As curtains came down on the last phase of campaigning in Haryana, the Aam Aadmi Party reached out to the masses with all its might. Senior AAP Leader and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi held roadshows and Jansabhas in the state in support of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidates Prof. Chhatra Pal Singh from Barwala Assembly constituency of Haryana and Rakesh Chandwas of Badhra Assembly constituency. People showered her with garlands and support. Atishi passionately supported party candidates, urging voters to embrace “jhaadu” as their symbol of change. She highlighted the pressing needs of the people of Haryana, emphasizing the demand for 24-hour free electricity, superior government schools, and employment opportunities for youth.
On this occasion, Atishi said, “On the 5th, elections are upon us, and it’s vital that you all cast your votes. The day of voting is crucial; you vote once, but its impact echoes in our lives for five years. A single vote for the right party can bring significant change, while a miscast vote, due to pressure or error, can lead to five years of regret. The decision made with your vote cannot be undone. Therefore, it is essential to vote with careful consideration.”
She said, “The people of Haryana are frustrated with the current government. The condition of hospitals is dire; there isn’t even one ultrasound machine in the entire assembly. This is the reality under the BJP government in Haryana. Schools are in disrepair, electricity cuts are prolonged, and yet, electricity remains costly. Farmers struggle to secure tubewell connections, and despite children’s education, job opportunities remain scarce. There’s no fair Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops, and compensation for losses is nonexistent.”
She continued, “Parties come and go, governments rise and fall, yet the common man sees no change. Everyday people, especially women, grapple with managing household expenses, providing for their children, and when family members fall ill, they are forced to pawn belongings for treatment. This is our reality.”
“However, there is a leader who truly understands the struggles of the common man—the plight of farmers and workers—and that is Arvind Kejriwal, the son of Haryana and the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party”, she stated.
Atishi said, “ Arvind Kejriwal has been elected three times with a resounding mandate from the people of Delhi and Punjab. The AAP has expanded to Goa and Gujarat, winning seats there as well. Across the nation, people are voting for Arvind Kejriwal because he is a leader committed to improving the lives of the common man, unlike any other.”
She highlighted how during Arvind Kejriwal’s decade as Chief Minister of Delhi, he ensured 24-hour electricity and made bills zero. His government has transformed government schools in Delhi, making them competitive with private institutions.
She stated, “Ten years ago, visiting a government school in Delhi meant enduring foul odors from broken toilets and lacking basic furniture. Parents had no choice but to send their children there when all else failed. Today, under Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi’s government schools outshine private ones. In the past three years, over 400,000 children have switched from private to government schools. This is the legacy of Arvind Kejriwal’s governance.”
The Delhi Chief Minister also shed light on how basic healthcare has become so expensive that many women hesitate to seek checkups, fearing the costs. Simple ailments can drain an entire month’s budget, forcing them to forgo medical attention.
She stated, “Arvind Kejriwal, Haryana’s son has ensured that every man, woman, elderly, and child in Delhi receives excellent treatment in government hospitals and mohalla clinics, free of charge. All medicines and consultations are provided without any fees. From minor ailments to major surgeries, everything is free.”
She continued, “Moreover, Arvind Kejriwal has honored the elderly in Delhi by organizing free pilgrimage trips. Whether it’s to Rameshwaram, Vaishnodevi, Dwarka, or Ayodhya, he has facilitated journeys for over 100,000 senior citizens, lifting the burden from their families.”
Atishi said, “What has happened in Delhi and Punjab can happen in Haryana too. You just need to go out and vote for the ‘broom’ symbol and support the Aam Aadmi Party on the 5th of October.”
She said that this time the government in Haryana will not be formed without the Aam Aadmi Party. “The Aam Aadmi Party is winning so many seats that no government can be formed without our support. All the promises made to the public will be fulfilled,” she stated.
Atishi also posted on Twitter, stating, “The people of Haryana know that only their son, Arvind Kejriwal, can bring change to Haryana. This time, the people of Haryana should press the broom button on October 5 to secure 24/7 free electricity like in Delhi and Punjab, to transform government schools and hospitals into world-class institutions, to provide a ₹1,000 honorarium for women, to offer free pilgrimages for the elderly, and to establish an honest government.”
