The Aam Aadmi Party has vehemently condemned BJP-controlled LG’s diktat of evicting Delhi CM Atishi from her official residence. This forced eviction, done under the BJP’s pressure, marks the first time in the country’s history that a sitting CM has been evicted from their designated residence in such a manner. Senior AAP Leader and Delhi Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj questioned the absurdity of the move, asking the LG if at all any inventory of his official residence was taken before he shifted in.
Pointing out glaring discrepancies in the handling of the matter, Saurabh Bharadwaj tweeted, “The LG is planting narratives in the media that Delhi CM Atishi’s belongings were thrown out of the CM House because she did not hand over the keys to the CM House to the PWD. Apparently, after having thrown out CM Atishi’s belongings, an inventory of the house will be taken, and only then will it be allotted to her.”
He further questioned the integrity of the LG’s office in handling this transition, asking, “I respectfully want to ask LG Sahib, when he shifted to the Raj Niwas, did the previous LG hand over the keys of Raj Niwas to the PWD? And was an inventory taken of Raj Niwas before the new LG shifted in?”
Earlier today, a team from the Public Works Department (PWD) arrived at the CM’s residence, reportedly double-locking the premises after removing her personal belongings. Images of the removal have surfaced in the media, sparking outrage and controversy over the fairness and legitimacy of the process. The irregular nature of the procedure followed in evicting CM Atishi reeks of a conspiracy.
