Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders have paid tribute to CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury on his demise. Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh and Delhi Cabinet Minister Atishi visited the CPI(M) office at AK Gopalan Bhavan to pay tribute to CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury after his untimely demise and met the family to share their grief.
At the same time, many other AAP leaders including former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, National General Secretary (Organisation) and MP Dr. Sandeep Pathak, and MP Raghav Chadha expressed grief on the untimely demise of Sitaram Yechury on their respective social media handles and paid tribute. The AAP says that he will always remain alive in the voice of laborers, farmers and youth.
Senior AAP leader and former Deputy CM of Delhi Manish Sisodia (@msisodia) posted on X, “I am deeply saddened to hear the news of Sitaram Yechury’s demise. He was a great leader, a true socialist and an extraordinary humanitarian. His demise is a great loss to our country’s politics. My tributes and condolences are with his family and party.”
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann posted on ‘X’: “Deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Sitaram Yechury ji. His demise is a tremendous loss for the country’s political landscape. I pay my heartfelt tribute to him and offer my sincerest condolences to his family, colleagues, and comrades.”
AAP’s National General Secretary (Organization) and MP Dr. Sandeep Pathak also said on his X account: “Sitaram Yechury’s demise is an irreparable loss for the country’s politics. Tearful tribute to him. On behalf of myself and the entire Aam Aadmi Party family, I extend our deepest condolences to his bereaved family and relatives.”
At the same time, after meeting the family of Sitaram Yechury, MP Sanjay Singh said “It is truly an unbelievable incident that the pioneer of Indian politics, CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury, has bid farewell to all of us. It’s hard to believe. For me personally, he was like an elder brother. He was a strong voice in the INDIA alliance, a powerful voice against hate, and stood firmly for the rights of farmers, laborers, and the youth. His untimely demise is an irreparable loss to the country and its politics. On behalf of the Aam Aadmi Party, I bow my head and offer my tribute to him, along with every worker and leader of the party.”
Sanjay Singh said that I have also met Prakash Karat and Brinda Karat. “We, along with our leaders, will be there to pay our respects. Once again, I pray to God to grant peace to his soul and give his family the strength to bear this immense pain, as well as the strength for each worker of the CPI(M) to endure this loss. Sitaram Yechury Ji will always live on in the voices of laborers, farmers, youth, and in every voice that rises against communalism.”
On this, senior AAP leader and cabinet minister Atishi shared on ‘X’ handle: “The demise of CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechury is a big loss for Indian politics. My tribute to Yechury ji, who became the voice of the common people and dedicated his entire life to protecting their interests.”
Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha member Raghav Chadha (@raghav_chadha) in a post on X said, “Deeply saddened by the passing of veteran CPI-M leader and a distinguished Parliamentarian, Sitaram Yechury Ji. He was admired across party lines for his intellect, excellent articulation of his party’s positions and a deep-rooted passion for people’s causes. A firebrand speaker and yet gentle colleague, one with a piercing speech yet an amicable bond with everyone, he was a true comrade. His unwavering commitment to the working class and his contributions to Indian politics will be remembered for a long long time.
“I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to work closely with him over the last decade. This loss is personal. My heartfelt condolences to his family and comrades,” his post concluded.
