A massive show of public anger against the BJP-ruled MCD erupted in Ward 139 on Sunday as senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and MCD Prabhari Durgesh Pathak led a packed bike rally backing party candidate Rajan Arora for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) by-polls. Cutting through neighbourhoods from Naraina Village to New Patel Nagar, the rally underscored one message echoed by residents for a year: no one in the BJP-led MCD is listening. He said people now trust that only an AAP victory will restore their voice, and their dignity.
During the grand bike rally, senior AAP leader and MCD Prabhari Durgesh Pathak stated, “Wherever this rally is passing, people are extending tremendous support and cooperation. For the past one year, people have been troubled by the BJP government. At MLA offices, people are being insulted, no one answers their calls, and no one listens to them.”
Pointing to the growing public anger, he continued, “People are angry with the BJP and they want to elect an Aam Aadmi Party representative again. The public is missing Arvind Kejriwal a lot. They fully believe that if an Aam Aadmi Party representative wins, their work will be done, their issues will be heard, and they will be treated with dignity.”
Meanwhile, AAP candidate from Ward 139, Rajan Arora, said, “The condition of the entire ward and the whole assembly constituency is not hidden from anyone. After coming to power in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, the BJP has created such a situation in the past one year that the people of Delhi are unable to look past it.”
