyakartas extended support to Ragini, a young girl from Ballia district. On Wednesday, party state spokesperson Sarvesh Mishra, Ballia district president Pradeep Yadav and general secretary Anjani Tiwari visited her home and provided her with a wheelchair, crutches, notebooks and pens, along with financial assistance of ₹25,000. Sanjay Singh also spoke to Ragini and her family over the phone, encouraged them and assured them of continued support.

AAP spokesperson Sarvesh Mishra, who visited Ragini, praised MP Sanjay Singh’s vision and said, “MP Sanjay Singh has further strengthened the spirit of service among all party workers. The way he has placed his hand on this child’s head gives us complete confidence that she will never lack anything in life.” Sarvesh Mishra said that under the guidance of the MP, the entire party remains ready to serve the oppressed and exploited sections of society across the state.
7-Year-Old Ragini Was Forced To Hop 400 Metres To School On One Leg
AAP UP Prabhari and MP Sanjay Singh stated that the story of seven-year-old Ragini, who lives in Ranipur in Dighera Gram Sabha of Manier block in Ballia, is deeply moving and inspiring. “A tragic accident when Ragini was only six months old took away one of her legs, but it could not break her spirit. The little girl would hop on one leg from her home to the school located 400 metres away,” he added.
Sanjay Singh said, “When we came to know about this brave girl, we decided that her physical disability would not be allowed to become an obstacle to her education or her journey.”
Wheelchair And Financial Assistance Are Only Beginning, Ragini Will Soon Reach Her Destination With Artificial Leg
Sanjay Singh said, “With the efforts of spokesperson Sarvesh Mishra and district president Pradeep Yadav, we contacted the girl’s family. As immediate relief, we have provided her with a wheelchair, crutches, notebooks and pens to make it easier for her to attend school, along with ₹25,000 in financial assistance.”
The AAP UP Prabhari announced that the Aam Aadmi Party would soon also arrange an artificial leg for Ragini. “Party workers will take her to ALIMCO (Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India) in Kanpur for the artificial leg so that she can stand and walk on her own without any support and move towards a bright future,” he noted.

Sanjay Singh said that the AAP is committed not only to politics but also to serving those at the last rung of society. He said, “There are many children in Uttar Pradesh who are struggling due to a lack of resources. For us, the smile of a girl like Ragini is greater than any electoral victory.”
Sanjay Singh also spoke to Ragini through a video call, enquired about her well-being, encouraged her and blessed her to study hard and move forward in life. Ragini’s family members expressed their gratitude to MP Sanjay Singh and the Aam Aadmi Party for this humanitarian initiative.
