Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal launched the “Revri Par Charcha” campaign, on Friday. Aiming to charge up AAP’s electoral outreach, the campaign will turn the spotlight on free electricity, water, healthcare, education, women’s bus rides, and senior citizens’ pilgrimages as Revris provided by AAP.
Declaring the launch, the AAP Supremo warned the public of the rollback of free facilities under BJP rule, while also promising an additional revri of Rs 1,000 for every woman monthly, as the 7th provision.
During this, Arvind Kejriwal also unveiled a detailed poster showcasing AAP’s six flagship revris, setting the tone for the “Revri Par Charcha” campaign that will run from November 25 to December 10, energizing the battle for Delhi.
After launching the campaign, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal stated that the Delhi Assembly elections are just around the corner, and today, we are launching a new campaign across the city, called ‘Revri Pe Charcha.’ Across Delhi, in every street, neighborhood, and society, we will organize a total of 65,000 meetings. In these meetings, AAP workers, officials, Mandal In-charges, Booth In-charges and booth teams will go among Delhiites to inform them about the work we have done in Delhi.
The AAP Chief further stated that his government has provided six major free revris to the people of Delhi. Responding to Prime Minister Modi’s repeated criticism of these services, he said, “Yes, we are proudly offering these six revris to Delhiites.” He further pointed out that the BJP openly calls for an end to these revris, leaving it up to the people of Delhi to decide if they wish to continue receiving them.
He warned, “If BJP comes to power, the six free services that we’re providing to the people of Delhi with their money (taxes) will be discontinued. Among the 20 BJP-ruled states, not a single one offers any of these benefits which we are offering in Delhi. It’s BJP’s commitment to stop all the free revris in Delhi.”
The AAP Supremo said, “The first revri is free 24×7 uninterrupted electricity supply. Under the Congress government, Delhi faced power cuts of 8–10 hours daily. In less than 10 years, we not only ensured 24×7 electricity but made it free, a feat BJP hasn’t been able to match in any of those 20 states where they rule, including Gujarat, where they’ve governed for 30 years. It’s a technical issue and we are engineers, we know how to provide electricity without power cuts while they don’t. If BJP takes over Delhi, power cuts will return.”
Arvind Kejriwal warned that before pressing the BJP’s button (Lotus), keep in mind that you’re voting for power cuts to return. Otherwise, press the ‘jhadu’ (AAP’s symbol) button. Ask your family in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, or Rajasthan how many hours of power cuts they endure daily.
“Only Delhi and Punjab, under AAP’s governance, provide free electricity. A vote for BJP in Delhi will mean the return of electricity bills in thousands every month. Only the AAP can provide free revri of 24×7 electricity to Delhiites, and we have only been governing for almost 10 years,” he highlighted.
“Second revri: Free water. We provide 20,000 litres of free water per family every month in Delhi, a benefit absent in BJP-ruled states. Arvind Kejriwal noted, ‘When I was in jail, BJP did some mischief and some Delhi residents received inflated water bills. You don’t need to pay those wrong bills. Vote for AAP, and we will waive them off when we come to power again, bringing your bills back to zero. But if you press the ‘Lotus’ symbol (BJP’selectoral symbol), you would have to pay those inflated water bills,” he added.
The AAP National Convener highlighted the third revri: Free, quality education. “AAP has transformed Delhi’s government schools into centres of excellence. BJP’s 20 states can’t show even one comparable government school,” Arvind Kejriwal said, highlighting the broken state of their educational infrastructure. In contrast, 18 lakh students in Delhi’s government schools are thriving with access to world-class facilities. Delhi government school students from financially disadvantaged families are becoming engineers and doctors and making a future for themselves. Delhi schools will be ruined if BJP is voted into power.
The former Delhi CM highlighted the fourth revri: Free healthcare. “Delhi boasts outstanding Mohalla Clinics and government hospitals, offering free treatment and medicines. Public healthcare in the 20 BJP-ruled states is in shambles. If BJP comes to Delhi, these hospitals will deteriorate, forcing you to spend thousands on private healthcare,” he warned.
The AAP head said, “Fifth revri: Free bus travel for women. Women in any of the BJP-ruled states do not enjoy free bus travel. In Delhi, this initiative empowers countless women daily, but BJP has consistently asked for its discontinuation. Similarly, the sixth revri, free pilgrimage scheme for elders would also end if BJP comes to power.”
Arvind Kejriwal reiterated, “The BJP openly says these six benefits should be stopped. It’s now up to the people of Delhi to decide whether they want these services to continue or end.”
He elaborated on the challenges of Delhi’s governance structure, stating, “In Delhi, we operate with half the powers compared to a full state, while the central government, LG, and BJP control the rest. Despite this, we’ve achieved remarkable progress in the past 10 years, working on electricity, water, schools, hospitals, roads, CCTV cameras, streetlights, and sewers, etc.”
The former Delhi CM stated that meanwhile, the BJP, which holds the other half of the government, has done absolutely nothing. Can you name even one thing BJP has accomplished for Delhi in the last decade? If they haven’t done anything with the half of Delhi’s powers they have, why should we give them the other half as well? The BJP has only obstructed the work we have done for Delhiites.
“Recently, I heard a BJP leader say, ‘Vote for us, and we’ll provide the same services as Arvind Kejriwal.’ If that’s true, why not vote for Arvind Kejriwal himself instead of settling for duplicates? The BJP is lying when they promise free electricity, water, and other benefits. If they’re serious, let them first implement these in Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh before Delhi Elections. They also once promised Rs 15 lakhs to every citizen but later dismissed it as a ‘jumla’ (catchphrase). Why should anyone trust their promises now when their track record is full of lies?” asserted Arvind Kejriwal.
The AAP Chief further stated that during the last elections, BJP promised to regularize Delhi’s unauthorized colonies. During the 2020 assembly elections Amit Shah and Hardeep Puri made tall promises about registration for residents of these colonies. Five years have passed, but not one registration has been done. They betrayed the Purvanchali community, who mainly reside in these colonies. While we have given respect and a better life to the people from Purvanchal.
He shared that earlier, when we visited these colonies, there was mud everywhere, and no government cared about the people of Purvanchal living there. In 2013, while going door-to-door, residents would often say, ‘Even people looking for matrimonial alliances avoid this area because of the terrible state of the streets.’
The AAP National Convener asserted, “When our government was formed in 2015, I called a meeting to address this issue. Officials told me, ‘We can’t build roads, install water pipelines, or lay sewer lines here due to restrictions from the central government and court orders.’ We tackled these challenges head-on and, for the first time, began real development work in Delhi’s unauthorized colonies. I’m not claiming all the work is done, but we’ve achieved a lot, and there’s more progress to be made.”
“Give us one more chance, and we’ll complete all the remaining work in these colonies. But we’ve ensured respectful life to the people from the Purvanchal community. We’ve built 10,000 kilometers of roads and streets, laid 6,800 kilometers of sewer pipelines, and installed water pipelines and drains in these areas. Earlier, land rates were Rs 2,000 per square yard. Today, they’ve skyrocketed to Rs 1 lakh per square yard. Property values have risen, and while others promised to register your properties, I’ve increased their value. I don’t just make promises, I keep them. Whatever I say, I do. I don’t lie,” affirmed Arvind Kejriwal.
He further added, “Our campaign kicks off on November 25 and runs until December 10, Phase 1. We’ll visit every street, neighborhood, and society to share our progress with the people. During these 15 days, we’ll reach every household in Delhi, and I am confident the people will support us again.”
Arvind Kejriwal announced another revri for Delhiites, stating, “We’re introducing a seventh revri: every woman will receive Rs 1,000 per month directly into their accounts.”
Meanwhile, senior AAP leader and former Delhi Deputy CM, Manish Sisodia, highlighted the significance of the upcoming elections and the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal. He emphasized the need to connect with people during election time, saying, “We must go among the people and talk seriously about what we have done and why we did it. The changes we brought into their lives are evident, and it’s our responsibility to explain these efforts to them.”
Reflecting on the time before the party’s formation in 2012, Manish Sisodia shared how he and Arvind Kejriwal traveled across Delhi and other parts of the country, visiting villages and slums. They saw how governments were disconnected from the people’s struggles, focusing on grand projects while ignoring basic needs. “People want to live with dignity, without it becoming a burden. But we saw governments indulging in corruption and neglecting the very essentials that matter to people,” he said.
He went on to highlight the transformative work done by the Arvind Kejriwal-led government in the last decade. “We focused on ensuring dignity for people in their homes, neighborhoods, and families,” he said. Electricity was made available 24×7 without becoming a financial strain, water was provided, and healthcare and education were improved so that people could live without taking loans or bearing heavy expenses.
Manish Sisodia pointed out that such initiatives were possible only because of Kejriwal’s visionary and honest leadership, stating, “No other government or party could achieve this because they lack leaders like Arvind Kejriwal.”
He further contrasted Delhi’s progress with other states, where electricity remains expensive and unreliable. “Delhi’s success in providing free 24×7 electricity is a direct result of Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership, which is missing in other states,” he concluded, urging the party’s leaders to communicate this message effectively to the people.
