In a desperate bid to win the standing committee elections in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), the BJP is back to its old tactics of poaching AAP councilors. Crores of rupees are being dangled, and those who resist are being threatened with harassment by the ED and CBI.
AAP MLAs Durgesh Pathak, Sanjeev Jha, and the husband of AAP councilor Rinku Mukesh Solanki, Mukesh Solanki, in a press conference, have openly exposed the BJP of trying to bribe their councilors, with shocking claims of offers worth two crores and MLA tickets, as well as intimidation tactics.
AAP MLA and MCD in-charge Durgesh Pathak said that on one hand, honest politics is being championed in the country under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal. After a false allegation, Arvind Kejriwal said that until I pass the ‘Agni Pariksha’ (trial by fire) in the ‘public court’, I would not sit on the chair of the Chief Minister and he resigned.
The AAP MLA from Rajinder Nagar continued, “There isn’t a single example in the entire world where a Chief Minister, after successfully running the government from jail, defeating the BJP’s conspiracy, and securing relief from the country’s Supreme Court, chose to resign to uphold moral and principled politics, even though he could have continued his term.”
“On the other hand, the other politics is going on under the leadership of BJP. In this politics, lies, deceit, dishonesty, fraud, breaking of parties and buying MPs, MLAs and councilors are going on,” he added.
The MCD in charge mentioned, “About 1.5 years ago, the people of Delhi made the AAP win the MCD elections with a huge majority. The BJP people kept fighting in the House for three to four months, it even led to a scuffle. They arbitrarily appointed 10 Alderman and wanted to force them to vote in the House, but the court stopped it. After this, they (BJP) are continuously working to break the councilors.”
“These (BJP) people are offering Rs. 50 lakh to 2 crore to our councilors. Also, they (BJP) are threatening that if our councilors do not join their party, they will harass them with ED-CBI,” shared Durgesh Pathak.
Durgesh Pathak, citing the example of AAP councilor Ram Chander from Bawana, said that BJP people forcibly made him join their party by threats of the ED-CBI. When he returned to AAP after two days, BJP people abducted him from his house. Similarly, many incidents have come to light in the last few days, in which BJP people are constantly trying to break our councilors by adopting every trick including by hook or by crook.
“We have told all our councilors that if anyone comes to you, then record everything they say. Because it is very important to expose this corrupt party. BJP should give up its dirty politics. The public has defeated them, so now they want to buy our councilors with the money earned from corruption,” asserted the MCD in charge.
Meanwhile, AAP MLA from Burari Sanjeev Jha, while giving information about the incident of BJP people contacting AAP councillors in his constituency, said that BJP is a ‘gang’. Its work is to steal MLAs, kidnap councilors and stoop to any level for power. From the very first day, the BJP is conspiring to destroy the support base of AAP in MCD and to remain in power by any means.
“Right now there is an election for the standing committee of MCD. There are three AAP councilors from my assembly constituency. Sundar Tanwar, who is a BJP candidate, went to one of the councilors. Sundar Tanwar offered him Rs 2 crore and a MLA ticket in exchange for joining the BJP. And said that If he doesn’t join the BJP, the ED-CBI will harass him. Sundar Tanwar also said that the Chief Minister of Goa also wants to come and talk to you. Similarly, he is going to the other councilors and trying to buy them by threatening them,” shared the AAP MLA from Burari.
Sanjeev Jha said that the BJP people cannot break or buy AAP councilors so easily. Now there is a need to expose the BJP among the people by recording it on camera.
On the other hand, the husband of AAP councilor Rinku Mukesh Solanki from Bawana, Mukesh Solanki, said that on Thursday I received a call from some acquaintances who asked to meet me. “I was asked to vote for BJP in the standing committee elections. I have been in the BJP for 15 years. When pressure was put on me on Thursday, I had to tell the senior leaders of my party. We are honest people. We will not break or sell ourselves. We are with Arvind Kejriwal with full loyalty and will not betray the party,” he affirmed.
