Rising from the ashes of yet another brutal terror attack in Pahalgam, India is demanding more than just condemnation—it wants decisive action. With the blood of innocents still fresh and the scars of cross-border terror deepening, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday has asked the Centre to reclaim Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). Drawing parallels with Indira Gandhi’s 1971 war leadership and Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s Kargil response in 1999, AAP Delhi State President Saurabh Bhardwaj declared that Prime Minister Narendra Modi now faces a historic moment—to crush the terror infrastructure entrenched in PoK and end the cycle of bloodshed once and for all.
AAP Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj, addressing a press conference alongside National Media In-Charge Anurag Dhanda, stated, “A few days ago, one of the biggest terrorist attacks in our history took place in Pahalgam. Terrorists singled out and killed Indian civilians, and today, the entire country is seething with rage. Our youth are boiling with anger. The whole nation stands united behind the Central Government and is looking to it for a decisive response against Pakistan.”
Extending AAP’s full support towards the Indian Armed Forces, the AAP Delhi State President affirmed, “We stand firmly with the Indian Armed Forces. History gives very few such opportunities to a Prime Minister. In 1971, former PM Indira Gandhi had such an opportunity. In 1999, then PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee had one. Today, in 2025, history is giving that same opportunity to PM Narendra Modi.”
He added, “The PM must act—go and raise the Indian tricolour in that part of Jammu and Kashmir (PoK) which has been under illegal occupation by Pakistan for years. Jammu and Kashmir originally spanned 2.22 lakh square kilometres. Of this, only about 1.06 lakh square kilometres remain with India, while over 72,000 square kilometres—our own land—is under Pakistan’s control. This region is called Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), and it is the epicentre of terrorism. Terrorist training camps, launching pads, and full infrastructure exist there. Youth are indoctrinated and trained there. The Central Government has complete intelligence on this.”
Saurabh Bharadwaj further said, “PoK is a terrorist factory, constantly producing militants who are then sent into India. Today, every Indian—Hindu, Muslim, Jain, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist—stands behind the government demanding strong action. The entire country has faith in the Indian Armed Forces. The Prime Minister simply needs to give the signal, and our brave soldiers will bring PoK back to India. The real question is—does the government have faith in the valour of our soldiers? If it does, the time has come to reclaim PoK.”
Meanwhile, AAP’s National Media In-Charge Anurag Dhanda said, “There is a national consensus today for decisive action against Pakistan. Time and again, Pakistan has tried to provoke India and has executed terrorist attacks on our soil. But successive Indian governments have always responded strongly. The most recent example is Pulwama. When terrorists struck in Pulwama, India retaliated with full force, destroying the terror camps in Pakistan. Yet, these camps were rebuilt in PoK. Launchpads were restored.”
“This shows that merely killing terrorists isn’t enough—we must destroy the breeding ground itself. We must take control of the source. Terrorists seek to divide India along religious lines, but the nation is united. PoK must be brought back into India permanently. Now is the right time—to ensure terrorism never again impedes India’s progress,” he noted.
Anurag Dhanda added, “Yesterday, we heard that the army has been given a free hand. Our military is fully prepared, and the country has full confidence in their capabilities. We have retaliated strongly in the past. What we need now is political will. If the government gives clear directives, the army can reintegrate PoK into India. Jammu and Kashmir had legally acceded to India, but PoK was seized deceitfully by Pakistan. Reclaiming PoK is not just about territory—it is about uprooting terrorism itself. When the very origin of terrorism is eliminated, terrorists will cease to exist.”
Anurag Dhanda concluded, “The decision now lies with the government. Indira Gandhi had once shown political will. Later, Atal Bihari Vajpayee demonstrated to the world that India is both capable of pursuing peace and asserting its strength. He too made that political decision. Today, the entire nation hopes that the current government will display the same resolve, take a strong and bold decision, and bring back PoK, which rightfully belongs to the people of India.”
