AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal sounded the alarm over BJP’s plans to revive the controversial farm laws. Campaigning for AAP candidates in Haryana, the AAP supremo reminded voters of his support during the farmers’ protest and pointed out the BJP leaders’ bad intentions.
He cited MP Kangana Ranaut’s statement advocating the reintroduction of the laws and slammed Ex-Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar for dismissing protesting farmers as “fake.” Arvind Kejriwal urged voters to deliver a decisive blow at the ballot box and block any return of the farm laws.
Earlier, AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal held a traders’ meeting in Hisar, followed by public meetings in Meham and Bhiwani to support AAP candidates Vikas Nehra and Indu Sharma, representing the Meham and Bhiwani assembly constituencies, respectively. During this, AAP Haryana State President Dr. Sushil Gupta was present.
Addressing a massive public rally at Meham, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal spoke about his roots in Haryana and his association with Meham. “My maternal uncle lives in Meham. I did my primary schooling from Campus School and intermediate studies from DN College in Hisar. I was a bright student. I secured 6th position in class 11 and class 12 in Kurukshetra University. After that I went to IIT Kharagpur to get my engineering degree. After that I went to Delhi to join the Income Tax Department and worked there as Commissioner,” he said.
Arvind Kejriwal said after leaving Hisar, your son made Haryana proud. Today your son’s government is in Delhi and Punjab. “My place of birth, Haryana, is situated in between. Give your son, your brother a chance to serve the people of Haryana,” he said.
The AAP chief said these rogues (BJP) kept me in jail for 5 months and harassed me in various ways. They stopped my medicines. I am a diabetic patient, who needs insulin shots four times a day. They stopped my insulin. I had to get the court direction for supply of insulin. “They thought they would break Kejriwal’s will. They don’t know that a person from Haryana does not give in. Nobody can bend Kejriwal, a person from Haryana never breaks,” he said.
Arvind Kejriwal said they sent me to jail because I have been working honestly for the welfare of the people of Delhi for the last 10 years. No political leader or political party in the country has done as much in the last 75 years as I did in the last 10 years in Delhi. When I took over as chief minister of Delhi, there used to be long power cuts of 7 to 8 hours a day. Now, power is supplied 24×7 in Delhi _ people have stopped buying invertors and generators. Now Delhi gets 24-hour supply and electricity for free. This has been done in Punjab as well.
As for the electoral promises made by various parties to provide free electricity in Haryana, Arvind Kejriwal said, “No political party can provide electricity for free in Haryana, only Kejriwal can do it. Other political parties are making tall claims that they will provide 300 units of electricity for free. They cannot do it. They have governments in so many states, have they done it any of the states ruled by them. They make false promises. But I have done it in Delhi and Punjab.”
The AAP National Convenor said they accuse me of corruption. They (BJP) have governments in Haryana, Gujarat, UP, Rajasthan, MP, Chhattisgarh and other states, power is very expensive in all the states run by them. Our government is in Delhi and Punjab where electricity is for free. “Is the one who is supplying electricity for free corrupt or the one who provides it at a higher price? It costs Rs 3000 crore to provide free electricity in Delhi. Had I been dishonest, I would have pocketed the money the way they (BJP) do it. So, who is corrupt?” he reasoned.
Arvind Kejriwal said he has been told that there are three government schools in Meham and they are in a pathetic condition. All government schools in Haryana have gone to seed and nobody wants to send their children to them. Earlier, the government schools in Delhi were also in a bad state. We have made government schools in Delhi so excellent that parents are getting their children discharged from private schools and admitting them in government schools. I am asking for votes based on my performance. I live for the country, and I am committed to my country with every breath in my body.
“If you don’t believe me, call up your relatives living in Delhi and know for yourself about the condition of government schools in Delhi. If they say Kejriwal has made outstanding schools, then only vote for me, otherwise not. We have made exceptional schools in Delhi and Punjab, we will make excellent schools in Haryana as well,” he said.
The AAP National Convenor said we have set up Mohalla clinics and built excellent government hospitals in Delhi. Whether you need medicines worth Rs 5 or treatment of Rs 20 lakhs, everything is for free in Delhi. No party will ask for votes, promising good schools and excellent health institutions. They will ask for votes in the name of caste and religion and rob you. They have so much money that their generations will sit at home and enjoy life.
“Now, their children are being given election tickets. I have come to know that one of the sons of a politician has got the ticket from Meham. What is Vikas Nehra’s (AAP candidate) shortcoming? His only fault is that his father is not a political leader. My father was not a politician either. The people of Delhi made me win, you make him win,” he appealed.
Arvind Kejriwal said my fault is that I send my elderly people of Delhi on pilgrimage for free. Till now I have sent 1 lakh elderly people of Delhi on pilgrimage to Ayodhya, Rameswaram, Puri, Dwarkaji, Vrindavan, Haridwar and Rishikesh. They give so many blessings to my Delhi. Today I am fighting with Modi as I have the blessings of the elderly people of Delhi with me.
The AAP supremo mentioned, “The Prime Minister thought that Kejriwal is doing so much work, so stop his work. So, they (BJP) caught all our party leaders one after the other and put them in jail one by one. They decided to attack Kejriwal’s honesty. They made false allegations against me and accused me of being corrupt. After coming out of jail, I am going around Delhi to meet people. “No one is buying that Kejriwal is corrupt. They say Kejriwal cannot be dishonest.”
The AAP National Convenor said that after my release from jail, I resigned. I said let the people of Delhi decide whether Kejriwal is honest or not. I am not power hungry. In today’s times, no one leaves his job of a peon, I have given up my chair. “If the people of Delhi feel that Kejriwal is honest, they will vote for me and make me win and then only I will occupy the CM’s chair,” he said.
Arvind Kejriwal stated, “Today, I am giving five guarantees to the people of Haryana, these are Arvind Kejriwal’s guarantees, not fake guarantees. The first guarantee is that I will make electricity free and give 24×7 supply; will waive off the outstanding bills. The second guarantee: I will build excellent hospitals and Mohalla clinics. The third guarantee is to build outstanding schools.”
The fourth guarantee: will give honorarium of Rs 1000 per month to every woman above 18 years; and the fifth guarantee is to provide employment to youth in Haryana. (I have arranged employment for 12 lakh youth in Delhi, I know how to give jobs.
The AAP National Convenor said people ask whether AAP is going to come to power in Haryana. “No one’s government is being formed in Haryana without us. Whichever government is formed in Haryana will be formed with the support of the Aam Aadmi Party. Make us win the seats of Bhiwani and Meham, whichever government is formed, it is my responsibility to get work done from them,” he said.
Arvind Kejriwal said during the farmers’ protest, I served for 13 months at the Delhi border. When Prime Minister Modi understood that the three farm laws may result in his electoral defeat, he took back those laws. But the alarm bells have started ringing again as their intentions are bad. Bharatiya Janata Party leader Kangana Ranaut has demanded that all the three farm laws be implemented again. As Sushil Gupta told, today Khattar sahab’s statement has come that the people sitting at Shambhu border are not real farmers, they are fake. This time press the button (on EVM) in such a way Khattar sahab will feel that he is not the real Khattar, he is a fake Khattar,” said Arvind Kejriwal.
During this, AAP Haryana State President Dr. Sushil Gupta said that Arvind Kejriwal gave a new direction to the country’s politics. Arvind Kejriwal told the world that if the country has to be developed, then honest politics will have to be done regarding electricity, water, education, medical care and employment.
The AAP Haryana State President continued, “Arvind Kejriwal quit his job as commissioner of income tax and fought for the poor and got the RTE law passed. Then he started fighting against corruption and formed the AAP to change the system. After that, he formed the government in Delhi and built the best schools and hospitals in the world and gave employment to the youth.”
He said that when the three nefarious agricultural laws were passed, the central government asked for the stadium in Delhi to convert it into a jail, then Arvind Kejriwal said, ‘These are the farmers of the country. I will not give an inch of land in Delhi to build a jail for them’. When Arvind Kejriwal showed his work in Delhi, PM Modi put all the leaders of the AAP in jail. But he locked up Arvind Kejriwal but could not shut down his thinking.
“The Supreme Court also said that Arvind Kejriwal has nothing to do with this case, BJP has misused the agencies. Then Arvind Kejriwal, after coming out of jail, resigned from the post of Chief Minister for the second time and went to the court of the people and said, ‘if the people of Delhi ask me, I will sit on this chair. BJP tried a lot to break Arvind Kejriwal but could not bend him’. Yesterday again, at the behest of BJP, MP Kangana Ranaut gave a statement that the three agricultural laws should be reintroduced again,” mentioned the AAP Haryana State President.
“I assure you that we will use all our strength from the streets to the Parliament, but will not let this law come back. Today Manohar Lal Khattar said that there are masks on Shambhu border and not farmers. I want to tell the BJP that Arvind Kejriwal’s soldiers are with the farmers. If you speak this language for the farmers, then the farmers will chase you away,” concluded Dr. Sushil Gupta.
