The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is continuously working to strengthen its organisational structure in Delhi. In this direction, under the leadership and guidance of AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, the party has launched ‘Masuk Karyakarta Baithak’ (monthly party workers’ meetings) across all 70 Assembly constituencies of Delhi starting today. Under this programme, a meeting of party workers will be held in every Assembly on the first Sunday of every month. Since today, June 1, is the first Sunday of the month, meetings were held in all 70 Assembly constituencies across Delhi.
In these meetings held on June 1, office bearers at the Assembly level, ward level, and mandal level, along with office bearers of all frontal organisations and wings, participated in large numbers. The meetings witnessed enthusiastic participation from party workers, who also offered a wide range of suggestions on how to further strengthen the party organisation. The energy and dedication displayed by the cadre reflected their deep commitment to the party and its mission.
These meetings also featured in-depth discussions on the hardships faced by the people of Delhi during the first 100 days of the BJP-ruled Delhi administration. karyakartas expressed strong concern over the BJP’s betrayal of every promise it made before the elections, resulting in deep disillusionment among Delhi’s citizens. Several hours of power cuts are being imposed across the city, and in the midst of this severe summer heat, people are struggling for even a single drop of water. Across many parts of the city, residents have taken to the streets, smashing earthen pots in protest against the severe water shortage and demanding accountability from the BJP-led Delhi government.
Each of these monthly AAP meetings is anchored around a common discussion topic that is addressed across all 70 Assembly constituencies. Today’s central discussion theme was the ceasefire announced during the India-Pakistan war. While India was gaining the upper hand in the conflict and the Indian Army was demonstrating its valour, Pakistan was facing repeated defeats. In such a situation, India had a golden opportunity to reclaim Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The Bharatiya Janata Party has, for the last 70 years, consistently proclaimed that PoK is part of India and will be taken back. Yet, when this golden opportunity actually presented itself, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the deeply disappointing decision to announce a ceasefire—reportedly under pressure from U.S. President Donald Trump.
There was unanimity among karyakartas across almost all constituencies that India had a historic chance to reclaim PoK. However, the BJP-led central government squandered this opportunity due to foreign pressure. This decision evoked both disappointment and anger among the karyakartas, who condemned the Modi government’s failure to act in the national interest.
Through these monthly meetings, the Aam Aadmi Party remains steadfast in its mission to build a strong, disciplined, and issue-driven organisation across Delhi, while amplifying the voice of the people and holding the BJP accountable for its repeated betrayals.
