The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) launched a historic initiative today to demonstrate its commitment to women’s empowerment in Delhi, as National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal personally signed a public pledge guaranteeing the swift implementation of the Mahila Samman Yojana upon assuming office. This landmark program, which promises ₹2100 per month to every woman in Delhi, stands as a cornerstone of AAP’s vision to create a more equitable and supportive society for women and their families.
In the high-energy event, Senior AAP Leader Manish Sisodia unveiled a digital countdown tracker, underscoring the party’s readiness to implement the Mahila Samman Yojana as the very first order of business following the election results. The countdown, beginning today, signifies AAP’s determination to ensure immediate action and transparent accountability. Senior AAP Leaders, including Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, CM Atishi, Ministers Gopal Rai & Saurabh Bharadwaj and Deputy Speaker Rakhi Birla were also present at the event.
Following the release of the party’s manifesto, at its headquarters, Arvind Kejriwal issued a separate guarantee letter for the Mahila Samman Yojana, in which he personally signed and declared, “I, Arvind Kejriwal, guarantee that as soon as the Aam Aadmi Party forms the government, the first initiative will be to launch the Mahila Samman Rashi Yojana for our mothers and sisters.”
During the event, senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia initiated a countdown saying “just eight days to go” for the implementation of the Mahila Samman Yojana. He stated, “Arvind Kejriwal’s 15 guarantees for Delhi include the guarantee of ₹2100 per month for women, which will be actioned post-elections. Arvind Kejriwal has personally written, signed, and provided this guarantee. These guarantees by Arvind Kejriwal will result in savings of at least ₹25,000 per year for every family in Delhi.”
Meanwhile, senior leader and cabinet minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said, “Lotuses bloom in mud, but Jhaadu cleans the mud. Press the Jhaadu button and save ₹25,000 every month.” He added, “When we started using the term ‘guarantee,’ it was stolen. Now, with the way Arvind Kejriwal is giving guarantees after guarantees, other parties will also start copying this within a year. The Delhi elections are just a few days away, with voting scheduled for February 5. The day when women will start receiving ₹2100 is now not far away. The countdown has begun, and women are eagerly awaiting the next seven to eight days to pass quickly, so the Mahila Samman Yojana benefits can start flowing.”
