AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal has issued a sharp rebuttal to the BJP-led Haryana government over the supply of toxic water to Delhi, calling it a “grave sin” and urging them to stop playing politics over such a critical issue. Highlighting the Delhi Jal Board CEO’s confirmation of dangerously high ammonia levels in the raw water supplied by Haryana, Arvind Kejriwal emphasized the severe health risks posed to Delhi residents. He also criticized BJP leaders for attempting to silence him through threats of legal action, stating unequivocally that he would not allow the people of Delhi to suffer or drink poisoned water.
During a media interaction, Arvind Kejriwal responded to BJP & Haryana Government’s claims regarding Yamuna Water supply. He said: “The Delhi Jal Board’s letter yesterday clearly stated that the levels of ammonia toxicity in the raw water are extremely high. Haryana CM, should not politicize this matter— he shouldn’t play politics over water. It’s a grave sin, and you will face the curse of the people. If you provide dirty, poisonous water to the public, people will suffer.”
Arvind Kejriwal further said that the BJP is trying to silence him through threats of a defamation case. He added: “Go ahead, file a case. Is there anything left that you haven’t already done? You’ve sent me to jail, so hang me if you must. File a case, but will you kill the people? Will you supply poisonous water to the people of Delhi? If Kejriwal raises his voice against it, you threaten to file a case. File it if you want, but I won’t let the people of Delhi die. I won’t allow the people of Delhi to drink poisoned water.”
Angered by the BJP’s conduct, Arvind Kejriwal asserted, “The BJP must stop its dirty politics. Don’t try to scare us with cases. Nayab Singh Saini should advise his party to stop this filthy behavior. Supplying clean water is a virtuous act; stop sending toxic water!”
Concluding, he informed that CM Atishi has written another letter today. “Yesterday, the CEO of the Delhi Jal Board confirmed in her letter that the water coming into Delhi is mixed with ammonia, a toxic substance. He himself confirmed this. At 4 PM today, Bhagwant Mann Ji and Atishi Ji have been given an appointment by the Election Commission to meet and discuss this issue.
