The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has unleashed a fierce attack on the BJP, calling it out for orchestrating a smear campaign using a vehicle with a fake number plate. Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh pointed out that on Wednesday, a Creta car bearing a Punjab registration was strategically parked outside Punjab Bhawan, loaded with AAP pamphlets, posters, and cash—a ploy to discredit the AAP and Punjab government. However, the number plate belonged to a Ford EcoSport registered in the name of an Army officer.
“It’s impossible for such a vehicle to move freely in Delhi without BJP and police protection,” Sanjay Singh charged, demanding an Election Commission probe into BJP’s desperate bid to tarnish AAP’s image.
Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, in a press conference at the party headquarters on Thursday, said that due to BJP’s low-level politics, a campaign to malign various state buildings in Delhi will now begin. Wednesday’s incident has proven that even state buildings in Delhi are no longer safe. “These people can place bombs anywhere or orchestrate any incident. In its pursuit of dirty politics, the BJP is capable of anything. It hasn’t been long since January 26. Wednesday’s events proved that the BJP-led central government and Amit Shah were the biggest threats on Republic Day,” he added.
The senior AAP leader further added, “A vehicle with a fake number plate is roaming freely in Delhi. Any terrorist can enter Delhi with a fake number plate and carry out a major attack. Where is the Election Commission sleeping? How did such a major incident happen in Delhi?”
Sanjay Singh questioned how this could have happened without the protection of the BJP and Delhi Police administration. How was it possible for a fake Hyundai Creta to be parked in front of Punjab Bhawan? AAP pamphlets and posters were displayed in the vehicle. “Cash and liquor were shown inside the vehicle. The fake Hyundai Creta’s registration number is PB35AE1342. Not only this, but in their dirty and lowly politics, they are also defaming an army officer,” said the AAP MP.
Sanjay Singh said, “The entire nation must know about BJP’s disgraceful actions. In its bid to malign the Aam Aadmi Party, the BJP is also tarnishing the image of an army officer.”
Sanjay Singh further stated that when the Punjab government inquired about this vehicle, they confirmed that no Hyundai Creta was even registered in their fleet. In other words, the Punjab government had never rented such a vehicle for official use.
“When further investigations were conducted, it was revealed that the vehicle was registered under the name of Major Anubhav Shivpuri of the Army Dental Medical College in Pathankot. Major Anubhav Shivpuri served in Pathankot for three years and is currently stationed in Pune, Maharashtra,” revealed the AAP MP.
Questioning the Election Commission, Sanjay Singh asked whether this is how elections are being conducted in Delhi. Such incidents are taking place under the Election Commission’s watch in the New Delhi assembly constituency, where a fake-number-plate vehicle is being used to defame the AAP, the Punjab government, and Punjab Bhawan. “Tomorrow, BJP members might plant bombs in Tamil Nadu Bhawan or trigger an explosion in Bengal Bhawan. BJP’s dirty politics knows no bounds—they can do anything,” he asserted.
Sanjay Singh stated, “If Modi and his party are targeting state buildings in Delhi just to tarnish opposition-led governments, nothing could be more shameful. The Election Commission must take immediate cognizance of this incident and investigate which BJP members were involved. The driver of this vehicle is missing, yet the vehicle was somehow unlocked by itself.”
