Giving many mantras to empower the women of Haryana in the Women Townhall in Bhiwani on Saturday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal said the five guarantees given by Arvind Kejriwal will play an important role in empowering every woman. After our government is formed, the guarantee of free and 24-hour electricity, Mohalla clinic, excellent government hospitals and schools, Rs 1000 per month to women and job to every youth given by Arvind Kejriwal will be fulfilled.
She said like Delhi, every family will save thousands of rupees every month by getting free electricity, good education and medical treatment in Haryana. The BJP has failed on every front from providing employment to women to their security and it is not concerned with public work. Therefore, this time give Arvind Kejriwal a chance to build a new Haryana, added the wife of AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal.
During the Women Townhall in Bhiwani, Sunita Kejriwal was accompanied by Aam Aadmi Party Haryana’s senior state vice president Anurag Dhanda, state vice president Indu Sharma, Haryana State Women Wing president Rajneesh Jain, Geeta Sheoran, Usha Rani, Saroj Jangra, Roshni Devi, Anju Tak, Jyoti Saini and Anita Devi. During the programme, women put forth their problems before Sunita Kejriwal and also gave suggestions. Women said that the problem of electricity and water and the high cost of gas cylinders affect them the most. They said women’s safety and empowerment are major concerns in the state. Apart from this, the women also talked about the issues of education, better employment opportunities, equal participation of women in sports, police and defence services. They also raised the issues of the ASHA and Anganwadi workers.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal addressed the Women Townhall in Bhiwani assembly on Saturday. Later in the afternoon, she addressed the Badlav Jansabha (Public meeting for change) in Meham assembly constituency of Rohtak district.
Addressing the Women Townhall, Sunita Kejriwal said in your state of Haryana, the BJP government has completed 10 years, I want to ask all of you, has there been any improvement in the education of your children in the last 10 years, have the government schools improved; is there any good government hospital in your area where good treatment is provided, where medicines are available free of cost; does your house get electricity 24 hours a day or is electricity free? Nothing like this has happened. There is so much shortage of electricity, gas, water in every area.
Sunita Kejriwal said I would like to tell you that all these works are being done in both Delhi and Punjab. There is a government of the Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi and Punjab. “Government schools have become excellent, the future of children is becoming good there; government hospitals have become excellent where treatment is given for free, Mohalla clinics are being built at many places. You will not have to go to hospitals for any minor ailment, there will be mohalla clinics in your area where you will get free and good treatment for your minor ailments,” she said.
Sunita Kejriwal said women will travel free in buses, there is free arrangement for pilgrimage for elderly women as well. And now there is a plan to give Rs 1000 to every woman every month. “Each family will save at least Rs 3000 to Rs 4000 every month. This is happening in Delhi and Punjab,” she said.
Reminding the women assembled at the townhall that Arvind Kejriwal is the son of the soil, Sunita Kejriwal said you all know that my husband Arvind Kejriwal, the head of Aam Aadmi Party, is the son of Haryana. Because of his work, Haryana is getting recognition in the country and the world over. Arvind ji was born in Shivani village, he grew up in Hisar, his father used to work in Hisar, a very simple family. “No one would have thought even in their dreams that this boy from Haryana will become the Chief Minister of Delhi after 20 years. It is not an ordinary thing; it is nothing less than a miracle,” she said.
Sunita Kejriwal said there is another coincidence. Arvind ji was born on 16th August 1968, that day was Krishna Janmashtami, the day of Lord Krishna’s birth. I think God definitely wants to do something special through Arvind ji. Otherwise just think, a boy born in a village, brought up in an ordinary family becomes the Chief Minister of Delhi one day. It is not an ordinary thing. “Arvind ji started from zero, formed his own party and became the Chief Minister of Delhi in the very first election, shaking the politics of the whole country,” she said.
Sunita Kejriwal said the work that many big parties could not do, your son, your brother did it. Many big leaders could not do such work which your son, your brother did. Due to all these reasons, Modi ji is jealous of your son, your brother; he is afraid. They cannot do all these things: provide good education, good treatment, free electricity and water. “Out of fear, to stall your son’s work, he (Modi) forcibly put him in jail in a false case on false statement. They say that Kejriwal is a thief. I say, Modiji, if Kejriwal is a thief then there is no honest person in this world,” said the wife of Arvind Kejriwal.
Sunita Kejriwal said the BJP only wants to stay in power, it knows how to break parties, it knows how to put opposition leaders in jail, it has no interest in working for the society. But your son, your brother Kejriwal is a lion, he is not going to bow down in front of Modi ji. “Today I, daughter-in-law of Haryana, your daughter-in-law, your sister, ask you, will Haryana tolerate this insult silently. Your son has made Haryana proud in the whole country and the world, will you all sit quietly, will you not support your son?” she said.
Urging the electorate to cast their vote in AAP’s favour, Sunita Kejriwal said now there is election on 5th October _ all sisters, mothers, brothers _ all of you must go and vote. “Not even a single vote should go to the BJP, press the broom button. You have to make your son, your brother Arvind Kejriwal win with a huge majority, you have to make the Aam Aadmi Party win with a huge majority. This is a question of Arvind Kejriwal’s honour, Haryana’s honour,” she said.
Telling the electorate to stand up for their rights, Sunita Kejriwal said you all know that you all pay tax, when you buy any goods, GST is levied on it. Our mothers and sisters go to buy flour, GST is also levied on that. The BJP has imposed tax on that too. “If you are depositing money in the government treasury, then it is your right that the government should provide you basic facilities such as electricity, water, good treatment, good education. The BJP will not do this,” she said.
Sunita Kejriwal said for this, your son (Arvind Kejriwal) has given five guarantees to all of you. “The first guarantee is that domestic electricity will be free like Delhi and Punjab, 24×7 electricity will be available,” she said.
The second guarantee is that government hospitals will be excellent in every city, every village like in Delhi and Punjab, Mohalla clinics will be built where good and free treatment will be available.
The third guarantee is that government schools will be excellent in every village, every city where education will be free, children’s future will be built, your children will get good education.
She said the fourth guarantee is that every sister, every mother will get Rs 1000 every month. This scheme is going to be implemented soon in Delhi and Punjab.
Sunita Kejriwal said the fifth guarantee is that every unemployed youth will get employment, women are also included in this. “Apart from this, your son Arvind Kejriwal has made a lot of plans for the prosperity and development of farmers, traders, sportspersons and our brothers. At present, the highest minimum wages in the country is given in Delhi. You should know that your son, your brother has made many plans for Asha workers as well,” she said.
Sunita Kejriwal said your son, your brother has changed Delhi and Punjab. “Now you all have to give him (Arvind Kejriwal) the responsibility of changing your home, Haryana. Your vote is very precious, cast it carefully. You all must go and vote and press the broom (AAP symbol) button. Together we will create a new Haryana,” she said.
AAP Haryana senior state vice president Anurag Dhanda said that Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party government is the only one in the whole of India that is working for women. No government brings such schemes as Arvind Kejriwal’s government has brought. In Delhi, women can travel for free in buses, in Haryana, buses are made free only on Rakshabandhan and they start patting their backs that they made buses free for one day. Arvind Kejriwal runs free buses for women every day in Delhi. Bus rides are free for women in Punjab too.
He said that women are unsafe in Haryana, they cannot leave their homes in the evening. In Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal has installed so many CCTV cameras that women have started feeling safe in leaving their homes. Today, the same cameras are making a huge contribution to Delhi’s security system. No one can even think of giving women Rs 1000 per month as honorarium, only Arvind Kejriwal has brought such a scheme for women. The proposal has been passed in Delhi and this scheme is going to be implemented in Punjab very soon. As soon as the Aam Aadmi Party government is formed in Haryana, women will be given an honorarium of Rs 1000 per month.
He said that apart from this, special government schools have been made for girls in Delhi where girls can study, special Mohalla clinics have also been made for women and mothers and sisters in Delhi do not have to stand in queue to get ration. Such a scheme was started in Delhi by Haryana’s son Arvind Kejriwal.
AAP Haryana state vice president Indu Sharma said that women turning in large numbers is a sign of change. She said that when the wife is in trouble, the husband takes responsibility. When the husband is in trouble, the wife fulfills the responsibility very well. The dedication and strength with which she (Sunita Kejriwal) has supported Arvind Kejriwal in hour of crisis is commendable.
She said that all the sisters of my area have always supported me and never left me alone. The participation that my sisters showed in the last election, has not been seen in any election in entire Haryana. This is my biggest strength. Today, the Aam Aadmi Party has listened to the problems of women and given them a voice.
She said that today, under the BJP government, the condition of women in the state is very pathetic. Be it security, health, employment or harassment and misbehaviour. Women are not safe anywhere, from home to outside. Today women are helpless and powerless. We have to talk about giving a safe environment to women. When it comes to casting votes, we are called half the population, but after the elections are over, no party is bothered about our issues. Whereas the Aam Aadmi Party has worked to give a platform to women and there is no discrimination in the party.
Indu Sharma said that women are on the forefront in every field today – in sports, in business, in taking care of the house. The women of Haryana formed every party’s government _ national as well as regional. “Now it is time to give a chance to the Aam Aadmi Party. It is time to give a chance to Arvind Kejriwal. We will definitely work towards providing a better environment for women and daughters in Haryana. We will work towards providing better health facilities and excellent government schools. So, give a chance to the Aam Aadmi Party,” she said.
