The women-led protest against the BJP Government continues in Delhi over the ongoing water crisis, with women smashing ‘matkas’ in symbolic demonstrations. On Friday, AAP Women’s Wing Delhi State President Sarika Chaudhary, led a massive demonstration in the Bijwasan Assembly constituency alongside local women. The demonstration strongly targeted the BJP Government’s failure to resolve the crisis.

AAP Delhi State Women’s Wing President, Sarika Chaudhary, stated, “The Delhi Government must wake up and fix the water supply. Ever since the BJP came to power, there has been a severe water shortage across various parts of Delhi. But the BJP Government seems completely unconcerned. Delhiites are protesting every day, yet the government refuses to wake up.”
Sarika Chaudhary said, “There is a water shortage throughout Delhi. In many areas, only a trickle of water is coming, and the water is so filthy that it’s worse than sewage. Human waste is overflowing onto the streets. Despite having a four-engine government, the people are suffering. The BJP should be ashamed.”
“They should step down and give the people of Delhi a chance to remember their former CM Arvind Kejriwal. The Aam Aadmi Party has always worked for the welfare of the people, while the BJP only made grand promises and then betrayed the public,” she added.
The AAP Delhi State Women’s Wing President added, “I want to ask Delhi’s Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Prime Minister Modi—what kind of party is this that makes tall promises to get votes but disappears when it’s time to deliver services? The Aam Aadmi Party has always worked in the interest of the people, while the BJP has only lied.”
She continued, “In Hinduism, giving water is considered a virtuous act, but under the BJP Government, even this is not provided. Water has been taken away from the people. PM Modi talks about Hindu dharma, but to snatch water from the thirsty is the greatest sin. God has given him such a great opportunity, and yet he is unable to provide even a basic necessity like water. He promised ₹2,500, but that too was never fulfilled. Now we don’t want money or anything else—just give us water.”
Sarika Chaudhary said, “The people of Delhi are longing for water, and this is happening even though Haryana also has a BJP government. So why is water not being supplied? Such a situation never existed under the AAP Government. The water crisis in Delhi is so dire that stinking water is coming through the tanks. We have complained about it, but no one is listening. Children and women are falling ill.”
