‘Why is Prime Minister Narendra Modi silent on the U.S. President Donald Trump’s claim of brokering a ceasefire during Operation Sindoor?’ The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has slammed BJP-led Central Government double standards on foreign policy. “By refusing to call out Trump’s falsehood, Modi is undermining the self-respect and sovereignty of free India,” Saurabh Bharadwaj said, adding that the Prime Minister should have had the courage to state plainly that Trump is lying.
Drawing parallels with PM Modi’s cryptic statements during the China standoff, he remarked that the Prime Minister spares no vitriol when attacking opposition leaders but becomes unusually cautious when dealing with foreign powers.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, AAP Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj delivered a scathing critique of Prime Minister Modi’s foreign policy and public statements. He said, “We’ve been listening to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for many years now. Even when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he used to make direct remarks about the Prime Minister of that time. Over the past 10–11 years, he has maintained one consistent approach: he never spares opposition leaders. He makes the harshest personal allegations, issues pointed statements, and launches aggressive attacks. That is his natural style. But when it comes to foreign powers, his tone dramatically shifts.”
Saurabh Bharadwaj further said, “When China captured nearly 4,000 sq. km near Galwan, PM Modi was speaking in riddles. He said, ‘no one came, no one entered the border.’ Even then, he should have spoken clearly about China. And now again, he is afraid to name President Trump or the United States. His fear is clearly visible.”
“This undermines the dignity and self-respect of the nation—that the Prime Minister of independent India is afraid to take the name of the President of the United States. He should say, ‘Trump, you are lying.’ PM Modi, tweet about Trump, write a letter, or release a video. What are you afraid of,” he asked.
