The Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday sounded the bugle for Haryana assembly elections with the announcement of 5 guarantees of AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal for the people of the state. In a state level town hall program held at Indradhanush Stadium in Panchkula, Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal gave Arvind Kejriwal’s five guarantees to the people of Haryana.
Along with her, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Rajya Sabha MP and National General Secretary (Organization) Dr. Sandeep Pathak Rajya, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, AAP Haryana State President Dr. Sushil Gupta, State Senior Vice President Anurag Dhanda and Aam Aadmi Party leaders and workers from every corner of the state were present.
The Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday said it will contest all 90 assembly seats in Haryana, where people want change and are looking at it with great hope.
Announcing the 5 guarantees of Arvind Kejriwal, Sunita Kejriwal said that Haryana’s son Arvind Kejriwal’s first guarantee is that domestic electricity will be free like Delhi and Punjab. There will be 24-hour electricity. The second guarantee is that like Delhi and Punjab, we will work to build Mohalla clinics in every village and every city; government hospitals will be good, everyone will get good and free treatment. The third guarantee is that we will make government schools better, where good and free education will be provided. The fourth guarantee is that we will work to give Rs 1000 every month to every woman. The fifth guarantee is that every unemployed youth will be given employment. She said Arvind Kejriwal brought change in Delhi; change is happening in Punjab. Now the responsibility is on the people of Haryana to bring change in the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Sunita Kejriwal said you all know that my husband Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, is a son of Haryana. When I married him in 1994, his family lived in Hisar. His father worked there. Arvind ji was born in Shivani village, but his education and upbringing took place in Hisar. “No one could even dream that 20 years later this son will rule the country’s capital. This is no ordinary thing; it is no less than a miracle,” she said.
Sunita Kejriwal said Arvind ji was born on 16 August 1968 and you will be surprised to know that it was Krishna Janmashtami, that is, Lord Krishna’s birthday. This is no ordinary coincidence. I think many times that God definitely wants him to do something, otherwise how a boy born in a village from an ordinary family would go to Delhi and become the CM there. Arvind ji started from zero, he formed his own party and became the Chief Minister of Delhi in the first attempt itself. Isn’t it surprising?” she said.
Talking about Kejriwal’s model of governance that changed the entire country’s politics, Sunita Kejriwal said Arvind Kejriwal did such works which many old parties, big leaders could not do. “Today, people in the entire country, the entire world knows Arvind Kejriwal for his work. He improved the government schools in both Delhi and Punjab that brightened the future of poor children; made Mohalla clinics and hospitals wonderful where now good and free treatment is available. He made electricity free, earlier there used to be long power cuts, now there is electricity for 24 hours. He made bus travel free for women, arranged for free pilgrimage for the elderly and now every woman in both Delhi and Punjab will get Rs 1000 every month,” she said.
Sunita Kejriwal said your Kejriwal, the son of Haryana, has done a lot of work. “Is there any party that has improved the government schools, built Mohalla clinics and improved hospitals, made electricity free. All such works can be done by only one person, your son Kejriwal, the son of Haryana.”
She said Modi Ji is jealous of Kejriwal as he cannot do all these things. “To stop his work, he made a fake case against him and put him in jail. Modi Ji says that Kejriwal is a thief. Modi Ji, if Kejriwal is a thief then there is no honest person in this world. Modi Ji did not put Kejriwal in jail, Modi Ji put the son of Haryana in jail,” she said.
Sunita Kejriwal said Modi Ji has challenged the people of Haryana that I have put your son in jail, do whatever you want. “I am also the daughter-in-law of Haryana. I ask you; will you tolerate this insult silently; will you sit quietly. Your Kejriwal is a lion, he is not going to bow down in front of Modi Ji. We do not have to sit quietly,” she said.
Urging the people of Haryana to give a befitting reply to the BJP in the forthcoming Assembly elections, Sunita Kejriwal said Modi Ji is from Gujarat and in 2014 when Modi Ji became the Prime Minister, the whole of Gujarat supported him, gave all the seats to BJP. “Your Kejriwal has made Haryana proud in the whole world, you will support him, for sure. There are assembly elections after 3 months, the BJP should not win even a single seat in these elections. This is not about Arvind Kejriwal, this is about the respect of Haryana,” she said.
Announcing Kejriwal’s 5 guarantees for Haryana, Sunita Kejriwal said your son Kejriwal has given 5 guarantees for all of you, most of them have already been fulfilled in Delhi and Punjab and some are going to happen soon. The first guarantee is that like Delhi and Punjab, domestic electricity will be free and there will be 24-hour electricity, there will be no power cuts.
She said the second guarantee is that like Delhi and Punjab, Mohalla clinics will be built in every village, every city, government hospitals will be good, everyone will get good and free treatment.
Sunita Kejriwal said the third guarantee is that government schools will be made better where good and free education will be available.
She said the fourth guarantee is that every woman will get Rs 1000 every month. This scheme is going to be implemented soon in Delhi and Punjab too.
Sunita Kejriwal said the fifth guarantee is that we will provide employment to every unemployed youth. Apart from this, your Kejriwal has made many plans for the development and prosperity of every section of society, including farmers, women, sportspersons, businessmen, labourers, elderly, etc. “Your son changed Delhi, your son changed Punjab, now you all have to give him the responsibility of fixing his own house (Haryana),” she concluded.
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Mann said that Arvind Kejriwal and his wife Sunita Kejriwal left their job in Income Tax to serve the people. We don’t consider politics a business, it’s not a profession but a passion for us. If the leaders of other parties were right, then what was the need for us to form a party. They challenged us to show us by doing it, we did it, so now they are saying don’t come. The people of Haryana gave every party a chance. But none turned out to be good. When we went to Jind, Kaithal, Tohana and Sonipat for rallies, people used to tell us that you are doing such good work in Delhi and Punjab, so come to Haryana too. So that our standard of living also improves. The BJP people believe in rhetoric, but Arvind Kejriwal gives guarantee.
The Punjab chief minister said I stand in front of you after giving 43,000 jobs in Punjab in just two and a half years. The Aam Aadmi Party did not take a single rupee bribe from anyone. When we were giving guarantees of free electricity in Punjab, the opposition used to say that it is not possible, where will the money come from. But we knew that the money would come from their pockets. So, as soon as we formed the government in March, we made 600 units of electricity free for two months in July. Today, 90 percent of the households have zero electricity bill. Earlier, there used to be electricity for 8 hours for farmers, today there is electricity for 12 hours a day.
Bhagwant Mann said that the Aam Aadmi Party has closed 17 toll plazas so far. Punjabis are saving Rs 60 lakh every day due to this. Seeing the enthusiasm of the public, it seems that now the Aam Aadmi Party will rule from Punjab to the border of UP. Like Delhi and Punjab, give the power of Haryana to the honest party, the Aam Aadmi Party, and thefts will stop. Arvind Kejriwal says that commit only that what you can do. That is why we do not make slogans like the BJP. The BJP cannot defeat us in honesty and truth, he said.
Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said that the BJP has been haunted by the ghost of power for the last 10 years, and the people have to exorcise that ghost with a broom. Because a broom is needed to clean the house, mohalla, village and the whole of Haryana. Apart from this, if someone’s mind is haunted by a ghost, then a broom is needed for that too. On one side there is the BJP model which has only misled the public by making false promises. It lied in the name of removing unemployment, said that it will give two crore jobs every year. It lied in the name of Agniveer, inflation, education, poor health and repairing roads. The slogan of BJP named ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ is the biggest lie. On one side there is the guarantee of BJP’s lies, on the other side there is the guarantee of Arvind Kejriwal which is the guarantee of truth and the guarantee of doing everything on the ground.
Sanjay Singh said that this fight is between truth and lie. These are not the slogans of PM Modi and (Haryana chief minister) Nayab Saini’s double-engine government. This is the guarantee of Arvind Kejriwal and Arvind Kejriwal is the person who does more work than he promises, an example of which is Delhi. When Arvind Kejriwal became the Chief Minister, he used to visit government schools with Manish Sisodia. Those government schools were full of cobwebs. Children used to study sitting on mats, there was no toilet facility for girls. Today, those same government schools have air-conditioned rooms for children to study. Swimming pools have been built in government schools, athletics and hockey grounds have been built. The wife of the President of America refused to see the schools of Gujarat, UP and Madhya Pradesh and said that she wants to see the schools built by Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia.
Sanjay Singh said that Narendra Modi has become the Prime Minister for the third time in 73 years of age and he tells the youth of Haryana to retire. Your child who does not know how to swing a bat will become the secretary of BCCI and the youth of Haryana will suffer unemployment. The Aam Aadmi Party wants to change this system. The sons of Haryana and Punjab have protected Bharat Mata by sacrificing their lives. Agniveer Yojana is a betrayal of Bharat Mata’s security. Therefore, I request that this is a big fight.
