The Aam Aadmi Party has postponed the public meeting of National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, which was scheduled to be held in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, on Thursday. The meeting is being organized to thank the people for giving a spectacular victory to the Aam Aadmi Party candidate from the Doda assembly seat. The public meeting will now be held this coming Sunday.
Arvind Kejriwal shared this information with the people of Jammu and Kashmir in a video message posted on social media platform X on Thursday. Arvind Kejriwal said, “I had left home to come to Doda with Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann. On the way, I learned that the code of conduct is still in force there, so we had to cancel the tour. The event will now take place in Doda on Sunday, and I will come with the CM of Punjab to meet you all personally.”
Posting the video message on X, Arvind Kejriwal added, “First of all, I want to thank you for electing my younger brother Mehraj Malik as your MLA with a huge vote. Mehraj Malik is a noble person who has been serving the people for a long time. You gave him a chance this time, and to express my gratitude, I was going to come to Doda on Thursday (October 10) to meet you personally. I had left home on Wednesday and reached the airport, but then I was informed by the administration that the code of conduct is currently in force in Jammu and Kashmir and will remain in place until this evening.”
Arvind Kejriwal explained that due to the enforcement of the code of conduct, he and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann could not visit Doda on Thursday. However, Mehraj Malik informed them that the same event would be held again on Sunday. Therefore, he reassured, “I will come with the Chief Minister of Punjab to meet you all personally. I apologize for not coming today, but it was beyond my control. We did not want to take any action that could lead to Mehraj Malik’s disqualification or cause any legal complications. For this reason, we could not come on Thursday, but we will definitely meet you all on Sunday.”
