Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s MP Sanjay Singh on Saturday hit out at the Election Commission of India (ECI), pointing out that Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar of “rigging democracy” in favour of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral roll report. The AAP MP noted that despite the SIR exercise, only 315 foreign nationals were found in Bihar’s voter list — 78 Muslims and the rest Nepali Hindus — yet the names of 80 lakh voters were deleted.
Sanjay Singh charged that the CEC had “stamped NDA’s victory in advance” by preparing 5 lakh duplicate and 1 lakh nameless voters, declaring that the “vote-chor Election Commission” had made full preparations to ensure PM Modi’s win.
Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Saturday released a video message on X, appealing to all Opposition parties in Bihar to campaign hard and hold rallies, assuring that the AAP and its workers would do the same. However, Singh pointed out that CEC Gyanesh Kumar had already “stamped NDA’s victory and distributed the certificates” through the SIR report.
Questioning the claims made in the SIR, Sanjay Singh said the BJP had long shouted about infiltrators, Bangladeshis, and Rohingyas, claiming they must be removed — yet not a single name in the voter list was flagged by the BJP as that of an infiltrator or foreigner. “After the final voter list was released, Gyanesh Kumar went silent. Across Bihar, only 315 foreign citizens were found — most of them Hindus, and only 78 Muslims. So, was the entire SIR scare created just to target 78 Muslims and harass 8 crore voters?” he asked. “One feels like laughing at Gyanesh Kumar’s ignorance, but he is not foolish — he is cunning. All this was done at the behest of PM Modi and the BJP,” Sanjay Singh charged.
Exposing a massive voter list scam, Sanjay Singh revealed that there are 5 lakh fake votes in the list — cases where the same voter’s name, address, and details appear twice. “In Haryana, a few thousand votes changed the election result; in Delhi too, just 1–2 % vote difference flipped constituencies. In Bihar, 5 lakh fake votes have gone straight into the BJP’s kitty. The total number of voters has decreased by 80 lakh — a staggering cut — while fake names have been added. No matter how hard the Opposition works, the votes have already been stolen,” he declared.
“The aim of PM Modi and Gyanesh Kumar through the SIR was clear — to cut Opposition votes and benefit the BJP. And they’ve succeeded. If elections are held on this voter list, the Election Commission has already handed victory certificates to NDA candidates,” noted Sanjay Singh.
The AAP MP further said, “Now it’s for the Opposition to decide how to resist this. Will the Supreme Court hear these facts? Will it halt the process or order elections based on the old voter list? These are the questions hanging over the Bihar election. But democracy cannot function like this — only ‘vote chori’ will.”
