आम आदमी पार्टी के वरिष्ठ नेता दुर्गेश पाठक ने कहा कि भाजपा शासित एमसीडी टैक्स में कई तरह से वृद्धि कर व्यापारियों का मनोबल तोड़ने की कोशिश कर रही है, जो दिल्ली के करीब 20 से 25 हजार व्यापारियों और ट्रेडर्स को प्रभावित करेगा। भाजपा शासित एसडीएमसी ने किराए पर ली गई वाणिज्यिक और औद्योगिक भवन पर 100 प्रतिशत टैक्स बढ़ा दिया है, खाली व्यवसायिक भवनों पर टैक्स में 50 प्रतिशत और खाली भूमि पर 66 प्रतिशत की वृद्धि कर दिया है। दुर्गेश पाठक ने कहा कि भाजपा शासित एसडीएमसी ने बैंक्वेट हॉल, मैरिज हॉल, होटल और गेस्ट हाउस पर 25 प्रतिशत टैक्स वृद्धि की है और एसडीएमसी ने भी स्कूलों पर 200 प्रतिशत से अधिक टैक्स बढ़ाया है। एसडीएमसी ने टेलीकॉम टावरों के लिए 200 प्रतिशत, क्लबों और मनोरंजन टाॅवरों के लिए 36 प्रतिशत टैक्स बढ़ाया है। उन्होंने कहा कि कोरोना के समय में भाजपा द्वारा किया गया यह कृत्य अमानवीय है और भाजपा अपने भ्रष्टाचार को छिपाने के लिए लोगों पर टैक्स में वृद्धि कर रही है। अपने भ्रष्टाचार के कारण भाजपा शासित एमसीडी अपने कर्मचारियों को वेतन नहीं दे पा रही है।
आम आदमी पार्टी के वरिष्ठ नेता दुर्गेश पाठक ने एमसीडी द्वारा टैक्स में बढ़ोतरी को लेकर भाजपा पर हमला बोला। पार्टी मुख्यालय में मंगलवार को हुई प्रेस कांफ्रेंस में दुर्गेश पाठक ने कहा कि पिछले 14 सालों से भाजपा के एमसीडी में भ्रष्टाचार और अक्षमता के कारण पूरी एमसीडी का दिवालापन निकल चुका है। उस दिवालेपन की भरपाई भाजपा के नेता इस कोरोना काल में आपदा को अवसर में बदल कर कर रहे हैं। आज भाजपा की एमसीडी के अंदर किसी भी कर्मचारी, कोरोना से लड़ रहे डॉक्टर, नर्स, शिक्षकों, सफाई कर्मचारियों और डेटा ऑपरेटरों सहित अन्य किसी को भी वेतन नहीं मिल रहा है। इसका एक ही कारण है और वो है भाजाप नेताओं का भ्रष्टाचार।
उन्होंने आगे कहा कि इस पूरी परिस्थिति का फायदा उठाने और भरपाई करने के लिए भाजपा शासित एमसीडी दिल्ली की जनता का खून चूंसने का काम कर रही है। हर 15-20 दिनों में वो टैक्स बढ़ाने का काम कर रहे हैं। साउथ एमसीडी में उन्होंने टैक्स बढ़ाया, ईस्ट और नॉर्थ एमसीडी के अंदर टैक्स बढ़ाने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं। आज साउथ एमसीडी के अंदर एक ऐसा नोटिफिकेशन जारी किया गया है जिसके द्वारा इस कोरोना काल के अंदर दिल्ली के बिजनेसमैन और अन्य लोगों का मनोबल, उनकी कमर तोड़ने का प्रयास किया जा रहा है। भाजपा के नेता चोर दरवाजे से साउथ एमसीडी की जनता के ऊपर टैक्स ला रहे हैं, जिसके तहत लगभग 20 से 25 हजार बिजनेसमैन लोग प्रभावित होंगे।
दुर्गेश पाठक ने आगे कहा कि बहुत सारे टैक्सों को बढ़ाने का प्रस्ताव भाजपा की एमसीडी ने पास कर दिया है। जितनी भी वाणिज्यिक औद्योगिक बिल्डिंग हैं, जो किराए पर हैं, उनपर लगभग 100 फीसदी टैक्स बढ़ा दिया गया है। वाणिज्यिक औद्योगिक बिल्डिंग, जो खाली पड़ी हैं उनका टैक्स एमसीडी ने 50 फीसदी बढ़ा दिया है। खाली पड़ी जमीन और फॉर्म हाउस पर 67 फीसदी टैक्स बढ़ा दिया है। शादी घर, बारात घर, होटल और गेस्ट हाउस पर 25 फीसदी टैक्स बढ़ा दिया है। स्कूल और शिक्षण संस्थानों पर 200 फीसदी टैक्स बढ़ा दिया है। साउथ एमसीडी के अंदर आने वाले टेलीकॉम टॉवरों पर 200 फीसदी टैक्स बढ़ा दिया गया है। मनोरंजन के सभी साधन जैसे क्लब आदि पर लगभग 36 प्रतिशत टैक्स बढ़ा दिया।
उन्होंने आगे कहा कि साउथ एमसीडी के अंदर आने वाले 20 से 25 हजार कमर्शियल यूनिटों पर भाजपा मनमाने तरीके से 100 प्रतिशत, 200 फीसदी, 50 फीसदी, 67 फीसदी और 25 फीसदी टैक्स बढ़ा रही है। कोई जगह ऐसी नहीं है जहां इन्होंने टैक्स न बढ़ाया हो। यह बड़े गुनाह और अमानवीयता का काम है। कोरोना काल महामारी में पिछले आठ महीनें में ठीक से लोगों की दुकानें नहीं खुली हैं, उनके काम खत्म हो गए, लोगों का दिवाला निकल गया है। ऐसे समय में अमानवीय तरीके से टैक्स बढ़ाना बहुत ही गलत और निंदनीय है। इससे भाजपा का असली चरित्र लोगों के सामने आ गया है। भाजपा जब 2017 में दिल्ली में एमसीडी में जीती थी, तो उनके मुखिया मनोज तिवारी ने कहा था कि हम न तो कोई टैक्स बढ़ाएंगे और न ही कोई नया टैक्स दिल्ली की जनता पर लगाएंगे। लेकिन आज आज उनकी पार्टी दिल्ली की जनता का खून चूंसने में लगी है।
दुर्गेश पाठक ने आगे कहा कि पिछले साल स्टैंडिंग कमेटी के सदस्य भूपेंद्र गुप्ता ने टैक्स बढ़ाने के सभी प्रस्ताव रद्द कर दिए थे। लेकिन आज भाजपा ने चोर दरवाजे से दिल्ली की जनता को लूटने का प्रयास शुरू कर दिया है। पिछले 14 सालों से भ्रष्टाचार और अक्षमता से जो परिस्थिति एमसीडी के अंदर पैदा हुई हैं उसकी भरपाई भाजपा दिल्ली की जनता का खून चूंसकर करना चाहती है। यह गलत है, आम आदमी पार्टी यह नहीं होने देगी, पार्टी इसे लेकर जनता के बीच जाएगी।
प्रेस कांफ्रेंस में मौजूद आप के साउथ एमसीडी के नेता विपक्ष प्रेम सिंह चैहान ने कहा कि मेयर अनामिका जी ने कुछ दिन पहले कहा था कि हम निगम को आत्मनिर्भर बनाना चाहते हैं। मैं उनको बताना चाहता हूं कि यह आत्मनिर्भर बनने का रास्ता नहीं है। हमने उनको पहले भी बोला था कि हम आपको आत्मनिर्भर बनने की क्लास दे सकते हैं। इस तरीके से तो दिल्ली की जनता का खून चूंसने का काम किया जा रहा है। भाजपा के नेता सिर्फ यह सोचते रहते हैं कि किस तरीके से दिल्ली की जनता को परेशान किया जाए।

Addressing a press conference today, AAP senior leader and MCD in-charge Shri Durgesh Pathak condemned the BJP for imposing arbitrary tax hikes on the public for the BJP-rule MCDs. He said that BJP ruled SDMC has hiked various taxes which will affect nearly 20,000-25,000 businessmen and traders of Delhi. Shri Durgesh Pathak said that the BJP-ruled SDMC has increased taxes by 100% for the commercial and industrial rental units and the taxes for commercial vacant buildings has been increased by 50%, and for vacant land, it has been increased by 67%. He said that BJP ruled SDMC has increased tax for banquet halls, marriage halls, hotels, and guest houses by 25%, along with increasing taxes on education sites such as schools by 200%. He said that BJP ruled SDMC has hiked taxes by 200% for telecom towers, and for clubs and entertainment places by 36%. Condemning the tax hike, Shri Pathak said, “The BJP wants to level its corruption and incompetence in the MCD in the last 14 years by looting the people of Delhi. The Aam Aadmi Party will not let this happen, and it will go amongst the people and mobilize them against this wrongdoing. The people of Delhi will not bear this arbitrary decision of the BJP and we are opposing this decision.”
Shri Durgesh Pathak said, “Because of the corruption and incompetence of the BJP in the MCD in the last 14 years, the MCD has gone bankrupt and the BJP is trying to turn this into an opportunity. All employees of the BJP-led MCD, be it a doctor, nurse, data entry operator, teacher, or anybody else no matter wherever they work, are not getting their salaries. The reason is only one – the corruption of the BJP leaders. You must have seen in the last few months, the BJP is attempting to trouble the people of Delhi to take advantage of the situation in the time of Corona. Every 15 days or month, you must have observed that they are trying to increase taxes. They have increased taxes in the South MCD and are trying the same in North MCD and East MCD. Now, they have issued a notification in South MCD which will raise serious difficulties and break the morale of the businessmen and people of Delhi who are working day and night to earn their livelihoods. The BJP leaders are levying heavy taxes on the people of South MCD, which is affecting around 20000-25000 businessmen and their businesses. They have passed the proposal to increase a number of taxes. The tax on all the commercial/industrial rental buildings has increased by 100%, and on commercial vacant buildings, it has increased by 50%. The taxes on vacant land, be it commercial, residential or farmhouses, etc, have increased by 67%. Everyone knows that the poor people use banquet halls and baraat ghar the most because of their affordability, and the taxes on banquet halls, baraat ghars, hotels, guest houses have been increased by 25%. The taxes on education sites which are schools and fall under category A-F have been increased by around 200%. The taxes on telecom towers in the South MCD area have been increased by 200%, and in entertainment places, the taxes have been increased by 36%. You can clearly see that they have increased the taxes on all commercial units in the South MCD area in an arbitrary manner, and there is not a single commercial place on which they have not increased taxes. This is a crime and is inhumane. Today, when the whole country and the world is fighting with Corona, people are filing bankruptcy and the shops and businesses have not opened properly in the last 8 months, increasing taxes like this is condemnable, and shows the true face of the BJP.”
“When the BJP came in power in 2017 MCD elections, their chief Shri Manoj Tiwari had said that they would not impose or increase any arbitrary taxes. Last year, Shri Bhupendra Gupta, who was the Chairman of the standing committee at that time, had also canceled all proposals and said no taxes will be increased, but today, they have started looting the public of Delhi through a thieving door. The BJP wants to level its corruption and incompetence of the BJP in the MCD in the last 14 years by looting the people of Delhi. The Aam Aadmi Party will not let it happen, and it will go amongst the people and mobilize them against this wrongdoing. The people of Delhi will not bear this arbitrary decision of the BJP and we are opposing this decision,” he added.
Shri Prem Singh Chauhan, LoP, SDMC said, “A few days back, Mayor of SDMC, Anamika Ji, had said that they want to turn the municipal corporation into a self-reliant entity. I want to tell her that this is not a way to be self-reliant, and we have told them before that we are ready to teach them how to be self-reliant. But through this way, you are trying to trouble and loot the people of Delhi. The leaders of the BJP are trying to find all ways to trouble the people of Delhi and to extract money out of them. Last year, Bhupendar Gupta Ji had announced that they will cancel all the taxes, then why this today? They only want to collect money and do corruption.”
