The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched a blistering attack on the BJP for once again misusing investigative agencies to shield its governance failures. With Delhi reeling under power cuts, soaring electricity bills, water shortage and waterlogging, the BJP’s so-called ‘four-engine government’ has come undone. Unable to govern, it has resorted to its old playbook — fake cases, staged investigations, and political vendetta.
After 200 failed attempts in 10 years to frame AAP leaders, not a single rupee of corruption has been found — and it never will. Now, in collusion with the education mafia, the BJP is out to dismantle Delhi’s model of public schooling.
Addressing a press conference, Delhi Assembly Leader of Opposition (LoP) Atishi said that senior AAP leader and former Deputy CM of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, has been summoned by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) in connection with a fabricated classroom case. “This false and baseless allegation is just another episode in the BJP’s long-running series of fake cases. For the last ten years, the BJP-led central government has misused agencies like ED, CBI, Income Tax, and Delhi Police to slap fabricated cases on AAP leaders,” she said.
Highlighting BJP’s pattern of vendetta, Atishi asserted, “In the past ten years, over 200 cases have been filed by BJP-controlled agencies against AAP leaders. But despite extensive investigations, raids and examination of files by ED, CBI, Delhi Police and ACB, not a single rupee of corruption has been recovered from any AAP leader.”
“There is not one AAP leader whose residence hasn’t been raided by the CBI or ED. Their bank lockers, accounts, ancestral homes and offices have been thoroughly searched. Yet, none of these agencies has found even one rupee of corruption. Till date, BJP’s agencies have failed to produce even a single coin’s worth of evidence in court for any of these fake cases,” she added.
Recalling a recent Supreme Court remark, the former Delhi CM said, “When the Supreme Court granted bail to Arvind Kejriwal, it rebuked the central government’s agencies and referred to them as ‘caged parrots’. The Court clearly stated that these agencies must function independently and not act on political bias.”
“Yet here we are again, with the same old tactics. The real reason behind this so-called classroom scam investigation is that BJP’s four-engine government has completely failed on every front in just 100 days. Whether it’s electricity, water, school fees, rising crime, or waterlogging — BJP has failed in every sector. They simply do not know how to govern,” she reasoned.
Addressing the worsening power situation, Atishi said, “For the past ten years, Delhi had uninterrupted 24-hour electricity. But ever since BJP formed the government, long and frequent power cuts have returned. There is no area in Delhi — be it Chhatarpur, Malviya Nagar, Govindpuri, North Nagar, Paschim Vihar or Burari — that is not facing long outages. It has become normal now for people to expect blackouts during rain, storms or extreme heat. This is the capital city of India in 2025, and we still can’t ensure power supply during rains. On top of that, electricity prices have gone up. In NDMC areas, the PPAC surcharge has risen by more than 50%, and inflated bills have already started reaching people’s homes.”
Pointing to the water crisis, the Delhi Assembly LoP added, “There is chaos across Delhi due to severe water shortage. While roads are waterlogged due to rains, people are not getting a drop of water at home. DJB officials have locked their offices, while women protest outside by breaking ‘matka(s)’ in anger.
“In South Delhi, there has been no water supply for the last three days. BJP’s government has completely failed to provide water. In the few areas where water is available, it is filthy and unfit for use. The NGT has also tested water from Delhi Jal Board and warned that the bacterial contamination is so severe, it could trigger a public health crisis. The water can cause gastrointestinal and liver diseases,” she further added.
Criticising BJP’s handling of waterlogging, Atishi said, “Delhi’s Chief Minister Rekha Gupta shamelessly claimed that waterlogging for up to 1.5 hours is normal, adding that the roads aren’t hot pans where water would instantly evaporate. Such statements show just how clueless BJP’s government is. The people of Delhi now regret voting for BJP. To distract from its governance failures, BJP is once again resorting to its usual strategy of filing fake cases.”
Challenging the BJP’s narrative, Atishi asked, “Where is the proof of any scam? Merely running headlines about a ₹2,000 crore scam won’t suffice. Where is this money? Has even a single rupee been recovered from any AAP leader? The truth is BJP wants to destroy government schools. Between 1945 and 2015, Delhi had just 24,000 classrooms. In just 10 years, the Aam Aadmi Party built 22,700 new classrooms of international standard. These are not tin sheds — these are digital, smart classrooms with top-quality desks and chairs, computers, Physics and Chemistry labs, 3D printers, world-class libraries and sports facilities.”
Atishi asserted, “The BJP does not want such schools for the children of the poor. The Aam Aadmi Party has been, is, and will remain committed to education. It is clear that the BJP has a nexus with the education mafia. On one hand, BJP wants to shut down government schools, and on the other, it is allowing private schools to hike their fees. If government schools are closed, people will have no choice but to send their children to expensive private schools. BJP wants to destroy public education in collaboration with private school lobbies.”
