Delhi State Convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party and Cabinet Minister Gopal Rai, on Tuesday, felicitated the Safai Karamcharis (Safai Karamcharis) of his Babarpur constituency during a special event at his office. Recognizing their invaluable efforts, Gopal Rai stated, “You have made a significant contribution to keeping Delhi clean and beautiful. It is our collective duty to honor the hard work of Safai Karamcharis.”
Highlighting his government’s commitment to their welfare, Gopal Rai added, “Under our administration in the MCD, we have made 8,500 Safai Karamcharis permanent in the last two years. Moreover, salaries are now being disbursed on time, unlike earlier when workers were forced to stage protests for their rightful dues.”
The Delhi State Convenor emphasized the important role of Safai Karamcharis in maintaining cleanliness and fostering a healthy environment in Delhi. “The role of our Safai Karamcharis is paramount in keeping Delhi clean and creating a hygienic environment. Their spirit of service is beyond praise. Cleanliness is service, and our Safai Karamcharis are performing a great service to the nation by undertaking this essential work.”
Gopal Rai also acknowledged their role in disease prevention, stating, “They are preventing the spread of diseases and ensuring a healthier environment for society.” During the event, he engaged directly with the Safai Karamcharis, listened to their grievances, and assured them of support. “You serve us selflessly. Whatever challenges you face, we are here to help you,” said Gopal Rai.
Gopal Rai highlighted the various welfare initiatives undertaken by the Aam Aadmi Party government for the benefit of the underprivileged. “Our government is committed to improving the lives of the poor by providing free and quality healthcare, free electricity and water, and excellent government schools where children from economically weaker sections are receiving better education,” he said.
Gopal Rai also emphasized the importance of mohalla clinics, which have been established to ensure accessible and affordable health services for all.
Speaking about the efforts to uplift Safai Karamcharis, Gopal Rai noted, “Since our government took charge of the MCD, we have made 8,500 Safai Karamcharis permanent in the last two years, and the remaining will also be made permanent. Today, they receive their salaries on time, unlike earlier when they had to stage protests for their dues.”
Gopal Rai underlined the collective responsibility of all citizens in achieving a clean and beautiful Delhi. “Only when people from all sections of society come together and work collaboratively can we create a cleaner and more beautiful city,” he concluded.
