With just three days left until March 8—the deadline for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ₹2,500 monthly allowance promise to Delhi’s women—the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) once again sent the reminder to the BJP to fulfill its promise. On Wednesday, former MLA Rituraj Jha, MLA Prem Chauhan, and AAP workers staged demonstrations across Delhi, forming human banners on key flyovers while holding banners reading “Bas 3 Din Aur.”
The AAP reminded the BJP of its commitment and questioned whether the promised amount would reach women’s accounts on time. Rituraj Jha pointed out to BJP’s repeatedly turning “Modi’s Guarantees” into “jumlas,” vowing that this time, AAP would ensure women receive what was promised.
Senior AAP leader Rituraj Jha said that during the Delhi Assembly elections, on January 30, at a rally in Dwarka, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, had stated that as soon as the BJP forms the government in Delhi, the first Cabinet meeting would approve a scheme to provide ₹2,500 per month to the mothers and sisters of Delhi. He also assured that on March 8, International Women’s Day, the first installment of ₹2,500 would be deposited into the accounts of all women.
“During his speech, Modi ji had also declared that this was ‘Modi’s Guarantee’, which would be fulfilled,” the AAP leader, stated that today, in every street and neighborhood of Delhi, mothers and sisters are asking, “Modi ji, only three days remain until March 8—when will we receive our ₹2,500?”
Rituraj Jha stated, “PM Modi must answer when the promised funds would be deposited into women’s accounts. Across Delhi, from flyovers to foot overbridges, human banners are being formed, questioning the BJP and PM Modi about the ₹2,500 that was guaranteed for women.”
He further said that mothers and sisters across Delhi are waiting with hope, asking when PM Modi will deliver the ₹2,500. With just three days left, if the BJP fails to fulfill Modi’s guarantee by transferring the money into women’s accounts, similar protests will continue in every street and corner of Delhi. “Every worker of the AAP will fight tirelessly, both on the streets and in the Assembly, to ensure that Delhi’s mothers and sisters receive their ₹2,500. This is a commitment to uphold PM Modi’s own guarantee,” affirmed the AAP leader.
Rituraj Jha emphasized that, for the first time, the people of this country will witness the AAP forcing the BJP to honor PM Modi’s guarantee. Until now, the BJP has consistently turned PM Modi’s guarantees into ‘jumlas’ (empty promises), but this time, the AAP will not allow it to become just another ‘jumla’.
“The AAP will fight from the streets to the Assembly to ensure that PM Modi’s guarantee is fulfilled. On Wednesday, the AAP staged demonstrations across Delhi by forming human banners on flyovers,” asserted the AAP leader.
