At his Delhi rally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stayed silent on his ₹2,500 promise, drawing sharp attack from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for betraying Delhi’s women. AAP Delhi Unit President Saurabh Bharadwaj said PM Modi had pledged before elections to deposit ₹2,500 in every woman’s account by 8th March, but not a single rupee has arrived. Women expected him to honour his word, yet he didn’t speak a word on it — a betrayal that has dented his respect among Delhi’s women.
During a media interaction on Sunday, AAP Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj stated, “About six to seven months ago, PM Modi had come to Delhi. At that time, he promised nearly one crore women of Delhi that before Women’s Day (6th March), ₹2,500 would start being deposited into their accounts every month.”
The AAP Delhi Unit Chief said, “Today, the women of Delhi were hoping that the Prime Minister had come to fulfil this promise. But the Prime Minister did not say a word about the promise of ₹2,500. Because of this, the respect and regard that Delhi’s women had for the Prime Minister has gone down significantly. To forget such a promise and to forget a so-called ‘Modi Ki Guarantee’ is a very bad thing.”
