“Only the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) can make your electricity bill zero,” declared Arvind Kejriwal, AAP’s National Convenor, during fiery public meetings in Gurugram and Rewari. Rallying for AAP candidates from Haryana’s Badshahpur (Gurugram) and Rewari assembly constituencies, Bir Singh Sarpanch and Satish Yadav respectively, the AAP Supremo blasted the BJP, highlighling that while Delhi and Punjab enjoy free, round-the-clock electricity, BJP-ruled states suffer under the costliest power.
The AAP chief challenged PM Modi and the BJP, Match AAP’s achievements in education and healthcare, or admit BJP’s failure to serve the people. On this occasion, AAP Haryana State President Dr Sushil Gupta, and other senior leaders of the party were present.
AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal said that the BJP kept me in jail for five months. They tortured me mentally, and physically in jail. Once they stopped my medication. I am diabetic and need 4 injections of insulin everyday. I do not know what they wanted to do with me but they stopped my injections for 15 days. “I am blessed that the BJP could not harm me. They wanted to break my spirit and will, but they didn’t know that I am from Haryana. You can break anyone’s spirit, but not of Haryanv’s son ,” he affirmed.
The AAP Supremo reasoned that what was my fault, for the BJP arrested me? My fault is that for 10 years, I have been serving the people of Delhi honestly. My fault is that I gave Delhi 24×7 electricity, there used to be 8 hours of power shedding before I became the Chief Minister. Inverters and generators have become obsolete in Delhi. I have provided Delhiites 24×7 free electricity. There are no power cuts. People do receive electricity bills, but the bills have become zero.
“Haryana gets very expensive electricity and only Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP can make it free. People should think about themselves and their homes in this peak of inflation and not about some candidate when they go out to vote. There are only two states in the country where electricity is free; Delhi and Punjab. I guarantee the first thing I would do when we form a government in Haryana is to provide free electricity,” asserted Arvind Kejriwal.
He stated that the BJP has a government in Haryana. They are in power in 22 states, and electricity there is the most expensive, people are struggling to pay the bills. We have a government in two states and electricity is free in both. “Is the one who makes electricity expensive crooked, or the one who makes it free for the people? The BJP is looting the people by increasing electricity rates and they call me dishonest, while I am the one providing free electricity to people,” reasoned the AAP chief.
Arvind Kejriwal shared, “My fault is that I built excellent schools for the children of Delhi. Government schools in Haryana are in a dilapidated state. No one wants to send their children to these schools but they do it out of compulsion. Resembling the government schools of Haryana, earlier, Delhi schools also used to be in a bad shape, tin roofed that would leak in rain and drown the classrooms, and an absence of focus on studying.”
But today, Arvind Kejriwal continues, “Delhi government schools have become so remarkable that 4 lakh students have withdrawn their admission from private schools to take admission in Delhi government schools in the past 3 years. PM Modi wanted to stop the schools and free electricity of Delhi, that is why he jailed me. Vote for the AAP and we will build and nurture a future for your children.”
The AAP Supremo reasoned that no party would ask for votes on the promise of building a future for children. It’s been 75 years of independence and no leader or party asks for votes on issues like schools. These politicians build a future for their children as soon as they get into power. I am here to provide the children with a future, provide them with education and jobs.
“I have provided jobs to 12 lakh youth in Delhi because I am honest and I know how to provide jobs. As soon as they come to power, the other politicians loot and collect enough money for their seven generations to come,” added Arvind Kejriwal.
The AAP chief stated that I am at fault for transforming Delhi hospitals into excellent ones, and providing free treatment to Delhiites. It’s free in Delhi whether it’s a Rs. 5 medicine tablet or Rs. 30 lakhs operation. I have provided free pilgrimage facilities including travel, lodging, boarding, etc to the elderly of Delhi. One lakh elderly have been taken to Rameswaram, Vrindavan, Puri, Haridwar, and other holy places.
“How can someone who does so much work for the people be corrupt? PM Modi felt that first I formed a government in Delhi, then Punjab, our candidates became MLAs in Gujarat and Goa, now I would form a government in Haryana and so he wanted to stop me. PM Modi is a big man with big money and power. I told him to build 5,000 Mohalla Clinics, instead he wants to shut the 500 I have built in Delhi. This is wrong,” he asserted.
Arvind Kejriwal added that he is the Prime Minister of the country. I’ve built 700 schools in Delhi, then he should build 70,000 schools across the country, school for every child. Rather, he wants to jail me and shut the 700 schools I’ve built. This doesn’t suit the Prime Minister of our country. He should leave me behind in work, but should not stop the work I do by jailing me.
“Today, I am giving five guarantees to the people of Haryana, and these are Arvind Kejriwal’s guarantees, not fake ones. The first guarantee is free electricity and a 24×7 supply; we will waive outstanding bills. The second guarantee is to build excellent hospitals and Mohalla Clinics. The third guarantee is to establish excellent schools,” Arvind Kejriwal promised.
The AAP Supremo added, “My fourth guarantee is to provide a monthly allowance of Rs.1,000 to every woman above 18 years of age. The fifth guarantee is about employment; in Delhi, I have provided jobs to 12 lakhs youth. I know how to provide jobs and will ensure jobs for your children. In Punjab, we have already provided 45,000 government jobs and arranged for 3.5 lakh private jobs.”
Arvind Kejriwal said that people might be thinking that I’m making such big promises, but is our government really coming to power in Haryana? I say that if they had released me three or four months earlier, we would have formed the government. Even now, they released me just 10 days ago, but the AAP is still winning enough seats that no government can be formed in Haryana without us.
The AAP National Convenor continued, “There are drainage issues and broken roads in Badshahpur assembly. When the AAP comes to power, we will fix the drainage system, rebuild the roads, and end the contract system for sanitation workers. Bir Singh Sarpanch (AAP candidate), is one of your own, and he is consistently engaged in social work. So, vote for people who live among you. When we win the Badshahpur seat, I will come back to thank you.”
“Whatever government is formed in Haryana, it will be with the support of the AAP. It will be my responsibility to ensure that all five guarantees are fulfilled by that government,” concluded Arvind Kejriwal.
Meanwhile, AAP Haryana State President Dr. Sushil Gupta stated that the AAP is known for bringing about systemic change. In this country, during elections, issues like America, Pakistan, and Hindu-Muslim were usually discussed. Arvind Kejriwal talked about schools, hospitals, electricity, and water for the first time in the country’s politics. After 78 years of independence, if we still cannot provide basic services, then we have no right to remain in power.
“The people of Delhi elected an honest government, and that honest government made all the schools in Delhi world-class. When the U.S. President’s wife comes to India, she visits Arvind Kejriwal’s schools. In Delhi, 400,000 children left private schools and enrolled in government schools,” he asserted.
The AAP Haryana State President said that the Apex Court called the CBI a puppet of the BJP-led central government and stated that the government misused its power to arrest Arvind Kejriwal. Arvind Kejriwal had absolutely no connection with the case. When Arvind Kejriwal came out of jail, he said, ‘when Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya after his exile, Mother Sita had to undergo a trial by fire. These corrupt people have also accused me. I cannot live with this accusation’. Arvind Kejriwal fought against them, but now he will go to the people of Delhi and undergo his trial by fire. ‘I will only sit on Delhi’s throne when the people of Delhi declare that I am honest’.
