Former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, father of Delhi’s education revolution, met with an overwhelming show of support in Sangam Vihar area of Deoli assembly constituency as his padyatra entered its third day. A sea of enthusiastic residents welcomed him, marking a powerful moment of connection with the people of Deoli assembly constituency. People welcomed him enthusiastically by wrapping a turban around his head and presenting a sword. Children were delighted to see Manish uncle among them and presented him a rose flower and a poster of ‘Welcome meeting Manish Sisodia Sir’. During this, AAP MLA from Deoli Prakash Jarwal, senior leaders, councilors and a large number of workers were present.
Former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia said that the people of Deoli love and respect me a lot. The people here told me that when I was in jail for 17 months, they were praying for my release. Even now the people here are praying for their popular Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Health Minister Satyender Jain to come out soon. I am hopeful that I have come out. Due to the prayers of the people, the Constitution of the country and the courts, Arvind Kejriwal will also be out soon. BJP tried a lot to keep us in jail, but the truth cannot be kept inside for long.
He continued, “I am getting calls from all over the country, but wherever I go in Delhi, I meet many workers, voters and many such people who do not vote, but they also prayed for me and Arvind Kejriwal to come out, because they believe that we are honest people. Today Arvind Kejriwal is getting famous in the whole country because he builds schools. Arvind Kejriwal is the only Chief Minister in the country who has brought the electricity bills to zero in his state, while electricity is getting expensive in the rest of the world and the country. He created a system of free treatment in government hospitals.”
Manish Sisodia said that today electricity bills are zero in Delhi, there are good government schools, hospitals and women travel free in buses. Earlier, bus travel for women was free only on Raksha Bandhan. But Arvind Kejriwal said that as long as Arvind Kejriwal is the brother of Delhi’s sisters, every day is Raksha Bandhan for them. Along with providing facilities to children and women, he also provided free pilgrimage facilities to the elderly. Many trains were run one after the other for the elderly to travel to different pilgrimage places in the country. There is still a water problem in many areas of Delhi, we are working on that too.
“The BJP people have a problem that Arvind Kejriwal did so much work in his 7-8 years, which the Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states could not do even in their 20-20 years of rule. There is not a single state in the country where they have made electricity bills zero or improved government schools. That is why these people are afraid of Arvind Kejriwal. That is why they put Kejriwal in jail. To stop the work of our government, BJP first filed false cases against our MLAs. When the courts released the MLAs, they put the ministers in jail. Now when the court has released both the ministers and the MLAs, they have put Arvind Kejriwal in jail. I have full hope that in God’s house there may be delay, but there is no injustice. Our popular leader Arvind Kejriwal is also going to come out very soon. You people should also pray for him,” said the senior AAP leader.
Manish Sisodia shared, “I was in jail for 17 months. I am also a human being and it is difficult to stay in jail. My wife was ill at home, so it was difficult to stay in prison away from her. I was allowed to talk to my family for 5 minutes every day. Arvind Kejriwal is also allowed the same. There is a phone in the jail, which gets disconnected automatically after 5 minutes while talking. In these 5 minutes, my wife used to tell me what the doctor, brother or sister said, during this time the phone would get disconnected, so we could talk only after the next 24 hours.
“That time was difficult. But I kept a stone on my heart and stood firmly. This was possible because Delhi and Delhiites were in my heart and mind. It was going on in my mind that I did not come to jail because I had done something wrong, but I came to jail because I was building schools. Arvind Kejriwal was building schools in Delhi and the BJP people were afraid that if Arvind Kejriwal kept building schools like this, then the children of the poor in Delhi would get educated. Then who will come under the influence of BJP and vote for them? That is why they put us in jail,” he added.
Manish Sisodia said that they got CBI to raid my house. From 7 am to 10 pm, CBI searched everything from bed, pillow to cupboard, clothes, but they did not find even a rupee from my house. Then they searched my bank locker, in which they found the ‘jhunjhuna’ (rattle) that my child’s grandmother had given him when he was born. Apart from that silver rattle, they did not find anything in the locker. They searched all my relatives’ houses, but did not find any property worth even a penny. When ED-CBI people went to my village in Ghaziabad and searched, they found out that I only have 4-5 bighas of land from my great grandfather.
“After searching in every way, when they did not find anything, they put me in jail. Similarly, they also searched and investigated Arvind Kejriwal, but did not find anything anywhere. Later, they caught a person and put him in jail for 6 months and put a condition that he will be released only if he gives false testimony that Arvind Kejriwal had asked for money from him. Whereas there is no proof of any kind of money transaction. The ED-CBI imposed sections on all of us which are imposed on terrorists and drug dealers. Because they did not have any proof. But these sections were imposed on us because it is difficult to get bail in such sections,” he added.
Manish Sisodia said that these people also accused many of our MLAs. But all of them came out clean. They had also got a CBI raid done on me four years ago, but I came out clean. This time they have put the entire party leadership in jail. I am going among you with a guarantee that one day people will say that Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and the leaders of AAP are such people that even if you lock them in a room full of ‘kajal’, they will still come out clean.
“We have never eaten even a rupee of anyone, rather we have benefited the people. If Arvind Kejriwal had to be dishonest, he would not have made people’s electricity and water bills zero. If he was dishonest, he would not have made schools, mohalla clinics, and bus travel free for women. It is the result of the prayers of the people of Delhi that today I am among you. God knows how many people have prayed in their homes and gone to temples and prayed to defeat these dictators and bring back our Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia. You have brought me out, your love will soon bring Arvind Kejriwal out too,” he affirmed.
Manish Sisodia told the workers that there is no need to keep the morale low, rather come out with a puffed chest. After being in jail for 17 months, people are afraid of what will happen. But I have not done anything wrong, so I have come out with a proud chest. You too should stand with the same honesty. The workers have fought for 17 months. Now you take me among the people.
BJP tried to topple the Kejriwal government by luring them with posts, but we did not lose courage: Prakash Jarwal
During this, AAP MLA from Deoli Prakash Jarwal said that the dictatorial government of the Centre kept Manish Sisodia, the father of Delhi’s education revolution, in jail for 17 months without any proof in a fake liquor scam. The BJP hatched a conspiracy to break our MLAs, but none of our MLAs broke. One by one our ministers were also put in jail and when this also did not work, they put our CM Arvind Kejriwal in jail. This kind of dictatorship without proof is shameful in this democratic country. Many false cases were also filed against me and I have gone to jail three times. ED, CBI, and Income Tax raids were conducted at the houses of many of our MLAs, but all our MLAs love Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia very much. BJP tried to topple our government by luring them with posts, but our MLAs have emerged from the movement. No one lost courage.
Prakash Jarwal said that Manish Sisodia has been in jail for 17 months in a false case. When I used to read about the struggles of freedom fighters in my childhood, they were in jail for years due to the atrocities of the British. I did not see those freedom fighters with my own eyes, but today I can feel their struggle by looking at Manish Sisodia. He built great schools all over Delhi and developed the roads. In the school of Sangam Vihar, 80 children used to sit in one class and the result was 100 percent. One day Manish Sisodia came to visit the school at 6 am and seeing the crowd here, he got a new school built in Sangam Vihar. His only mistake was that the BJP government sitting in the center wanted to topple the Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi. The people of entire Delhi were praying for him and now Manish Sisodia is among us. Soon Arvind Kejriwal will also be among us.
