The Aam Aadmi Party has termed the withdrawal of the transfer order of over 5,000 teachers of government schools as the defeat of BJP’s arrogance. Senior AAP leader Dilip Pandey said that finally the struggle of Kejriwal government’s Education Minister Atishi and teachers’ unions was successful and the BJP’s LG had to withdraw the transfer of teachers. He said that 5,006 teachers teaching in government schools were transferred against the instructions of Education Minister Atishi. Delhi government and the Aam Aadmi Party strongly opposed this. The truth is that the BJP got the teachers transferred through the LG to ruin the revolutionary education model of the Kejriwal government, whereas the condition of schools in the states ruled by it is utterly poor. The BJP should improve the government schools in its states instead of ruining the future of Delhi’s children.
Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and MLA Dilip Pandey said in a press conference at the party headquarters on Monday that 5,006 teachers of Delhi were overnight transferred and all the teachers teaching in government schools of Delhi saw how they were transferred despite written instructions given by Education Minister Atishi to stop the transfer. Unlike other government posts, it is necessary for a teacher to stay at one place and teach for a long time and fulfill their duties. The National Education Policy (NEP) of the country also does not support such transfer of teachers. But despite this, these transfers took place at the behest of the BJP. The Aam Aadmi Party strongly opposed this. We raised our voice for the rights and justice of the teachers of Delhi and demanded the withdrawal of this order for the future of 16-17 lakh children studying in government schools. We urged the government to stop these transfers through their intervention. Ultimately, truth won, and the political arrogance of the BJP was defeated. The transfer of more than 5,000 teachers was stopped.
Dilip Pandey stated, “The BJP was doing all this only due to political jealousy. Today, the condition of government schools in the BJP-ruled states is so poor that most of the schools do not have buildings, teachers do not come in many schools. Where teachers come, children do not come, and where children come, there is no good education. The condition of government schools in BJP-ruled states is very bad. But when the BJP saw that Manish Sisodia ji implemented a revolutionary education model in Delhi under the guidance of CM Arvind Kejriwal, the BJP did not like this beautiful truth.”
He continued, “They knew that apart from government policies and SMC (School Management Committee) parent-teacher coordination, teachers are the third strongest link of this education model. If the morale of these teachers is broken, then this education model can be destroyed. Therefore, the BJP got the teachers transferred overnight through its LG. But due to the unity of teachers and the continuous interventions of the Delhi government, these transfers were stopped. We assure all the teachers and Delhiites that under the guidance of CM Arvind Kejriwal, the work of Delhiites had never stopped in the past and will not stop in the future either.”
Dilip Pandey, taking potshots at the BJP, said that instead of throwing the future of children in the furnace of its political ego, the BJP should focus on improving the government schools of its states. For this, they can take advice from our government also, but if they improve their schools, then this jealousy will end and the future of the children there will also be secure just like the children studying in government schools of Delhi.
“In this matter, there has been negligence on the part of the bureaucracy also. Despite the written instructions of the Education Minister, transfer orders of teachers were issued. We request the Education Minister of Delhi to take cognizance of this matter and thoroughly investigate it. The officers who should be accountable to the people of Delhi, who get their salaries from the public’s tax money, the truth about their misdeeds should be exposed and strict action should be taken against them,” he concluded.
