The Kejriwal Government is winning praise from Auto Drivers in Delhi. In a powerful show of support, auto drivers in Burari assembly voiced their appreciation for the Kejriwal government’s initiatives during an ‘Auto Samvad’ by AAP’s Auto Wing on Monday.
AAP MLA Sanjeev Jha and Auto Wing in-charge Gaurav Singh led the dialogue, highlighting the Delhi government’s efforts under CM Arvind Kejriwal. Drivers lauded the CM’s relief measures, including fee waivers and financial aid during the pandemic, cementing his reputation as a leader who truly stands by the working class.
During the Auto Samvad program held in Burari, there was a discussion on the various works done by the AAP government in Delhi under the leadership of CM Arvind Kejriwal. Arvind Kejriwal has done a lot of work for auto drivers. For instance, during the lockdown imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all auto drivers became unemployed, creating a financial crisis for them. During this period, CM Arvind Kejriwal provided financial assistance of Rs. 5,000 twice to all auto drivers. Additionally, several fees that were usually imposed were also waived.
During this, the auto drivers thanked CM Arvind Kejriwal for the work done in their interest. The auto drivers are very happy that now Arvind Kejriwal has come out of jail. MLA Sanjeev Jha said that CM Arvind Kejriwal has always considered the auto drivers as a part of his family and whenever the need arose, he always stood with the auto drivers and will stand with them in the future too. Delhi State Convenor and Cabinet Minister Gopal Rai held a state level Auto Samvad last month. During that event, he had announced to engage in dialogue with the auto drivers. This dialogue is being organized by the AAP Auto Wing organization.
Work done by the Arvind Kejriwal government for auto drivers:
-Gave 5,000 Rs. twice during the COVID-19 pandemic, totaling 10,000 Rs..
-Reduced the DIMTS fee from Rs. 1,420 per year to free.
-Reduced the SIM fee from Rs.584 per year to free.
-Reduced the fitness fee from Rs. 600 per year to free.
-Closed road trials for auto meters.
-Discontinued mandatory classes for driving licenses and fitness.
-Reduced the permit fee from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 500
-Reduced the penalty for address change on the RC from Rs. 500 per month (Rs. 6,000 annually) to Rs. 100 per month (Rs. 1,200 annually).
-Built 511 auto stands.
