The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has condemned the circulation of a fake audio clip by BJP leaders. AAP has called out the BJP for spreading lies and distractions to deflect attention from critical issues like Delhi’s worsening law and order situation.
Senior AAP leader and AAP Rajya sabha MP Sanjay Singh slammed the BJP, calling it the ‘Bharatiya Jhootha & Jhagda Party’ and criticized its leaders for violating court orders by circulating the fake audio clip.
During a press conference in the party headquarters on Saturday, senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha Sanjay Singh launched a sharp attack on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He stated, “The party that calls itself the world’s largest has proven two things about itself. These have now firmly taken root in the hearts and minds of the Indian people—that the BJP has become the ‘Bharatiya Jhootha Party’ and the ‘Bharatiya Jhagda Party’.”
Sanjay Singh further remarked, “BJP’s sole aim is to lie and provoke quarrels to achieve its ultimate goal of destroying the nation. True to this principle, the ‘Bharatiya Jhootha Party’ has once again presented a new lie, a new drama, which the media has broadcast without verification.”
Sanjay Singh reasoned that Why AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal has been consistently raising concerns about Delhi’s deteriorating law and order situation. He said, “Women are being dragged on the streets and losing their lives. Convenor Arvind Kejriwal has been highlighting these critical issues, but instead of addressing them or curbing crime in Delhi, Amit Shah is solely focused on targeting Arvind Kejriwal.”
He added, “Gangrapes and gang wars are happening in Delhi. Mafia rule is going on. Traders are being shot, and women are being dragged on the street and killed. Amit Shah is engaging in all sorts of conspiracies and schemes against Arvind Kejriwal to divert attention from real issues. And to divert attention, the BJP has only one weapon: lies.”
Referring to a recent development, Sanjay Singh said, “Today, the BJP presented an audio clip that is entirely fake. The audio clip has no authenticity, and the Delhi High Court has imposed a stay on it. Despite this, the Bharatiya Janata Party—once again, I must call it the ‘Bharatiya Jhootha Party’—has circulated this clip.”
He further remarked, “The head of their IT cell, along with Delhi BJP State President Virendra Sachdeva and BJP National Spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia, are promoting this falsehood, disregarding the High Court’s ruling on the matter.”
Sanjay Singh emphasized that the Delhi High Court’s order clearly prohibits the circulation of the audio clip in question. He said, “Yet, despite the court’s directive, how did the BJP circulate this audio clip? The court must take action against them.”
He further pointed out that a similar attempt was made on August 17, 2023, when a media channel aired the same audio clip, alleging it to be a conversation between Kapil Sangwan, a gangster, and Naresh Balyan, an Aam Aadmi Party MLA.
Highlighting the inconsistencies, Sanjay Singh stated, “Delhi Police themselves have confirmed that Kapil Sangwan has a red-corner notice issued against him and that his whereabouts are unknown. A person whom the Delhi Police cannot locate, who is wanted under a red-corner notice, and whom even Amit Shah cannot trace—how can he be involved in this so-called conversation?”
He stated, “This audio clip is fake and fabricated. By using this false audio clip, the BJP is attempting to defame the Aam Aadmi Party and divert attention from real issues, such as the deteriorating law and order situation in Delhi.”
The Rajya Sabha member asserted, “Delhi needs to be safe. As the nation’s capital, it must be secure. This is the issue at hand, but instead of addressing it, the BJP is engaging in distractions. They attempted the same tactic in the Maharashtra elections by circulating a fake audio clip, and now they are doing it again in Delhi. One year later, they are re-circulating the same audio clip from August 2023, despite a High Court stay.”
He further stated that legal action would be taken against every BJP member who circulates the audio clip. “Defamation cases will be filed against them, and they will be summoned to court. Whether someone is an MLA or not, no individual is exempt from accountability,” he said.
Concluding his remarks, Sanjay Singh said, “What the BJP has done today is a clear violation of court orders. Once again, the party, which I now call the Bharatiya Jhootha Party (Indian Lying Party), has proven itself to be the biggest propagator and fabricator of lies in the world. The BJP has shown, yet again, that it deserves this name.”
