Targeting the Lieutenant Governor for not filling the vacant posts of doctors in Delhi’s government hospitals, AAP’s chief spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar said it is being done to defame Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his government. This, despite repeated pleas by the Health Minister from April 2023 to June 2024 to fill up the vacant posts.
There are 292 non-teaching specialist and 234 general medical officer posts vacant in Delhi government hospitals and due to this the treatment of patients is getting affected, but BJP is not concerned about the health of Delhiites.
She said that BJP has put a huge responsibility on the weak shoulders of LG, which he is unable to handle. Even the followers of the less educated BJP government know that the Centre has taken away the transfer posting from the Delhi government. Our demand is that the services should be given back to us, so that we can appoint doctors.
Addressing a joint press conference with party MLA Durgesh Pathak, AAP chief spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar said the BJP has given a very big responsibility on the weak shoulders of LG. The BJP’s LG is completely incompetent, he may not even know the names of 70 assembly constituencies of Delhi. He had his own responsibility of law and order, and it is a well-known fact that he is failing in that too.
She said the BJP, by overturning the decision of a constitutional bench on the issue of transfer and posting, snatched away the right of all the transfers and postings from the Delhi government by bringing an illegal ordinance and then passing an illegal Act. “Today the situation in Delhi is that there is a shortage of 292 non-teaching specialists and 234 general medical officers, due to this Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj ji wrote continuously to LG on 19.04.23, 06.06.2023, 02.02.2024, 15.04.2024 and 25.06.2024 that there is so much shortage, the system will be compromised when there is a shortage of medical officers, when there is a shortage of anaesthetists, radiologists, practitioners but LG remained silent,” said Priyanka Kakkar.
The AAP chief spokesperson said and as Durgesh Pathak ji told yesterday quoting sources that “LG said this was not his responsibility at all”. That is why I say that there is a completely incompetent Lieutenant Governor in Delhi who has tried to stop the work of Delhi. “He (LG) has no interest in his own work, he cannot do it at all. He is from outside Delhi, he has not seen Delhi till date, he does not know how to manage it completely,” she said.
Priyanka Kakkar said you all know that the decision of the constitutional bench (of the Supreme Court) was overturned and today even the supporters of the BJP know it well, even the supporters of the less educated government know it well that services, transfers, postings come under BJP in Delhi, come under LG in Delhi. “This decision was overturned as this is illegal. Our law says that you cannot overturn the judgment of the constitutional bench in the Parliament, this is not allowed in our law. We, the Delhi government, have filed a petition in the Supreme Court on 10 July 2024, we had requested the Supreme Court that such negative politics is going on and our plea should be heard soon. The Supreme Court has also assured that it will be heard soon,” she said.
The AAP chief spokesperson said but if you (LG) are not able to provide the services that you have taken away from us, then either give it back to the Aam Aadmi Party, to the Delhi government. Because we have created such a system, you must have seen how many big eminent people had discussed our health model, be it (former UN secretary generals) Ban Ki-moon or Kofi Annan,” she said.
Priyanka Kakkar said people from all over the country come to Delhi for treatment because the BJP’s health model of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana is not hidden from anyone, so people from there used to come to Delhi for treatment. “Now, just to defame Arvind Kejriwal, to defame his government, they are deliberately not doing these transfers, postings, not appointing doctors. They are doing such low politics that they do not even care about the health of the public; they only want to do their own politics. And I am saying again that today even the supporters of BJP know that the services are with them, so make these appointments quickly, leave your dirty politics, accept your accountability and if it is not possible, then give the services back to us. We will do it like we did,” she concluded.

Even the less educated followers of the government know that BJP took away the transfer posting and services from the Delhi government in an unconstitutional manner.
The matter is now pending in the Hon’ble Supreme Court and the Supreme Court has assured that it will be heard soon.
Till then give the “Services” back to us so that we can appoint doctors. We will not let the Kejriwal government’s health model become like the BJP’s Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.”
Addressing the media, Aam Aadmi Party MLA Durgesh Pathak said yesterday, Delhi Government’s UD Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj Ji and the Aam Aadmi Party had raised a very important issue about the Asha Kiran shelter home. You understand that those people of Delhi go to this institution who have no one and who cannot even take care of themselves.
He said the responsibility of running that institution has been given by the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi to an officer who is involved in a CBI case and was suspended for 5 years. “Can such an officer stay on such a sensitive post; can such an officer carry out his responsibility on such a sensitive post. We had asked this question, Delhi’s LG said that we have nothing to do with it?” asked Durgesh Pathak.
The MLA said just a week after the Supreme Court’s decision came last year that the decision of the transfer posting of the officers in Delhi will be taken by the elected government of Delhi, the Central Government reversed the SC order by bringing an ordinance. “And the Act said that whatever action is taken against the transfer posting of officers in Delhi, the central government of the Bharatiya Janata Party will take it through its Lieutenant Governor. So, there should not be any kind of doubt. Now the LG of Delhi should answer on this because this issue is very serious matter in which 14 people have died and that too due to bad water, due to not getting food on time. But LG is not giving any answer, LG is running away, Bharatiya Janata Party is running away,” said Durgesh Pathak.
The AAP MLA questioned why the LG has not visited even once till now. “LG has neither suspended any officer, transferred him nor brought any new officer there. When asked, he keeps quiet. It is a very serious issue and today it is being seen in the whole of Delhi that LG is engaged in ruining Delhi through his officers,” he said.
Durgesh Pathak said the politics that LG is doing is spoiling his name, his future is getting ruined, so the whole system will get messed up and there will be no benefit according to me. I want to tell LG to leave politics, do something for the good of Delhi and immediately throw out the corrupt officials who are being protected by him.
