As Delhi reels under daily hours-long power cuts, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) lashed out at the BJP government. Delhi Unit President Saurabh Bharadwaj asserted the so-called four-engine ‘Phulera Panchayat’ regime has destroyed public facilities, leaving people without electricity, water, homes and jobs, while goondaism grips the city.
Pointing to massive power cuts, AAP Delhi Unit President Saurabh Bharadwaj stated, “On 22nd August, the entire evening saw electricity outages in areas like Shalimar Bagh, Wazirpur, Tri Nagar and Shakur Basti of North Delhi. Even Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s constituency falls in this region, yet the situation remains dire. Ever since BJP’s so-called four-engine ‘Phulera ki Panchayat’ came to Delhi, they have destroyed every facility here. Power goes out for hours, and those who file complaints are threatened with police cases.”
Highlighting attacks on education, housing and healthcare, Saurabh Bharadwaj said, “Private school fees have been increased, bulldozers are being run daily on the homes and livelihoods of the marginalised, and ordinary people’s pockets are being looted by hiking fees. Doctors are being mistreated, Mohalla Clinics have neither medicines nor testing facilities. When parents question Education Minister Ashish Sood at his town hall, they are threatened and humiliated.”
Summing up the situation, he asserted, “Overall, goondaism is at its peak in Delhi. BJP is attacking educated and professional sections like doctors and lawyers so that they remain silent and stop questioning the government.”
