In a startling revelation regarding the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his wife Sunita Kejriwal has pointed out that NDA MP Magunta Sreenivasulu Reddy has fabricated statements under the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) pressure to protect his son. Delhi CM’s wife highlighted that Magunta Reddy falsely implicated the CM to secure bail for his son, who was in jail. She highlighted that Magunta Reddy admitted his sole meeting with CM Kejriwal was in a public setting on March 16, 2021, questioning the plausibility of bribery in such circumstances. Urging the people of Delhi to rally behind their CM, son and leader Arvind Kejriwal, Sunita Kejriwal affirms that her husband is a victim of political machinations. “We must stand with him,” she said.
Delhi CM and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal’s wife, Sunita Kejriwal, issued a video message addressing the people of Delhi and said, “Your beloved CM Arvind Kejriwal has been arrested on the false statement of an NDA MP Magunta Sreenivasulu Reddy. Magunta Reddy is an NDA MP from Andhra Pradesh. On 17 September 2022, the ED raided Magunta Reddy’s premises. ED asked him if he had ever met Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. On this, Magunta Reddy said that he met Arvind Kejriwal on 16 March 2021 at his office in Delhi Secretariat.
“He wanted to open a family charitable trust in Delhi, and he had gone to talk to the Chief Minister about land for the trust. During that time CM Arvind Kejriwal told him that land-related matters in Delhi come under the Lieutenant Governor (LG) and he should give his application form to the chief minister, and they will see. CM Arvind Kejriwal left after saying this,” she said.
Delhi CM’s wife continued, “The ED did not like Magunta Reddy’s answer. A few days later, ED arrested Magunta Reddy’s son Raghav Magunta. After this, many more statements were taken from Magunta Reddy. In every statement, Magunta Reddy kept repeating his earlier statement, because that was the truth and his son Raghav Magunta Reddy’s bail kept getting rejected. During this time, Raghav Magunta’s wife tried to commit suicide and his old mother’s health deteriorated. Seeing all this, Magunta Reddy got broken for his son Raghav Magunta, and on 17 July 2023, Magunta Reddy changed his statement in ED.”
Sunita Kejriwal further added that in his new statement, Magunta Reddy said that on March 16, 2021, he went to meet CM Arvind Kejriwal, and his meeting with CM Arvind Kejriwal lasted barely 4-5 minutes. During that time, 10-12 people were sitting near CM Arvind Kejriwal. He said, ‘As soon as I entered the office, CM Arvind Kejriwal told me to start the liquor business in Delhi and in return give ₹100 crores to the AAP. This was my first and last meeting with CM Arvind Kejriwal’.
Sunita Kejriwal mentioned that the very next day after this statement of Magunta Reddy, ED got his son Raghav Magunta Reddy bailed. It is clear that this statement of Magunta Reddy is false. Magunta Reddy himself has said that this was his first and last meeting with CM Arvind Kejriwal and 10-12 people were also sitting there. If someone had to ask for money from someone, would he ask for money from a stranger in front of 10-12 people in the first meeting itself? It is clear that Magunta Reddy’s son and family were tortured badly for five months. That is why Magunta Reddy gave a false statement against CM Arvind Kejriwal to save his son Raghav Magunta. Raghav Magunta got bail within two days of giving this statement.
CM Arvind Kejriwal’s wife affirmed that one thing has become clear from all these statements Magunta Reddy gave a false statement to get his son out of jail. The court also accepted while granting bail to CM Arvind Kejriwal that ED took the statement without any proof by giving the ‘lollipop of bail’. “Your son Arvind Kejriwal has been made the victim of a deep political conspiracy. Arvind Kejriwal is a normal, educated, patriotic and staunchly honest person. If the people of Delhi do not stand with Arvind Kejriwal today, then educated and honest people will never come into politics in this country,” she expressed.
