The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has called out Prime Minister Narendra Modi for turning Operation Sindoor—still ongoing—into a self-promotional campaign. Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said while families of women who lost their sindoor in Pahalgam remain in mourning and the terrorists are still at large, PM Modi is busy branding himself as ‘Sindoor ka Saudagar’, even printing his image on railway tickets. He added that the country will not forget Pahalgam—or the missed chance to seize PoK and support Balochistan’s separation.
Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, addressing a press conference at the party headquarters on Friday, stated, “Long ago, a film called ‘Saudagar’ was released, starring Dilip Kumar and Raj Kumar. It was a widely talked-about movie. On Thursday, a new film was released in which the hero, the villain, and the comedian are all PM Narendra Modi. The name of this film is ‘Sindoor ke Saudagar’.”
He continued, “On Thursday, PM Modi claimed that hot sindoor flows through his veins. In Pahalgam, sindoor from the foreheads of our sisters has been wiped away, and mourning still fills their homes—yet the Prime Minister is busy with his political publicity.”
Criticising PM Modi for using tragedy as PR while terrorists remain at large, Sanjay Singh further stated, “In the all-party meeting, the BJP-led central government declared that Operation Sindoor is ongoing. Yet, the savage terrorists who desecrated the sindoor of our sisters in Pahalgam have still not been caught. Despite this, Narendra Modi, with lights, camera, and action, turned himself into the Sindoor ke Saudagar and released the film.”
He pointed out that while mourning engulfs the homes of those women, PM Modi is busy plastering his photos across the country. “Can Prime Minister Narendra Modi tell the nation what position he holds in the military? Is he a Colonel, a Brigadier, or the Chief of the Army? PM Modi is only interested in marketing, and his people are printing posters all across the nation,” he added.
Sanjay Singh further added that it is shameful that Operation Sindoor hasn’t even ended and the terrorists who ravaged the sindoor of our sisters in Pahalgam are still alive. Even before the mission’s conclusion, Narendra Modi had already printed his photograph on railway tickets under the Operation Sindoor label and launched his publicity campaign.
“Where does the Prime Minister get such cruelty from? What drives his obsession to turn every incident into electoral gain? Twenty-six people were killed in Pahalgam, the sindoor of our sisters was desecrated, and while all parties were attending the all-party meeting, Narendra Modi left it to campaign at a rally in Bihar,” shared the AAP MP.
Sanjay Singh continued, “After Operation Sindoor, Narendra Modi found time to campaign in Bihar, address Bollywood stars in Mumbai, attend an inauguration in Kerala where he made light-hearted and humorous remarks, and inaugurate projects in Andhra Pradesh. But he didn’t have time to attend the second all-party meeting after Operation Sindoor.”
The Rajya Sabha MP shared the latest edition of such happenings, “On Thursday, PM Modi crossed all limits when he said in a campaign rally that hot sindoor runs through his body. Operation Sindoor is not over, those brutal terrorists have not yet been caught, and the entire nation is demanding answers from PM Modi—where are the terrorists?”
He said, “Narendra Modi claims that the Indian Army courageously destroyed nine camps, killed over 100 terrorists and their aides, and delivered a strong reply to Pakistan’s attack. But when there was a real opportunity to capture Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and, like Bangladesh, separate Balochistan from Pakistan, Modi declared a ceasefire on the instructions of U.S. President Trump and stopped the battle.”

Sanjay Singh stated that President Trump publicly claimed five times that he halted the India-Pakistan conflict by threatening to cut off trade. Did Narendra Modi take this decision at President Trump’s request? And why has he not refuted his statements?
He further added that Will the President of the United States, Donald Trump, now decide the fate of India’s self-respect, dignity, and sovereignty? Will he decide the future of the Indian Army? President Trump claimed that he threatened a trade shutdown, but India is home to 1.44 billion consumers, the world’s largest democracy, and the fifth-largest economy—should we be afraid of such threats? Why hasn’t Narendra Modi responded to any of these questions?
Sanjay Singh continued, “Narendra Modi may have released his film Sindoor ke Saudagar and put up Operation Sindoor posters across the country. His BJP party is busy campaigning, and they’ve practically made him a Brigadier, Colonel, or Chief of the Army. PM Modi, wearing spectacles and a cap, is roaming the country saying, ‘Our sisters lost their sindoor—just give me one vote.’ Whether in Bihar, Bengal, or anywhere else in India, all Narendra Modi wants is one vote.”
He appealed to the people of India, “Do not forget the sindoor that was wiped from the foreheads of our sisters in Pahalgam. Do not forget that, according to President Trump’s own claim, Narendra Modi missed the opportunity to take PoK and separate Balochistan just to avoid a trade fallout. Do not forget this betrayal.”
“The public must not fall into this drama, farce, and political theatrics. Operation Sindoor is being advertised on railway tickets while the operation itself is not yet over. This is deeply shameful—and the public can clearly see it. Narendra Modi, for the sake of elections and votes, is willing to go to any extent and adopt any tactic. He has no shame, modesty, or remorse,” stated Sanjay Singh.
