In a powerful address to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) karyakartas across the country, senior AAP leader and former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia reaffirmed the party’s mission—not for power, but for transformation. Engaging with supporters online, he emphasized that AAP’s impact has already forced even the nation’s “largest party” to discuss education and healthcare, marking the beginning of a political shift.
Manish Sisodia asserted that Arvind Kejriwal’s governance in Delhi—focused on schools, hospitals, electricity, and water—has set a new benchmark, and if the BJP government adopts these reforms, it would still be AAP’s victory. However, he warned that the road ahead remains long, as entrenched political forces continue to rely on corruption, communal divisions, and old-school power struggles.
Interacting with AAP’s social media teams across the country online, senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia said that even though the election results were not in their favor, everyone worked hard. Many volunteers took to the streets of Delhi. “They were not just fighting an election but a movement. They were living the dream that politics could be about honesty and work. When politics in this country is dominated by caste, religion, and ‘gundagardi’, one party dared to contest elections based on education, healthcare, electricity, and water,” he asserted.
The senior AAP leader stated, “Our fight was not limited to just one election. It was not merely about gaining power, but about ensuring that every child in this country receives a good education. Every poor person should have the right to become rich. Politics should be free from ‘gundagardi’, corruption, and the exploitation of religion and caste. Instead, it should focus on issues that are crucial for individual growth. They did not just seek votes in the election; they laid the foundation for change, and they succeeded in doing so.”
Addressing the volunteers, Manish Sisodia urged them to see this not as an election for power but as a battle of ideas. “In a battle of ideas, ideas never lose; they only become stronger. When an idea repeatedly gains strength, history is made. Today, their fight has reached a crucial turning point,” he affirmed.
Manish Sisodia recalled that when they initiated the ‘Education Revolution’ in Delhi, no one believed that government schools could improve. “People mocked the idea that government schools could compete with private schools. But while others laughed, they delivered results. Similarly, when Mohalla Clinics were introduced, many ridiculed Arvind Kejriwal, but eventually, their critics had to acknowledge their success,” he added.
“Today, Mohalla Clinics are a model being adopted worldwide and by several Indian states. When they made electricity and water free, they were mocked again, but now, even the party that calls itself the biggest in the country is following AAP’s model,” affirmed the senior AAP leader.
Manish Sisodia said, “We are not the kind of people who get disheartened by losing one election. No effort has gone to waste. They were working for the future of the country. Even though the election results were not as expected, their fight has progressed and will continue with even greater determination in the next election.”
The former Delhi Education Minister highlighted, stating, “Until now, I was working on education in Delhi, but now I will be able to devote time to improving education across the country. I will work in Punjab and other states as well. Punjab’s Chief Minister and Education Minister are doing excellent work. With renewed energy, they must continue their fight, as it is far from over. The battle for their vision continues.”
Manish Sisodia also raised concerns about the fairness and transparency of the Delhi elections. “Money, sarees, and shawls were openly distributed, yet the Election Commission claimed it saw nothing. The police were supporting them. The elections were neither free nor fair, but the results are now in front of everyone. It is their responsibility to ensure that such irregularities do not occur in the next election. Learning from this experience, they must begin preparations now to prevent these manipulations in the future,” stated the senior AAP leader.
Manish Sisodia stated that they have many ideas for improving education. During their tenure in Delhi, they accomplished significant work. “If the upcoming BJP government continues the foundation laid by Arvind Kejriwal in education, healthcare, electricity, water, and welfare, it would be a victory for the politics of work. It would mean that other parties are compelled to follow their model. That would be their biggest success. They will continue pushing other parties to focus on education and real development,” he concluded.
