As Delhi’s election campaign enters its last stretch, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal addressed massive Jansabhas across East Delhi, covering Laxmi Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, and Shahdara. With the iconic Aam Aadmi Topi on his head and the party’s Jhaadu symbol displayed prominently, Arvind Kejriwal was welcomed with roaring enthusiasm by thousands of supporters, reaffirming AAP’s deep grassroots connect in the capital.
The day’s rallies were charged with electrifying energy as Arvind Kejriwal took on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over its misuse of police forces and attempts to suppress AAP workers. He urged voters to remain steadfast in their support, emphasizing that a strong turnout on polling day would ensure another landslide victory for AAP.
In a powerful appeal to voters, Arvind Kejriwal highlighted the tangible impact of AAP’s governance—affordable electricity, quality education, superior healthcare, and financial relief for families through welfare initiatives. He used real-life calculations from residents to showcase how AAP’s schemes have helped households save over ₹25,000 per month, warning that a BJP-led government would roll back these benefits. His speech also carried a symbolic message—linking AAP’s Jhaadu to prosperity, invoking Mata Lakshmi, and calling upon Delhiites to protect the welfare-driven governance model that has transformed the capital.
AAP candidates BB Tyagi, Naveen Chaudhary (Deepu) and Jitender Singh Shunty were present in their respective constituencies Laxmi Nagar, Gandhi Nagar and Shahdara on the occasion.

Arvind Kejriwal observes minute of silence to mourn deaths at Mahakumbh Stampede
Before beginning his address, Arvind Kejriwal observed a minute of silence to mourn the unfortunate deaths of the victims of Mahakumbh Stampede. Chanting, “Om Shanti Shanti”, he prayed to the Lord to grant sadgati to the departed souls.
It seems like the BJP is not contesting the elections; instead, the Delhi Police is contesting the elections on their behalf: Arvind Kejriwal
Addressing the locals, Arvind Kejriwal said, “Today, the Bharatiya Janata Party is completely rattled. They have spread hooliganism all over Delhi. In every assembly constituency, they are using the police to target Aam Aadmi Party workers at a large scale. Hooliganism is rampant—our workers are being detained and made to sit in police stations. It seems like the BJP is not contesting the elections; instead, the Delhi Police is contesting the elections on their behalf.”
If BJP has any courage, let them face us directly, look us in the eye, and fight the elections fairly: Arvind Kejriwal
Commenting on the BJP’s antics he remarked, “We can also resort to hooliganism, but our parents never taught us to do so. These people think that this is the only way. This clearly shows that the BJP is losing, and they are losing badly. If the BJP has any courage, let them face us directly, look us in the eye, and fight the elections fairly. Talk about your achievements. Tell the people what you have done in the past ten years. Tell them what you plan to do in the next five years.”
This is not Amit Shah’s Gujarat but Arvind Kejriwal’s Delhi; show him our strength: Arvind Kejriwal
He continued, “Why resort to hooliganism? This is not your Gujarat, Amit Shah. This is Delhi—Delhi belongs to the people of Delhi. If you want to contest elections, win people’s hearts, don’t use force against the people of Delhi. On the 5th, the people of Delhi will rise, and when they press the button, the shock will be felt far and wide—even reaching Amit Shah!”
One last push needed, and we will secure 60+ seats once again: Arvind Kejriwal
He said, “I want to tell the people—if you all push back strongly, if each and every vote is cast, if every household steps out to vote for the ‘Jhaadu’ (AAP’s symbol), then we can once again win more than 60 out of 70 seats. But it will require a strong push. In your own streets, take responsibility—ensure that every single vote for ‘Jhaadu’ is cast. These people have unlimited money, but we don’t have money—we only have the love of the people. Everywhere I go, I see a flood of people because we have done great work, and the people want good work. These people only hurl abuses 24/7, but the people want development.”
Arvind Kejriwal calculates locals’ household savings using Bachat Patra
Arvind Kejriwal proceeded to invite a local from the audience to calculate the savings of their household. In Laxmi Nagar, he calculated her family’s savings as per the “AAP Ka Bachat Patra” — which indicated savings of Rs 27,500 per month for their household. Over that her family’s additional savings through Mahila Samman & Sanjeevani were calculated to be Rs 12,000. Resulting in a lump sum saving of Rs 40,000 per month.
Similarly, the figure came out to be Rs 25,000 in current savings and Rs. 4,200 in new savings for a local in Gandhi Nagar. In Shahdara the numbers came to be Rs 20,000 in current savings and Rs 6,000 in new savings for a resident.
After this, he said that people should consider what will happen to their household should the BJP come to power. He issued the same appeal to BJP voters, calling on them to implore whether they will be able to run their finances.
Jhaadu brings along Mata Lakshmi, AAP will bring prosperity: Arvind Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal further urged, “Our symbol, Jhaadu (the broom), is very sacred. The broom is associated with Mata Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity. Similarly, if you press the Jhaadu Button on the EVM, you get prosperity, you get free electricity, water, healthcare, education, and free bus travel for women.”
BJP governs 20 states, but not even one of them has 24-hour electricity: Arvind Kejriwal
Criticizing the BJP’s performance in other states, Arvind Kejriwal added, “The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) governs 20 states, but not even one of them has 24-hour electricity. You can call your relatives and friends in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Chhatisgarh or even Gujarat—where they’ve had a government for 30 years—and still, they haven’t been able to provide 24-hour electricity. Only in Delhi you get 24×7 power.”
If you press the wrong button, as soon as you reach home, you’ll find the electricity gone: Arvind Kejriwal
Warning the public about the potential consequences of voting for the BJP, he said, “If you press the wrong button, Delhi will again face power cuts of 6–8 hours. If you press the lotus button (BJP’s symbol), as soon as you reach home, you’ll find the electricity gone. But if you press the right button, the electricity will continue 24 hours a day. Otherwise you will have to buy inverters and generators.”
If you press the wrong button, you’ll get ₹5,000 electricity bills, and Delhi will no longer be livable for you: Arvind Kejriwal
Explaining the affordability of electricity in Delhi, he stated, “Today, in Delhi, you get 24-hour electricity, and 200 units are free. Even if you consume 400 units in Delhi, the bill comes to ₹800. In BJP-ruled states, if you use 400 units, the bill is ₹4,000-5,000. Even the poorest person living in a one-room house is paying ₹5,000 in electricity bills. If you press the wrong button, you’ll get ₹5,000 electricity bills, and Delhi will no longer be livable for you. BJP has already said they will stop free electricity. But if you press the broom button (AAP’s symbol), you’ll get free electricity and 24-hour supply.”
AAP revolutionised schools in Delhi, one wrong step can hamper your child’s future: Arvind Kejriwal
Highlighting the transformation of government schools in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal said, “Government schools in Delhi, which were in terrible condition earlier, have now become excellent. Look after your children, make them study. We’ll ensure they enter college and later get employment too.”
Taking a dig at BJP-ruled states, he remarked, “In all the 20 states where BJP is in power, pick any state and call to ask—the condition of government schools is so bad, they are running on taat-pattis and tin sheds. With great difficulty, we have improved Delhi’s government schools together. If you press the wrong button on the 5th, all the schools will be ruined.”
BJP wants to shut Mohalla Clinics in Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal
Talking about healthcare initiatives in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal said, “We’ve set up Mohalla Clinics across Delhi, where people receive free medical treatment, free tests, and free medicines. People used to spend a significant amount on medicines and illnesses every month, but now they are saving that money.” Criticizing BJP’s manifesto, he added, “BJP leaders are so shameless. They released a manifesto in which they stated that if their government comes to power, they will shut down Mohalla Clinics. Tell me, why? Mohalla Clinics treat the common man. Openly and shamelessly, they are saying they will shut down Mohalla Clinics. So, if you press the wrong button, all Mohalla Clinics will be shut down.”
Free buses helping women break barriers, but BJP wants to shut them too: Arvind Kejriwal
Reflecting on the initiatives for women, Arvind Kejriwal explained, “We’ve made bus travel free for women in Delhi. This has made life much easier for women. Women can now travel long distances for work, and our daughters can attend college without any difficulty.” Sharing a real-life example, he said, “I know several girls whose education had stopped earlier due to financial issues, but now they can pursue their dreams. If you press the wrong button, BJP will stop free buses.”
First initiative after winning will be implementation of Mahila Samman Yojana: Arvind Kejriwal
Introducing his guarantees, he announced, “After winning the elections, our biggest initiative will be the Mahila Samman Yojana. We will deposit ₹2,100 in women’s accounts every month.” Countering BJP’s criticism of this initiative, he remarked, “BJP says I’m instilling bad habits into women by doing so. But in reality, they are gaining financial independence.”
Sanjeevani for elders; free bus travel & 50% on metro for students; free electricity-water benefit for tenants: Arvind Kejriwal
He added, “As for our elders, I will ensure free treatment for all of you, whether in government or private hospitals. We will introduce the Sanjeevani Yojana to provide healthcare for our elders. Whether you’re school or college students, just like women enjoy free bus travel, students will also have free bus travel. Additionally, we will provide a 50% concession on metro fares for students. We will also introduce a scheme for tenants. Until now, tenants have not benefited from the free electricity and water provisions we provide. We will implement a scheme so that tenants also start receiving these benefits.”
We will replace all old sewer lines on a war footing: Arvind Kejriwal
He further noted that there were sewer issues in many areas. “I’ve learned that several sewer lines in Delhi have become outdated. These people got sewer lines choked, threw boulders in gutters to block them. Within one month we will clean this up. And in one year, we will replace all old sewer lines on a war footing so that people don’t face these problems anymore. We will also open the ration card quota for you to get your cards made.”
My top priority will be to arrange employment for our youth: Arvind Kejriwal
Talking about unemployment, Arvind Kejriwal said with emotion, “It pains me to see our youth struggle for employment. It feels like my own children are struggling. Despite being educated, they aren’t getting jobs or opportunities. If they don’t get jobs in time, they risk falling into bad company. Once they enter the world of crime, it becomes difficult to bring them back. In the next five years, my top priority will be to eliminate unemployment from Delhi. I’ve already instructed my team to focus on this. I have an excellent team—highly educated and honest individuals like Atishi, Manish Sisodia, Raghav Chadha, Sanjay Singh, Gopal Rai, Satyendar Jain, Saurabh Bharadwaj, and many more. They will all work around ways to develop more jobs in Delhi.”
I am a Baniya’s son—I’ll manage the funds and complete all the work: Arvind Kejriwal
Responding to skepticism about funding, he assured, “Many people ask me, “Kejriwal Ji, where will the money come from? How will you manage such funding?” I tell them, “I am a Baniya’s son. Don’t worry about the funds. All that matters is enjoying the fruit, not counting the seeds. Trust me, I’ll manage the funds and complete all the work just as I ensured free electricity, water, education, healthcare. In fact to the BJP, I say, I will ensure your sisters and daughters too get the allowance from the government.”
BJP will end free electricity, free water, government schools, Mohalla Clinics, and free bus travel for women: Arvind Kejriwal
Criticizing BJP’s approach, he warned, “The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has already announced that if they come to power, they will end free electricity, free water, government schools, Mohalla Clinics, and free bus travel for women.”
AAP will help families save ₹25,000 each month: Arvind Kejriwal
Emphasizing the financial impact of free public services, Arvind Kejriwal stated, “Press the right button. We’ve improved schools so much that the education of one child saves a family about ₹5,000 a month. For two children, that’s ₹10,000 saved. Add ₹5,000 saved from electricity bills, ₹5,000 from free healthcare, ₹2,500 from free buses, and ₹2,000 from water bills. You will save ₹25,000 each month. If BJP comes in, you will lose ₹25,000 each month. Half of us don’t earn this much in a month.”
BJP gives your tax money to its billionaire friends: Arvind Kejriwal
Challenging BJP’s stance on public welfare, Arvind Kejriwal questioned, “Why do these BJP people want to stop free electricity? Why do they want to stop free water? Why do they want to shut down all the schools? Have you ever thought about why they want to stop all these facilities?” Answering his own question, he explained, “Every person pays taxes, whether you know it or not. Even a beggar pays GST when they buy a box of matches. When you buy milk, paneer, groceries, spices, or anything, GST is included. Even if you earn ₹3,000 per month, ₹500-700 of it goes to taxes. Governments collect huge amounts of money through taxes. BJP wants to take away all your benefits. The AAP government spends this public money on you—on free buses, schools, hospitals, and metro lines.”
He asserted that BJP’s priorities lie elsewhere: “What does the BJP do with your tax money? They give it to their 400–500 billionaire friends as loans and then forgive those loans in 4–5 years.”
BJP forgave loans worth ₹46,000 crore for their friend; when I make bus travel free for women, I spend only ₹400 crore: Arvind Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal contrasted this with his government’s expenditures, saying, “Just three days ago, there was news that one of their billionaire friends took a loan of ₹47,000 crore, and ₹46,000 crore of that was forgiven. For another friend they waived ₹5,000 crore out of ₹6,500 crore. When I make bus travel free for 1 crore women in Delhi, I spend only ₹400 crore. For that, they hurl so much abuse at me.”
This election is about deciding whether government money should be spent on public services or on a few wealthy people: Arvind Kejriwal
He added, “The Aam Aadmi Party is your party—the party of the middle class and the poor. The BJP, on the other hand, is the party of the billionaires and the rich. As per RBI in total they’ve waived off loans worth 10 lakh crores for 400 billionaires. But in the name of savings, they stopped the senior citizen subsidy in railways. They will take away Delhi’s money too and give it to their friends.” Arvind Kejriwal added that this election is about deciding whether government money should be spent on public services or on a few wealthy people.
BJP has planned to demolish all the Jhuggis in Delhi within a year if they come to power: Arvind Kejriwal
Speaking directly to slum dwellers, he warned, “Do not mistakenly vote for BJP. They have already planned to demolish all the Jhuggis in Delhi within a year if they come to power. The land on which your slums are built is worth billions of rupees. They want to hand it over to builders and their billionaire friends like they did in Dharavi, Mumbai. If you press the lotus button, they will throw you out on the streets. As long as I am here, I will fight for you. Until you get a permanent house, I will protect your Jhuggi.”
BJP poisoned Delhi’s waters through Yamuna: Arvind Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal further talked about how for the past three to four days, BJP has been engaging in dirty politics in Delhi. “The water supply to Delhi comes from the Ganga via Uttar Pradesh and from the Yamuna via Haryana. The drinking water in Delhi primarily comes from the Yamuna in Haryana and the Ganga. A few days ago, they deliberately increased the level of ammonia—a toxic substance—in the Yamuna water and sent it to Delhi. Normally, ammonia levels up to 1 PPM are considered safe. But they sent water with ammonia levels as high as 7 PPM.”
He continued, “When I raised my voice against this, they threatened to file a case against me and put me in jail. On January 26, when 7 PPM ammonia water arrived in Delhi, Atishi, the Chief Minister of Delhi, became very concerned and called me. We held a press conference and exposed the entire matter. Today, I have come to give you good news. If I had bowed down to them, if I had been afraid of their threats of jail, god knows what would have happened? But I told them—go ahead, send me to jail. I have just come out of jail, I am no longer afraid.”
We won, normal water supply has been restored in Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal said that because of him raising his voice, today, normal water supply in Delhi has been restored. “The Haryana government got scared and sent clean water to Delhi. People say Kejriwal fights too much—but I don’t fight for myself. If I hadn’t fought, if I hadn’t raised my voice, half of Delhi would have been left without water. We couldn’t have supplied water with 7 PPM ammonia—it would have had to be dumped into the Yamuna, leading to a severe water shortage affecting one crore people.”
Their plan was to create a water crisis in Delhi just before the elections: Arvind Kejriwal
He added, “And what was their motive? Their plan was to create a water crisis in Delhi just before the elections so that people would blame Kejriwal for the shortage. They wanted people to say, “Kejriwal is failing to provide water.” But why play such dirty politics? At least let people have drinking water! So, I want to give you all good news—water quality has now improved, and clean water is flowing into the Yamuna. You will get full water supply, don’t worry. I have written to the Election Commission about this. The Election Commission even threatened me, asking why I shouldn’t be sent to jail. I told them—go ahead, send me, I don’t care. But no matter what happens, I will never let the people of Delhi drink poisonous water!”
New survey says 70% women will vote for AAP this time: Arvind Kejriwal
Talking to the women present, he said, “Now, I am giving responsibility to the women of Delhi. A survey shows that 70% of women in Delhi are voting for the Aam Aadmi Party. Almost all women are voting for AAP. Why? Because it is women who run the household. They know how difficult it is to manage expenses. It is Kejriwal who will work for them. We have built schools for children, fixed electricity, and made life easier. Women manage homes and raise children, so they support AAP. But men tend to wander—some towards Congress, some towards BJP, some here and there. I am assigning a duty to all women: sit your men down and explain to them. Tell them Kejriwal is the one who will work for them. Warn them strictly—if they press the wrong button, there will be consequences. If women say it, no man will dare to stray.”
AAP is forming the government, you must elect an AAP MLA: Arvind Kejriwal
Reflecting on the previous election results, Arvind Kejriwal shared, “Five years ago, out of 70 seats, the people of Delhi gave us 62 seats. Eight seats remained. In these eight seats, BJP’s MLAs won. These eight MLAs from Karawal Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, etc., fought with me a lot, abused me a lot, but did not get any work done. They did not allow any Mohalla Clinic to be built. I called all eight BJP MLAs. I said, I will build Mohalla Clinics for you. They said no. I said, I will fix your roads. They said no. I said, I will fix your sewers. They said no. I asked why. They said, you will get the credit. I said, take all the credit, but why are you keeping the public in trouble?”
He urged voters to elect MLAs from AAP this time, saying, “Everyone knows that the Aam Aadmi Party is forming the government in Delhi again. Even the BJP admits this. It’s possible that we may win a few more seats this time. But if the AAP is forming the government, you must elect an AAP MLA. Ending with a strong warning, he said, “Do not make the mistake of voting for BJP, or you will regret it for five years.”
