The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) strongly condemned BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri for using extremely obscene and derogatory language aimed at the female Chief Minister of Delhi and other female politicians in the past. Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh called out the BJP for endorsing such behavior and highlighted the party’s disregard for women’s dignity. Sanjay Singh contrasted the BJP’s values with those of Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP, emphasizing AAP’s commitment to women’s safety and respect.AAP senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh strongly condemned BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri for using “extremely obscene and derogatory language” to insult the female Chief Minister of Delhi. He stated, “I believe there is no other example like this. A person involved in politics using such filthy language for a woman Chief Minister is unprecedented.”During a press conference, commenting on Ramesh Bidhuri’s remarks, senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said that the BJP candidate remarked that Atishi has “changed her father.” Questioning the BJP’s conduct, Sanjay Singh asked, “Is this what PM Modi teaches BJP members? Is this the kind of training you provide? This abusive language, this culture of hooliganism—this is the language BJP leaders speak day and night.”Sanjay Singh stated that CM Atishi’s father is an eighty-year-old man, in old age and suffering from illness. He questioned, “And in such a condition, is the BJP abusing him?”He further stated that the BJP has a history of endorsing individuals who use abusive language. He remarked, “His qualification is that he hurled abuses in Parliament. He even made another objectionable remark against a Congress Party leader, Priyanka Gandhi.” Sanjay Singh added that it was a ‘shameful remark’ as well. The AAP senior leader continued, “They can contest elections against us—that’s fine. But when it comes to respecting women, Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP do not compromise. Respect for women is our top priority.” Sanjay Singh emphasized that the AAP had issued a strong statement condemning Ramesh Bidhuri’s behavior, and every leader of AAP spoke out against it. He also highlighted that regarding the objectionable remark made against Priyanka Gandhi, AAP leaders unanimously expressed their disapproval.Sanjay Singh criticized the Congress leaders, saying it was shameful that two senior leaders from their own party—Ajay Maken and Sandeep Dikshit—had not spoken a single word condemning Ramesh Bidhuri’s remarks. He called their silence ‘wrong’ and questioned their intentions.Referring to the matter further, Sanjay Singh stated that their silence raises serious doubts about their association with the BJP. He remarked, “This is your character; this is what you are doing. Doesn’t it make it clear that Ajay Maken and Sandeep Dikshit are closely connected with the BJP? They have such deep relations that they don’t have the courage to utter a single word against Ramesh Bidhuri.”He further pointed out that even if they didn’t want to address Atishi’s case, they could have at least spoken up about the objectionable remarks made against Priyanka Gandhi. Instead, he said, “They remain silent—completely quiet.”“This is why we keep saying that there are some leaders in the Congress Party who follow the BJP’s script, and Ajay Maken and Sandeep Dikshit are prominent among them,” added Sanjay Singh. He further pointed out that ever since Ramesh Bidhuri began using abusive language, including targeting the elderly father of an elected woman Chief Minister—who is 80 years old—the BJP leadership has appeared delighted. Sanjay Singh remarked, “They think, ‘This person (Ramesh Bidhuri) is the best and most talented individual in our party because he uses such fine abuses for women.’”Sanjay Singh highlighted the initiatives of Arvind Kejriwal, saying that he has introduced measures like ₹2100 allowances for women, free bus rides for mothers and sisters, and the installation of CCTV cameras across Delhi to ensure women’s safety and dignity. In sharp contrast, he criticized the BJP’s priorities, stating, “But for the BJP, Ramesh Bidhuri is the ideal because he abuses women. This is the mentality of the BJP. This is the thinking of PM Modi and the top BJP leaders.”He continued, “They (BJP) have made up their minds that the true face of the BJP, the real face of its Chief Ministerial candidate, is Ramesh Bidhuri. It is now for the people of Delhi, for mothers and sisters, to decide. Do you want Arvind Kejriwal as your Chief Minister, who provides free bus rides for women, organizes pilgrimage trips for the elderly, announces a ₹2,100 Mahila Samman Yojana’, and stands firmly for the dignity of women by setting up a network of CCTV cameras in Delhi? Or do you want someone like Ramesh Bidhuri, who hurls abuses at women, as your Chief Minister?”Sanjay Singh stated that the people of Delhi must make a choice, as Ramesh Bidhuri’s continued use of abusive language suggests that the BJP is preparing to project him as its Chief Ministerial candidate. He concluded by saying, “The BJP is going to make Ramesh Bidhuri its CM face because he fulfills all the ‘qualifications’ that the BJP requires.”On Congress’s announcement of an honorarium for women, Sanjay Singh remarked, “In Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal is the guarantee. He has provided free electricity, water, education, and healthcare. He made bus travel free for mothers and sisters and organized free pilgrimage travel for the elderly. Despite all these efforts, he presented a profit-driven budget. People trust what Arvind Kejriwal says. There are many other parties that will make announcements, but they will only speak to gain attention.”Addressing Prime Minister Modi’s comments about the “Aapda”, Sanjay Singh pointed out, “If you ask any Punjabi, ‘Whose Delhi is it?’ they will say, ‘Delhi is AAP da’ (Delhi belongs to AAP).’ In Punjabi, it becomes ‘AAP da Delhi.’ Delhi is Aam Aadmi Party’s, and even PM Modi acknowledges this fact.”Sanjay Singh continued, “Recently, PM Modi has been facing many accidents, and I sympathize with him for that. However, I want to say that his abusive rhetoric will not lead to any results.” He concluded by saying, “The people of Delhi are ready to ensure the BJP’s bail bonds are confiscated.”
