In a highly charged thanksgiving rally following AAP’s sweeping victory in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), party’s National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal took direct aim at Prime Minister Modi, pointing out him of funneling public money to friends while neglecting basic services. “Yes, I give six ‘revdi’ (essential services) for free to three crore Delhiites, but you give the public’s money to one friend,” charged the AAP Supremo, highlighting AAP’s transformative work in Delhi’s schools, hospitals, and public utilities.
Flanked by Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, J&K in-charge Imran Hussain, Doda MLA Mehraj Malik and other senior leaders, the AAP chief slammed the BJP’s failure to deliver similar progress in any of 23 states ruled by BJP governments.
While thanking supporters for the historic feat, AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal stated, “you may not realise it today, but in the next ten years you will see how significant your role has been in changing the future and shape of Jammu and Kashmir.”
Arvind Kejriwal highlighted that by trusting AAP, the people of Doda have not only planted AAP’s seed but in reality laid the foundation for a new kind of politics. He said, “AAP represents an ideology, a new kind of politics. You have sown the seed of that ideology, which focuses on building schools, improving hospitals, providing education for poor children, transforming government schools, and providing free electricity.”
“Over the past 75 years, did any party promise to build schools or hospitals while asking for your vote?,” asserted the AAP Supremo saying, “only AAP says, ‘Vote for us, and we will secure your children’s future, provide education and jobs.”
Highlighting how AAP stands apart from other parties, Arvind Kejriwal said that AAP is different because it talks about building schools, hospitals, providing quality electricity, good roads, and clean water. It cares about people’s issues and improving their lives, and the nation.
While congratulating Omar Abdullah who’s set to become the new CM, the AAP Chief said, “We hope the region prospers under his leadership and offer our full support. Like Delhi, J&K now functions as a ‘half-state’ with limited powers for its elected government, while the LG holds most powers.”
While giving a witty remark, the AAP Supremo said, “If Omar Abdullah faces any challenges getting work done with the present power structure, I invite him to reach out, I have managed similar situations in Delhi.” He further said that since we are formally supporting his government, I also hope he entrusts responsibilities to Mehraj Malik, whose experience and dedication to social service can benefit not just Doda but all of Jammu and Kashmir.”
“We aim to create a J&K with proper hospitals, schools, roads, and electricity, focusing on development in Doda and the region. I’m glad Mehraj Malik won not because of religion, but because of key issues like electricity, water, education, health, and roads. In the AAP, we are not here to chase positions like MPs, MLAs, or Chief Ministers. Like you, we are here to struggle for real change,” asserted Arvind Kejriwal.
The AAP National Convenor added, “In 2000, I was a Commissioner in the Income Tax Department, but I left that job to work and live in Delhi’s jhuggis. It took me 14 years to earn the trust of the people, while Mehraj Malik took 12 years to become an MLA. If we engage in corruption, we become part of the system. However, it is a long struggle when we raise our voice against it.”
Arvind Kejriwal stated that the common man’s demand of good education for his children, job opportunities, quality healthcare, zero electricity bills, are their rights, and not privileges. Yet, people have to plead for them.
“Seventy-five years after independence, if these parties have failed to provide quality education and healthcare, where did the crores of rupees spent by these governments go? In that time, they couldn’t build schools and hospitals, while I managed to establish excellent ones in Delhi within five years. I have a plan in place, and in five years, schools and hospitals nationwide can be improved. The issue isn’t a lack of funds; it’s a lack of intention. Their intentions are corrupt, while AAP’s are clear,” added the AAP Chief.
Arvind Kejriwal asserted that in Delhi, people have stopped changing Chief Ministers. Schools and hospitals are improving, and residents are receiving free electricity and water. “I have introduced six free services for Delhiites. There are so many excellent government schools that 400,000 children have switched from private schools to enroll in them. Children receive free education, with schools featuring swimming pools and elevators,” he added.
“When the AAP government provided quality education to the children of poor laborers and rickshaw pullers, who then became doctors and engineers, PM Modi said that I was giving out freebies. PM Modi diverts funds meant for children’s education to his friends, while I provide three crore Delhiites with these services with that money. I have transformed government hospitals to match private five-star facilities and opened Mohalla Clinics in every neighborhood, providing free healthcare for all,” the he added.
“PM Modi serves one of his friends, while I serve my three crore Delhiites. Previously, Delhi faced eight-hour power cuts, but now there is 24-hour electricity, and generator shops have gone out of business. Both Delhi and Punjab enjoy free electricity, with people receiving zero electricity bills. AAP provides free bus travel for women, free water, and facilitates free pilgrimages for senior citizens. And now, every woman in Delhi will receive a thousand rupees monthly in her account,” asserted the AAP chief.
Arvind Kejriwal reasoned that this is the public’s money, and we are providing facilities to the people with it while PM Modi loots it and deposits it into one of his friend’s accounts. He said, “the PM has given the entire country to his friend, which is why he can’t stand me. The BJP governs 23 states but has failed to provide free electricity, improve schools or hospitals, or deliver quality education and healthcare. They have not offered any of the facilities I have, which is why they want to arrest me to stop my work.”
The AAP Supremo stated that Manish Sisodia, who built excellent schools in Delhi, was arrested to sabotage those schools. Similarly, Satyendar Jain, who built hospitals and Mohalla Clinics and provided free electricity, was arrested to cut off that electricity. I, too, was arrested to halt all the good work in Delhi.
“We have earned the love and blessings of the people, and with their support, we were released. PM Modi’s influence could not prevail before God, and Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh were also freed. Now that I’m out, my goal is to travel the country to encourage young leaders like Mehraj Malik, who are committed to serving the public and taking responsibility for the nation,” asserted the AAP Chief.
Arvind Kejriwal emphasized that we must tell those in power that governing is not about corruption and goondaism, but about work, service, and making a difference in people’s lives. “I see the same passion in Mehraj Malik’s struggle that I had when leaving my job as Income Tax Commissioner to work in the jhuggis. Mehraj Malik stood up against Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad in 2008. Like myself, he has no political connections,” he added.
“When I entered politics, I had no money. I served as Delhi’s CM for ten years without owning a home, which led many to joke about me. Instead of accumulating wealth, I focused on gaining the love of the people. Even today, I still have no money, just as I did back then,” shared the former Delhi CM.
Arvind Kejriwal said that Mehraj Malik had only eight thousand rupees when he filed his election nomination. Other parties wouldn’t have considered him because they typically ask candidates how much they can spend on elections, often in crores. While AAP needs more honest, hardworking individuals like him in politics.
The Former Delhi CM noted that when we first contested the Delhi elections in 2013, the people trusted a person like me and entrusted me with the responsibility of the city. Today, the people of Doda have placed their faith in Mehraj Malik.
“In 2011-12, when we protested against corruption, all the parties mocked us, saying we didn’t know how to run a government and that corruption was necessary. They underestimated our ability to campaign without money. However, we proved that we could win elections honestly and govern with integrity for the past ten years,” he added.
The AAP Supremo emphasized that the public has two powerful tools: the power of the vote, granted by Babasaheb Ambedkar, which can change or create a government, and the power of education. The biggest obstacle to education is poverty, as many cannot afford private schools and government schools often have poor conditions. However, we have worked to bridge that gap in Delhi.
Arvind Kejriwal said that every election sends a message to the leaders. The public expresses its feelings by casting votes in the election. In this Lok Sabha election, Modi ji had said that he will get more than 400 seats. But the public limited him to 240 seats. This clearly means that the people of the country are giving him a message that Modi ji, the way he is running the country, is not acceptable to the people. PM Modi must change his behavior. He better start working for the public.
“The public has given PM Modi another chance. After 240 seats, his coalition government was formed. But the public told him that if he does not change his way of working, then next time they will limit him to 140. I hope that Mehraj Malik will develop not only Doda but the entire Jammu and Kashmir and will move forward. A day will come when Mehraj Malik will leave his mark not only on Jammu and Kashmir but also on the national level,” concluded the AAP Chief.

Meanwhile, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann said that today government schools in Delhi have been transformed, no red or yellow card can end poverty, but only good education of your children can end poverty. That is why these people are worried that if the children of the poor get educated, then who will vote for them? People will start voting thoughtfully. When this happens, their condition will be the same as what the people of Doda have done today. PM Modi and Amit Shah are living in arrogance. It has been 2.5 years for our government in Punjab and we have closed 16 toll plazas, due to which Punjabis save Rs 62 lakh a day. But here there is open loot and the electricity mafia is working.
The Punjab CM mentioned that if 24×7 free electricity is available in Delhi and Punjab, then why can’t it be available here? For this, the intention of the leader should be clear. In just 10 years, AAP has spread from Delhi to five states, and this is their fear. It is a matter of great shame that people here go to Chandigarh’s PGI hospital for treatment, and many people die on the way. There is a BJP government in 23 states, but there is no free electricity in any state, nor is there a proper school or hospital. Today, wherever PM Modi goes, Adani’s work starts there. PM Modi talks of ending corruption, but today all the corrupt have joined BJP.

Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said that when Arvind Kejriwal formed the AAP, people used to laugh at us. Today, under his leadership, AAP is in the assemblies of five states from Goa to Doda. The AAP Government was formed in Delhi three times and in Punjab with a huge majority. On one side there are people doing politics of hatred and riots and on the other side there is Arvind Kejriwal who does politics of education, treatment and development. On one side there are people doing politics of dividing the society, and on the other side there is the politics of AAP and Arvind Kejriwal which takes India to progress and the people of Doda gave their strength to this politics in these valleys.
The AAP Rajya Sabha MP stated that everyone has to take Jammu and Kashmir forward together and Arvind Kejriwal’s politics of education, health, electricity and water has to be taken to every home. It was found that Amit Shah’s contract is running here and he sublets to the contractors. Amit Shah’s contract is running in the whole of India today. PM Modi works for Adani, not for India. You have to take the decision and take Arvind Kejriwal’s caravan to every village of Jammu and Kashmir along with Mehraj Malik.

AAP MLA from J&K’s Doda constituency Mehraj Malik said, “12 years ago when I left for Delhi, I had only Rs 3,000 in my pocket. I had a brief meeting with Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi. I told him that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir is very bad. There are many leaders, but they do not raise the issues of the helpless and the oppressed. I want you to do something. Then Arvind Kejriwal said, ‘son, go and work and I am still doing that work’.”
He said that the BJP has been playing with the poor for the last ten years. Narendra Modi’s mafia is in these hills. There is a mafia of sand, Chenab, electricity, schools, hospitals and roads, but I will stop these mafias. BJP people do politics in the name of religion. BJP’s words are different during elections and after winning the elections, they are different. They are chameleons, but the time has come to reform these chameleons.
The AAP MLA from Doda affirmed that PM Narendra Modi came here for the first time but had to face defeat. BJP people want to see the youth of Jammu and Kashmir involved in terrorism so that they can continue doing their politics on that terrorism. Arvind Kejriwal changed the schools and hospitals of Delhi in five years. When Arvind Kejriwal was standing for elections, he talked about humanity. Even after coming to power, he worked for the people.
