Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Friday lauded the Punjab government’s decisive moves to bolster the state’s security and public welfare — from deploying anti-drone systems in vulnerable border zones to expanding the ‘Farishtey Yojana’ for free treatment of road accident victims and civilians harmed in terror or war-related incidents. Sharing the developments on X, the AAP Chief signed off with a resounding “Jai Hind,” underscoring the patriotic urgency of these interventions.
Sharing this, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal took to ‘X’ and stated: “Today, the Punjab Government has taken several extremely important decisions. To ensure the security of border areas, the AAP Government in Punjab will deploy an anti-drone system to prevent drone attacks. Alongside, the ‘Farishtey Scheme’ is being implemented, under which any person injured in an accident, terrorist incident, or war will receive complete medical treatment in the best hospitals. Jai Hind.”
On Friday, the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab convened a cabinet meeting during which several key decisions were made. In a significant move, the government decided to strengthen the security of Punjab’s border areas by procuring advanced anti-drone systems. Given that Punjab shares a 532-kilometre-long border, which frequently faces drone threats, the new system is expected to be a game-changer. The anti-drone system will prevent drones from hostile nations from entering Indian airspace. If any drone manages to cross into Indian territory, the system will immediately detect and neutralize it. The Border Security Force (BSF) will also be engaged to support these operations.
Another major step taken by the cabinet was to expand the ambit of the ‘Farishtey Scheme’. Previously, the scheme covered free medical treatment for victims of road accidents. Now, it has been extended to include civilians injured in acts of terrorism or war. In the event of a missile, bomb, or other attack from a hostile nation that injures residents of Punjab, the state government will ensure their treatment at the best hospitals, bearing the entire cost of care.
