The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has vehemently opposed the inclusion of coaching institute owners in a committee formed by Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena. Senior AAP leader Reena Gupta criticized the decision, condemning the BJP’s LG for involving those responsible for the tragic deaths of three children in Rajinder Nagar. She highlighted the dangerous nexus between these institutes and the authorities, pointing out the need for regulation rather than inclusion in decision-making, especially given the long-standing issues of illegal coaching centers operating in unsafe conditions under the BJP’s MCD tenure.
Senior AAP leader Reena Gupta said that three of our children died in an accident at a coaching institute in Rajinder Nagar recently. Since the incident, I have not been able to sleep properly thinking about the parents of those children and what they must be going through. Today, I have received information that the LG of Delhi is forming a committee and has given place to the owners of coaching institutes in that committee. This is the same committee of coaching institute owners, who knew that children cannot be made to sit in the basement. They knew that they had received NOC to make storage in the basement. But the coaching institute did not care about anyone’s life due to its greed and the result was that our three children died tragically.
Reena Gupta asked why the LG is including the owners of coaching institutes in the committee he is forming. These are the same coaching institute owners who charge exorbitant fees from our children. No matter how hard the children try, wherever they go, they cannot escape the clutches of these coaching institute owners. They have a nexus. Wherever our children go, they have to pay a hefty amount as fees. These coaching institutes have been running for the last several years.
“For the last 15 years, there was a BJP government in MCD. It was during the BJP’s tenure that illegal coaching institutes were set up in basements. Today, when it is time to regulate them, to bring them under the ambit of law, LG sahab is including those coaching owners in the committee. Due to the collusion of coaching institutes running for many years and BJP, today Delhiites are witnessing that coaching institutes are set up in basements at various places in Delhi,” She added.
Reena Gupta questioned the BJP and LG that even after 15 years of rampant corruption in MCD, are you still not satisfied? The parents of the three children who died in Rajendra Nagar coaching centre are in a bad condition. Even after seeing their misery, BJP’s LG gave place to the owners of the coaching institute in the committee. The LG should be ashamed, he should fear God. Delhi’s law and order is in the hands of LG. Police are in the hands of LG and everyone knows that police collect weekly bribes from the owners of these coaching institutes. Now is the time to regulate these coaching institutes and get justice for our children and their parents. Not to make the owners of the same coaching institutes sit in the committee.
