In yet another expose by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), its Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj on Tuesday unveiled BJP government’s latest fraud — a fake artificial rainfall. The BJP government had announced that rain would be carried out in Mayur Vihar, Karol Bagh and Burari, but when not a drop fell in these areas, the BJP government suddenly claimed it had rained near the Delhi Secretariat. Reaching the spot with evidence, the AAP Delhi State President found the road, walls, plants and vehicles completely dry, as even nearby shopkeepers confirmed there hadn’t been any rain at all.
Visiting Delhi Secretariat to verify the BJP government’s claim, senior AAP leader and Delhi Unit President Saurabh Bharadwaj stated, “On Tuesday morning, they had promised Delhi residents that artificial rainfall would be conducted. The BJP minister had mentioned Mayur Vihar, Karol Bagh and Burari as the three selected locations. We spoke to several people in these areas and also contacted the elected MLAs over phone. It was confirmed that not a single drop of rain had fallen anywhere.”
Highlighting how the BJP tried to shift its claim after being exposed, the AAP Delhi State Chief revealed, “When AAP released videos showing that no rainfall had occurred anywhere, the Delhi government suddenly announced that it had rained near the Delhi Secretariat. At 6:32 pm, I showed the road outside the Secretariat — it was absolutely dry. Sometimes the road absorbs water, but even the granite surface was covered in dust. The ground was entirely dry.”
Continuing his inspection, Saurabh Bharadwaj added, “Even if the ground absorbs water, steel cannot. If even a single drop falls on steel, it leaves a mark — but there wasn’t a single drop. The leaves were dry too. I can understand what must have gone through their minds when they decided to stage this fraud just to show some rain. The question is, who came up with this idea? In fact, two smog guns are installed above the Delhi Secretariat, which spray water mist. That’s why the BJP tried to carry out this fraud under the pretext of artificial rainfall.”
Drawing parallels with earlier incidents, he further said, “Earlier too, fake Air Quality Index (AQI) figures were created. On Diwali night, AQI stations were shut down, and water was sprayed near them to manipulate readings. It was just like when a fake Yamuna was created, and filtered water was poured into it. The government had said that rainfall would happen in Burari, Karol Bagh and Mayur Vihar — but the Secretariat is not in any of these areas. It is near ITO. They faked rain near ITO because there are no residential areas, houses or farmlands nearby where people could challenge their claim. Only government officials work there, and they won’t speak out. Two smog guns are mounted above the Secretariat, and by spraying water from them for a few seconds, one can fool people into believing it rained.”
Presenting evidence from the site, Saurabh Bharadwaj stated, “If it had really rained, tiny droplets would remain on the leaves. Let the BJP Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa show even one leaf on which a drop fell. There isn’t a single trace of rain anywhere. The ground is completely dry. Not a single car shows signs of drizzle. The dust too doesn’t show the shape of water droplets. Even the rooftop hasn’t received a single drop. I went to a shop in front of the Secretariat and asked the shopkeeper, who also denied any rainfall. Another person who sells food items there every evening also confirmed that there was no rainfall.”
