For last 2 years, LG Saab has been dealing with DSIIDC land files directly bypassing Elected Govt: AAP

In the wake of a recent tragedy where two boys died due to drowning in a pit which was formed due to rainwater accumulation at the land in possession of Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation’s possession (DSIIDC) opposite Rani Khera Bus Depot, in Rohini’s Prem Nagar on Friday, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has taken potshots at the Lieutenant Governor (LG) for claiming credit for the DSIIDC land projects while avoiding responsibility, particularly for the deaths at Rani Khera.

The AAP has exposed the LG for holding direct meetings with DSIIDC , bypassing the elected government’s authority. The AAP has argued that if the LG enjoys the powers, he should also bear the responsibilities, and questioned why the Baprola project notification bypassed the elected minister and was processed directly by the LG’s office.

The AAP has stated, “For the last 2 years, LG Saab has been having directly dealing with the DSIIDC land relate matters. One can see many press releases of DSIIDC where it has been mentioned that LG had given directions to them. There are files related to land matters of DSIIDC where the LG Sahab is bypassing the ministers and elected government. The LG is who is ready to take all the powers, enjoy all the powers, and should start taking some responsibilities as well — the responsibility should be with the one who enjoys powers.”

“For the last 2 years, the LG house must disclose how many files they have processed related DSIIDC, knowing fully well that DSIIDC which comes under the Industries Department is a transferred subject under the elected government, yet DSIIDC has been sending files directly to LG office bypassing the Minister concerned,” added the AAP.

The AAP reasoned, “Therefore, the answer should be asked by the LG office first: Why did they take the powers which never existed and when they have taken power they should also show responsibility? LG Vinai Saxena must answer why files related to land matters of DSIIDC are being dealt with directly by the LG office by passing the Minister. If LG wants to enjoy power over the land of DSIIDC he must be held responsible for the death as well. Yesterday only a press release was given where LG claimed DSIIDC land work related to the Baprola project.”

“When LG is ready to claim all credit related to land works of DSIIDC, why is he running away from the responsibility? The LG is answerable for deaths at Rani Khera. After the new LG came (Vinai Saxena), the DSIIDC land is being claimed as a reserved subject and the LG has asked to bypass the elected Government, and it is being built directly by the LG office,” the AAP asked.

The party mentioned that recently ,a file related to the Baprola industrial area has been sent directly to the LG bypassing the elected minister. The same was published in all newspapers today. The LG must answer why the Baprola notification has bypassed the elected minister, and the file has been directly processed by the LG office. Yesterday’s press release by related to the Baprola project shows that the LG is enjoying power over land under DSIIDC.
