Arvind Kejriwal hits the ground running after his return from jail. On Thursday, alongside Former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, CM Atishi, and area MLA Dilip Pandey, he inspected the crumbling Delhi University road, vowing to fix not just this road, but every stalled project in the capital.
“They tried to stop Delhi’s progress by sending me to jail. But now, I’m back, and nothing will halt the city’s development,” AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal declared, aiming at the BJP.
The road passing in front of the North Campus of Delhi University in the Timarpur assembly constituency has heavy traffic congestion, especially during peak hours. This road has been damaged in many places. During the inspection, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal also took information from local MLA Dilip Pandey about other broken roads in his assembly constituency. The MLA said that there is another road which needs repair. Apart from this, there are some roads in the jurisdiction of MCD, for which the process of work allocation is going on for repair. There are about 36 projects, out of which 30 have been approved.
During this time, while talking to the media, AAP Supremo Arvind Kejriwal said, “Two-four days ago I met one of their (BJP) big leaders. I asked him what they gained by arresting me. I was very shocked to hear that leader’s answer. That leader told me that by arresting you, the Delhi government has derailed, and Delhi has come to a standstill.”
The AAP chief further added, “I was very sad to hear his answer and was shocked that was their motive behind arresting me only to bring Delhi to a standstill? Was their motive behind arresting me to derail the Delhi government? Was their motive behind arresting me to trouble the people of Delhi and create problems for the people of Delhi?”
Addressing the people of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal affirmed, “Now that I have come, you don’t worry. All your pending work will start again. All the problems will be solved. We just came to inspect the road passing in front of DU’s North Campus. There is a water pipeline under this road. The road has broken due to this pipeline. This road is used a lot by people. I have talked to CM Atishi about the repair of this road. Now this road will be repaired soon. Apart from this, we will inspect all the broken roads inside Delhi and get them repaired.”
Responding to media questions, Arvind Kejriwal said that these people aimed to stop the work of Delhi and defame the AAP government. But we will not let the work of the people of Delhi stop. Now I am out of jail. Now all the stopped work will start again. Our government was always in action mode, I was in action mode even in jail.
Sharing a video clip from this inspection, Arvind Kejriwal posted on his ‘X’ handle (erstwhile Twitter) stating: “They had stopped the work of Delhi by sending me to jail. Roads were also damaged. That was their purpose. Today I inspected a road in Delhi University with CM Atishi. This road will also be repaired soon, and the rest of the roads in Delhi will also be repaired soon. Now I am back, the people of Delhi should not worry. All the stopped work in Delhi will be done.”
On the other hand, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi tweeted: “Today, I inspected the Vishwavidyalaya Marg road with Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia. The road is in a very bad condition. It will be repaired soon. BJP had conspired to bring Delhi to a standstill by arresting Arvind Kejriwal. But Delhiites’ son Arvind Kejriwal is now back among the people, under his guidance the stalled work of Delhi will be completed at double the speed.”
