Today, children of Delhi’s government schools are studying well and topping exams like IIT, JEE and NEET: Manish Sisodia

  • September 15, 2024

In a decisive move echoing the stance of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, his former Deputy Manish Sisodia has firmly rejected any government position before securing justice from the ‘public’s court’. Taking to his ‘X’ handle, Manish Sisodia emphasized he didn’t enter politics for power, slamming his 17-month imprisonment on false charges as a product of petty politics. Despite the Supreme Court clearing him to return to work, the Ex-Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi remains resolute in his stand against corruption and the pursuit of justice over office.

Ex-Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi posted on his ‘X’ handle (erstwhile Twitter): “I came into politics to work honestly for education. I worked honestly as Delhi’s education minister for 10 years. I built schools. I built new universities.”

His post further read, “As the Education Minister of Delhi, I worked with the mantra that India cannot become a developed nation without providing the best education in government schools. The result of ten years of hard work is visible that today even in the government schools of Delhi, children are studying brilliantly and topping exams like IIT, JEE, and NEET.”

“I worked honestly but attempts were made to prove me dishonest by making false allegations against me under petty politics – I was kept in jail for 17 months on false charges. After two years of legal process, now even the country’s top court has told me to go and do my work. But I will not sit on the chair of Deputy Chief Minister-Education Minister right now. I did not come into politics here for the greed of chairs and posts,” read the post.

“I have come to work honestly on education. I have also decided that I will go to the public court along with Arvind Kejriwal ji and ask whether the public considers me honest or not. Elections are to be held in three-four months. Only if the public approves my honesty, I will sit on the chair of Deputy Chief Minister-Education Minister and work for education. Jai Hind!” concludes Manish Sisodia’s post.

Earlier, senior AAP leader and Ex-Deputy CM Manish Sisodia addressed the party workers and public at AAP’s new headquarters located at Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla Lane Marg in Lutyens Zone.

During this, Manish Sisodia said, “We all are very happy and excited about this because Arvind Kejriwal is not only the hope of the AAP workers but also of the whole country. Arvind Kejriwal is the hope of every person who feels that their children should get a good education, and in case of illness, they should get such treatment for which he does not have to sell his house. Arvind Kejriwal is the hope of the people who are employed and want that they should continue doing his job or business honestly, they should not have to give bribes in any government work, and politics should be able to free them from inflation.”

“Today every person is happy who wants to raise their family and children well, wants to live in an honest country and who dreams that India should be a country of honest politicians who have a strong vision for the country and keep the country united like a fist. Arvind Kejriwal kept the AAP united in such a big crisis, so today people expect that Arvind Kejriwal is the only person who can keep the whole country united,” affirmed the Ex-Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi.

Manish Sisodia shared that I am roaming all over Delhi. I go to different assembly constituencies among the people. People hug me and say that it is good that you have come out. These people (BJP) were doing wrong to you. They had crossed all limits. When every mother, sister and child hugged me, they used to say that you have come, now you should bring Arvind Kejriwal also quickly. In every street and locality, people used to say only that you have come, now you should bring Arvind Kejriwal also.

“When I was in jail, I was thankful to God that he brought us into politics and handed us over to such a leader, whose vision, honesty and leadership are taking us all forward. Under the leadership of CM Arvind Kejriwal, every citizen of the country and every worker and leader of ours are moving forward, he shared.

The Ex-Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi mentioned, “I got a chance to work as the Education Minister, Finance Minister, and Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi. I thank God for this, but more than that, thank God because he gave me a chance to work under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal. This is a matter of great pride for us.”

Wondering why despite working all these years with honesty, AAP was accused of corruption, Manish Sisodia said that when I was in jail, I used to think a lot that we built schools, and hospitals, and worked honestly. Earlier, Delhi’s budget used to be Rs 30,000 crore annually, but there was tax evasion in it, big people used to evade taxes. We stopped that evasion and Delhi’s budget increased from Rs 30,000 crore to Rs 60,000 crore to Rs 75,000 crore. In such a situation, we were accused of dishonesty and corruption.

The former deputy chief minister said I used to laugh and think that if we had to do corruption, the party could have amassed a lot of money. “If we did even one per cent or 0.1 per cent corruption in the budget which increased from Rs 30,000 crore to Rs 60,000 crore rupees, the party would have kept contesting elections for many generations,” he said.

Manish Sisodia said I wondered why I was forcibly put in jail without doing anything. Then it came to my mind that God must have thought that He would send some leaders of our party to jail so that the unity, patience and vision of the Aam Aadmi Party could be tested. “Today Arvind Kejriwal is amongst us, so I say on behalf of our MPs, MLAs, councillors and workers that we all have passed this Agni Pariksha,” he said.

Manish Sisodia said that it was our Agni Pariksha that our leaders were sent to jail. When big parties send a leader to jail, governments fall, and parties break. “But the Aam Aadmi Party remained united because our leader and we had not done anything wrong,” he said.

Manish Sisodia said forget about any leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, not even a single worker of the Aam Aadmi Party in the whole of Delhi can take bribes from anyone. Not to mention leaders, BJP people will not find any of our workers who have asked for a cup of tea from any businessman or a person to get his work done during our 10 years of rule. This is the strength of the Aam Aadmi Party.

Manish Sisodia said that they made false allegations against us. Delhi government used to get Rs 6,000 crores from the Excise Department, but under the new policy, it was guaranteed to get at least Rs 9,000 crores. And they accuse Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia of committing corruption.

He said the BJP was hatching the biggest political conspiracy in the country to put an elected Chief Minister and his team in jail and finish the party. But as the saying goes, truth is God and God is power. “If you are truthful and are walking on the path of truth, then you are walking on the path of God. And when you are walking on the path of God, then the power of God is with you. Today the power of God is with Arvind Kejriwal and all of us,” said Manish Sisodia.

The former deputy chief minister said that the BJP people had scripted a Manohar Kahani (Interesting story) called liquor scam. The Supreme Court put a full stop to that interesting story by granting bail to Arvind Kejriwal. That story is now over. This is a happy ending for us and a sad ending for the BJP. Because they thought that Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh would not be allowed to come out before the Delhi elections. “But God is there, and their fake ‘interesting stories’ were proved false in the court. Today Arvind Kejriwal is out, and I am also out. Sanjay Singh is also out and there is enthusiasm among the Aam Aadmi Party workers,” he said.

Manish Sisodia said that it is a very happy occasion for all of us that today we are all sitting together once again in our new party office. AAP will start a new journey from today. “For the same honesty, patriotism and honest governance for which we came to fight, we will start a new journey from here. I hope that in this, every worker and every supporter of AAP will walk shoulder to shoulder with Arvind Kejriwal and all of us,” he said.

Manish Sisodia shared, “I am a small man from a small village in the Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh. My father was a teacher and I studied in the village itself. I never thought that I would enter politics. Whenever a leader used to come to my village, it seemed that such a big man had come. We were living a normal life. After completing schooling there, I came to Delhi and studied journalism. I worked in radio and TV.”

“Even then I never thought that I would ever join politics or the government. But due to the love of the people and hard work of the workers and the trust in Arvind Kejriwal, a person like me got the opportunity to work as the Education Minister of Delhi. I got vision, guidance, freedom and authority from Arvind Kejriwal, due to which I got the opportunity to do such work that today if anyone from Kashmir to Kanyakumari sits at a ‘dhaba’ (roadside restaurant) and tells that they’re from Delhi, then people praise that very good work is being done in education there. Arvind Kejriwal is doing excellent work,” stated the Ex-Education Minister of Delhi.

Manish Sisodia mentioned, We got a chance to be a part of that team and change, there can be no greater fortune than this after coming into politics. “I am very grateful to God that he gave me this opportunity. Even while I was in jail, I treated it as an opportunity. I neither felt sad nor felt any pain. I considered it an opportunity given by God in which I could read something, meditate a bit and get ready for the fight ahead. To get ready for the next phase of the fight, for the hard work we have been putting in.

During this, senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said that the dictator of the country, PM Narendra Modi and the BJP hatched thousands of conspiracies to defame, bow down and break the AAP and to defame our leaders, but our workers under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal faced those conspiracies and broke them. There was horse-trading of MLAs in the whole country, big parties broke up, and governments were toppled. The fear of ED-CBI was shown. Now the country’s Supreme Court has said that CBI-ED are the caged parrots of PM Modi and Amit Shah.

“Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain were arrested and I was kept in jail for six months at the behest of PM Modi and Amit Shah. But the AAP is a party born out of a movement. No matter how much BJP, the Prime Minister and Amit Shah try, AAP is not going to break, stop or bow down. Rather, we will move forward with even greater strength. Today, we feel both pity and sympathy for the mindset and intellect of the BJP members. After the Supreme Court’s decision, if they have even a little shame, they should demand Amit Shah’s resignation, as it was on his orders that Arvind Kejriwal was arrested,” concluded the AAP MP.

From the moment a passenger enters an airport to the moment they leave it after their journey, India’s aviation experience is anything but a smooth landing.

Sky-high ticket prices, endless delays, unaffordable food, exorbitant baggage charges and poor air connectivity - travel leaves a common man’s budget in turbulence.

He urged the Hon’ble Union Civil Aviation Minister to address these pressing challenges faced by air-passengers.
