Interacting with the elderly pensioners, Delhi Assembly Deputy Speaker Rakhi Birla and senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Dilip Pandey assured them that their monthly pension will be increased soon after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal comes out of incarceration.
The pensioners of Delhi thanked and blessed CM Arvind Kejriwal for getting the pension of the elderly resumed by fighting with the BJP’s central government even while being in jail. In the program ‘Bujurgon ka rakhe khayal, jeete raho Kejriwal’ (Takes care of the elderly, long live Kejriwal) organized at Shah Auditorium on Monday, senior AAP leader and MLA Dilip Pandey and Delhi Assembly Deputy Speaker Rakhi Birla interacted with the elderly. During this, the elderly said that Arvind Kejriwal has done good to us by restarting our stopped pension. CM Kejriwal has done a lot of work for the people of Delhi. We have no words to thank him. We are praying to God that he comes out of jail soon.
Dilip Pandey told the elderly that Arvind Kejriwal will come out soon and will start a new pension for the elderly. Arvind Kejriwal has fulfilled the duty of a son like Shravan Kumar and got all the elderly of Delhi on a pilgrimage. At the same time, Rakhi Birla said that earlier the old age pension in Delhi was only Rs 1500, which CM Kejriwal increased to Rs 2500. Aam Aadmi Party is the only party in the country that takes care of the families of its voters more than its own family.
Interacting with the old-age pensioners that was attended by various Aam Aadmi Party MLAs today, senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and Timarpur MLA Dilip Pandey said that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has the blessings of all elders and Bajrangbali. He will come out soon and we will all welcome him together. As soon as Arvind Kejriwal comes out, we will also start new pensions. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has taken care of the elderly of Delhi like Shravan Kumar. He performed the duty of a son and arranged pilgrimage for all the elders. It was always a pleasure to see you singing bhajans while you were on a pilgrimage.
Addressing the gathering, Delhi Assembly Deputy Speaker and Mangolpuri MLA Rakhi Birla said I, along with all fellow MLAs, welcome and congratulate all the elders from various assemblies of Delhi who are the foundation of our society. The AAP family and I congratulate them and thank you enough because today the Aam Aadmi Party exists only and only because of the blessings of the elders, because of your support and because of your love.
She said today, the existence, dominance and popularity of Aam Aadmi Party is only because of our elders. Why did I say that, are only the elderly voters? Do only the elderly vote? No, but today, the head of the government in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal ji and the entire Delhi government and the MLAs working under his leadership, have received education from our elders somewhere when the Aam Aadmi Party made its debut in the political corridors in 2013. “When big dictators, full of pride, challenged it that if you have the courage, then you should complete your journey from the road to the assembly and when we roamed every street, every locality as a common worker and when we talked about electricity, water, education, health, then you elders were the ones who fully agreed that since independence till today, no political party has included basic facilities like electricity and water in its election agenda,” said the senior AAP leader.
Rakhi Birla said so, the leaders of any political party never included important things like education and health in their election manifesto. Today we are seeing how inflation is crossing its peak. In the current situation, we see how unemployment has broken all its records. Unemployment and inflation have brought the youth and the elderly of our family to such a point that they look towards their government with the hope that perhaps the elderly will get some financial support.
On the demand of some elders to increase their monthly pension in view of high inflation, Rakhi Birla said Arvind Kejriwal has already increased your pension and he will keep his promise to increase it further to ensure what our elders get what they have been waiting for long. “You will see in the coming few days that the Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal will come out of prison after getting the blessings of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar’s Constitution and slapping dictatorship hard. In a few days after his release, he will make sure that the new pension is released to the elderly,” she said.
The Deputy Speaker said when I say that today every son and daughter is unemployed in every house and parents have spent their entire life, all their capital in educating their children, building beautiful houses, getting them married. But in their twilight years, all mothers have this dream, this hope that they should at least visit the four Dhams, they should at least go on one pilgrimage. “In such a situation, your son (Arvind Kejriwal) is the only one in the country and in the world who has organized the pilgrimage scheme for the elderly and in the last 8 years in Delhi, he has arranged free travel for more than 1.5 lakh parents of ordinary poor families to all the famous pilgrimages from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from North to South. (In return) He has got your priceless blessings which cannot be bought even with thousands of crores of rupees.”
Rakhi Birla said you must have seen governments come and go in your life, you must have seen people becoming leaders and losing. Have you ever seen such dictatorship that elected chief ministers and ministers are put in jail, MLAs are handcuffed in public, and the work of elected governments are stalled? Why is this happening? “Because after independence, for the first time in the country’s capital and in the entire country, such a political party has come which takes special care not of its own families but of its voters’ families. And in that family, whether it is an unborn child who is still growing in the mother’s womb, from the time he is born till he is old, there is only one government _ AAP government under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal _ that takes care of every need, every problem.
The Deputy Speaker assured the pensioners just like your pension has been credited into your accounts after so many months, the Kejriwal government will make a continuous effort to bring all the pending schemes to you very soon under the leadership of the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and with the struggle of Manish Sisodia.
Even my sons cannot arrange pilgrimage as good as CM Kejriwal’s: Amarjit Singh
Amarjit Singh, 72, from Madipur said that I have seen many Prime Ministers and Chief Ministers, but no one has done work like Arvind Kejriwal did. Arvind Kejriwal started free pilgrimages for the elderly. I too had gone on a pilgrimage to Darbar Sahib. We were accommodated in a good hotel and got good food for the three-day trip. All this was free. “Even our own children could not have arranged such a good trip for us as Arvind Kejriwal did for us,” he said.
Pension which was stopped for five months was arranged by Kejriwal: Suresh
Lakshmi Nagar resident Suresh said that our pension was stopped for the last 5 months. Th Chief Minister has somehow got us our pension. That is why we are very thankful to him. As inflation is increasing, our pension should also increase now. More beneficiaries should be added to the pension scheme. Like us, many people are waiting for their pension to start.
We will welcome Kejriwal with drums and trumpets when he comes out of jail: Chanan Ram
An elderly man from Krishna Nagar, Chanan Ram, said that CM Arvind Kejriwal has got our pension which was pending for five months released. When Arvind Kejriwal gets bail, we will go to receive him with great pomp and show and he will be welcomed with drums and trumpets.

An elderly man from Krishna Nagar, Prem Pandit, said that our pension was stopped for the last 6 months, but Arvind Kejriwal got it started while sitting in jail. Many people have reached the age of 70-72 years, but they are not covered for pension. I pray to God that Arvind Kejriwal comes out soon and the pension of all those who are yet to get it also become beneficiaries.

An elderly woman said that my husband and I survive on the pension. Due to non-receipt of pension, we were facing difficulty in getting our medicines. But now all our pending pension has come. Arvind Kejriwal is Shravan Kumar for us, he has done a lot for us. We bless him with all our heart that he always stays happy. We are very saddened due to incarceration of Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, because they made the future of the children of Delhi.
