Ten days after the Delhi election results, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) remains unable to name a Chief Minister, drawing sharp criticism from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). AAP leader Avadh Ojha took a swipe at the BJP, asserting that it lacks a visionary leader like Arvind Kejriwal and is directionless in governance.
Highlighting AAP’s decade-long achievements in human resource development under Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership, Avadh Ojha asserted that while anyone can incite conflict, steering a state toward prosperity is a far greater challenge—one the BJP appears incapable of meeting.
AAP leader Avadh Ojha held a press conference at the party headquarters on Monday and said that the results of the Delhi Assembly elections were declared on February 8, but even after ten days, the BJP has not been able to announce a Chief Minister for Delhi. “The greatest quality of a leader, which drives the development of a nation and society, is being visionary—understanding what actions will help society, families, and the nation progress,” he added.
Avadh Ojha asserted that the AAP has governed Delhi for the past ten years, focusing on human resource development. “Every powerful nation in the world today has become a superpower based on the strength of its human resources. Whether it is a country like the United States, which had large slum areas in 1787, or nations like Germany, Japan, or China, all have advanced by investing in their human resources,” he added.
“Even if a country has abundant natural resources, it can never truly progress or become strong without a robust human resource base. Our leader, Arvind Kejriwal, has always been crystal clear about this fact,” affirmed the AAP leader.
Avadh Ojha further stated that there are two strongest pillars of human resource development—education and healthcare. In ancient times, when India was a global superpower, people from all over the world aspired to study at universities like Nalanda and Takshashila. Scholars like Faxian traveled from China to study in India. When the country had the highest standards of education, it was a superpower.
“When the nation had great physicians like Charaka and Dhanvantari, it was a superpower. Keeping this formula in mind, Arvind Kejriwal focused on strengthening education and healthcare in Delhi, believing that as our human resources become stronger, our families, society, and ultimately the nation will become stronger,” he emphasized.
Avadh Ojha said that the BJP is unable to decode this vision. They do not even know what needs to be done. “Anyone can instigate conflicts, riots, and disputes, but governing a state, developing it, and elevating it to the status of a surplus state is not everyone’s capability,” he added.
The AAP leader concluded, stating, “Today, the BJP has 48 MLAs, yet they cannot find even a single individual with a vision like Arvind Kejriwal’s to take Delhi forward. The people of Delhi are witnessing this failure. I believe that even by February 20, they will not be able to take the oath because carrying forward this development trajectory is only possible under the leadership of our leader, Arvind Kejriwal, and our party. It has been ten days since the elections—if the BJP has a policy, they should reveal it; if they have a leader, they should present them.”
